What is ASMR?
ASMR is a complex name to define a very simple sensation: TINGLES mainly located on the top of the head.

The way hair is being cut like in this video, I always find looks complicated. I just wouldn’t know where to start, lol. The barber is a good sport for letting you film her.

Very different for me. I enjoyed the sounds of her hair hitting the cape and watching the stylist was very interesting. I know nothing about this type of hair texture so I can’t speak to her technique but I was thoroughly entertained the whole time

As confusing as it may look to others....she is giving her layers by picking up hair in vertical sections. The lady has wavy/ curly hair so the layering will give her more volume but also makes it manageable

Pride Heartless Yeah, all they have to do is explain what type of content they're shooting and ask that they don't speak. They probably book these video shoots weeks in advance
😂 I wonder if they just walk in sometimes & the barber already knows about the ASMR community...like, hed know how to act, what to do, what triggers to perform. Id get no 2nd hand embarrassment from people through some of these videos.
I'm some of the videos their is dialogue with the barber that seems normal, but it is brief. Maybe people just act quiet when they are being filmed doing what they do for a living because they know that's what the filter wants to document

arionne coleman yes. It’s a texturizing technique used on curly headed individuals. I remember my hairdresser used to texturize my hair when it was curly. It takes the weight out and brings back body and curl. But it does look like she’s taking out tons of hair when in reality she’s just taking the weight out of the hair. Gives it body and bounce.

this is how you cut curly hair for curly texture. you dont comb curly hair if you want to cut it to stay curly. if you dont know dont talk.
this is a specific technique to bring out the curl pattern. you dont cut curly hair the same way you cut straight hair, especially if the client wants to keep the hair curly at all times.

I'm surprised that she didn't pump the chair up for easier access to cutting the hair, or holding the hair up. Bending down like that would hurt your back after a while I imagine.

A lot of people, it’s called cutting curly hair, if you wear your hair curly all the time it’s a good cut because it doesn’t weigh down the hair and encourages volume and curls
She’s texturizing the hair. If it’s curly you cut it that way to get some of the bulk out and to make the curls bounce more. My hairstylist used to cut mine that way when I had curly hair. Really made my hair bounce.
