This week on The Reaction with Andrew Pierce and Sarah Vine, is it time for the Prince and Princess of Wales to come clean about what’s really going on following the furore over that infamous edited Mother’s Day photo? Royal biographer Tom Bower says Kate Middleton was ‘pressured’ into doing the shoot to stop trolls on social media. The royal author also blamed the palace, saying that like King Charles, Prince William and Kate are being advised by ‘yes men’, and that the crisis leaves the couple ‘vulnerable’ to snipes from Prince Harry and Meghan and the whole Sussex camp.
Andrew and Sarah also discuss whether Boris Johnson is really making an election comeback to help the Conservatives on the doorstep, and whether he can save Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Andrew says the former Prime Minister is the best campaigner since Margaret Thatcher said but Sarah says he won’t touch this election ‘with a barge pole’.
Andrew is furious that Cheltenham 2024 has scrapped Ladies Day in favour of Style Day. He says it’s more woke madness. And Sarah says that pet owners are being conned out of thousands of pounds by vets because they will do anything for their beloved animals.
Plus, Showbiz supremo Katie Hind gives her verdict on Cat Deeley and Ben Shepherd’s This Morning debut, and the inside track on the fall-out between Celebrity Big Brother’s Louis Walsh and the pop duo, Jedward.

I have been married for 54 years and often take off my wedding band. There is nothing wrong with my not wearing a ring. Prince William never wears a wedding ring, which is just fine.
So what I keep hearing from Sarah is there is not a problem with the photo as such the problem is Catherine did it herself rather than letting the experts do it for her. A large portion of us do not wear our wedding rings 24/7 especially after surgery so in my view not wearing her ring makes Catherine even more relatable.
Don't be sheep. Kate did not touch up or release those photos. That's Kensington Palace and Prince Williams doing.

The photo is a non issue, the Wales' distractors are keeping the story in the headlines. Give it and her a rest, it is not news nor does it breach the trust. Post surgery people swell and lose weight, her rings may be ill-fitting and uncomfortable. Editing clothes on the kids- big whoop, it is done by everyone with a camera.

When worse was done to H and M and their family, no one said anything. The photo was all AI, and Kate wasnt transparent, as H and Ms photos werent compilations of multiple photos. A kill order was sent to one photo that the TABLOIDS altered regard a christmas card from H and M. If nothing is wrong, they should leave H and M alone too. Reputable photo agencies do not pull edited photos!
They pull things like composites where a bunch of separate images have been cobbled together (copied from other photos and pasted).
So it's not "a photo taken by William".
That's a lie, apparently.
It's embarrassing and quite shocking that one of the spokesmen from Agence France Presse (one of the agencies) said they didn't initially scrutinize it because the Royal Family "have been a trusted source for years".
But, he added, "they aren't anymore". 😢

I think the picture did not make it worse. The media did. I really do not understand the backlash from the media about a mother who SLIGHTLY altered a family photo to make it better. In this age of digital photography I believe almost EVERYONE does this - I probably would if I knew how! The mainstream media sickens me! Friend of mine, who is a photo journalist has told me that every photo that goes out has been edited in someway form, whether it’s to improve the light balance or the colour intensity etc. aren’t there more important things in the world than worrying about whether she edited the sleeve on her daughters sweater?

I try not to believe in internet conspiracies, so I take these types of stories with a grain of salt. If the picture truly was AI-generated, that would be important. However, I tend to think this claim is not true.

The most appalling thing about this whole Catherine and the photo issue has been the behaviour of the media. Absolutely out-of-proportion , full-on trolling (and I'm not talking about the press agencies 'killing' it). Just despicable behaviour. Catherine releases a photo with the children every year in honour of Mothering Sunday. This year she's recovering from surgery so they didn't use a professional photographer. The trolls have been driving all the conspiracy theories, and are driving all this 'lack of trust' rubbish as well. Kill orders have been issued on all kinds of photographs over the years - but have not generated anything like this massive attack. Meghan and Harry have ALSO had photos 'killed' for photoshopping - and regularly release photos that have very obviously been heavily edited. Because “lovely photos” aren’t faked and photoshopped to deceive the paying tax payers in the UK when you are a member of the working Royal Family! All of you defending Princess Catherine at all costs with your blinders on are baffling observing from across the pond. You should be questioning the Palace for maybe putting this together without her knowledge or Prince William perhaps. Even if she did it which I doubt , it was a dumb move and she doesn’t deserve defending as lovely as she is. If she is so sick that she can’t make a press release, publicly give thanks to well wishes, stays in the hospital for 2 weeks to be absent from public duties for months I can’t believe she is spending her time photoshopping and editing to deceive the public like this?

It’s the press and media that have made the mistake. The general public love the photo. All that’s happened is that people have unsubscribed from these platforms as we are sick of the hypocrisy and drama. If the Princess wants to take the children’s photos and edit it before going on instagram she has every right to do so. Catherine has taken a photo every Mother’s Day and I really hope she keeps on doing so especially when she knows the public is behind her .
Of course she will do a beautiful photo next year,, she will be so perfect for editing by then..we all love our Princess ❤May she get better soon ❤️

This isn't about editing a photo! This is about possibly creating a photo that was never a photo! Media found Catherine's picture to be manipulated to change the images in the picture including her face! Media asked for original photo as proof. The palace refused to provide it & media sent out a kill order!

Early relationships, a marriage annulled, a daughter with Joe Guiliano and allegedly twin boys with a wealthy business man. Links with Epstein though his yacht etc etc, surely the time is right for an in depth expose?
