What I think may have happened is that she edited the photo and saved a couple of versions whilst working on it. She could have easily sent through a version that she did not mean too - this happens a lot with images, documents etc. A simple error. The media are mad because they have managed to keep her under wraps during her convalescence and they take their own family photos. It really is bullying.

Catherine has had abdominal surgery and IF she were to appear in photos taken in the garden or on zoom, the media would tear her apart/ state that it is not her, but a double as it invites more interest, hence increased stress for her and her family. Catherine and William are more relaxed with their interaction and are very active in their causes, patronages and charity work, than the previous generation. Sometimes there is a transition period until they find a healthy balance between the private and public persona and how much media intrusion they will permit. Social media offers opportunities for the media for increasing their revenue in ways not possible during the late Queen Elisabeth’s reign. Catherine and William choose to create as normal as is possible life for their three children. Thus they have agreements with the press/ photographers to not intrude on them in their private life. The press have respected this request until now. Catherine requested privacy for the sake of their three children, so they could maintain as much normality as possible during her time both in hospital and afterwards recovering at home. It is very stressful for children when a parent goes into hospital, so Catherine and William requested that the media not take photos of family and friends visiting the hospital bar the first visit from William. This is so photos do not appear each day of these visits distressing their children and their grandparents. They do have the right to privacy as did Queen Elisabeth when she retired from public duties. It is out of concern for the mental health and well-being of those beautiful children and as both Catherine and William work hard at being hands on parents as much as possible, they wish to ensure their life is disrupted as little as possible. I am certain if they were your children you would surely wish to do the same. Basic common sense should prevail.
