    imo this setup works best for sim race, flight sims with either VR or TrackIR is the way.

    mission looks fun I am down. Love the cockpit setup. Mousepad looks uncomfortable tho? How is your camera mounted? I love the 1st person cockpit view it is great for viewers. Problem with VR- viewers just "Watch you have fun". This cockpit view, viewers have fun with you 🥰

      Thanks for the comment! That makes me super happy to hear that it's as fun to watch as it is for me to play it! I use a headstrap camera mount for the 4K DJI action 4 camera.....i look like a total nerd when its on hahaha.The rig's still a work in progress but it's at a point now where I'm really happy with it!

    im trying to assign the analog knob on the stick to look around in the cockpit view as your’s. for some reason i can’t assign an analog axis for that.!! only possible if i choose a button for that .
    do you mind sharing your key binding settings ?? i have similar hardware

      Thanks for the comment! Yes that's frustrating with DCS, what I did was use a program called joytokey it basically turns your joystick into your mouse so when you use the joystick it's like moving your mouse around, you do have to mess with the curve settings a bit to make it feel good. Hope that helps!

    You should try the tobii 5 for head tracking

      I have thought about it but I'm worried it may have the same shortcomings I talked about in the other comment that I have with trackir. I appreciate your comment and recommendation though!

    Just curious why you aren't using track IR? or eye tracking. You have a nice setup so i know there must be a reason?

    • @CrewChiefThreeSix
      @CrewChiefThreeSix  11 місяців тому

      I'm not the biggest fan of track ir with huge triples i have a couple replies that explain some of the reasons. I actually did use it in the F16 vid I just posted and i showcase the difference, I also find myself way more accurate with the apache 30mm with the mouse.

      @@CrewChiefThreeSix I honestly didn't even know that you could use the mouse for the 30mm. I am getting decent in the apache now but she takes some time to tame. I wondered if it had to do with the triple monitors. Whatever works best for you. You ever fly on rotorheads server?

      Thanks for the comment but I have trackir as you can see the camera on top of my middle tv, just doesn't work well with huge triples my side screens wrap to behind my shoulders so when I look at my side screens the trackir camera looses sight of the ir sensors and when you set a curve on it to alleviate that problem, it induces motion sickness, its hard to explain without experiencing it. Trackir works great on a single screen or a small triple setup though, there are downsides to every setup.

      Trackir works a lot better when you have the infrared clip Don't know if you have it or not but notice that your sensor is on the right and the clip generally goes on the left that's why I bring it up also if you have it very high like on a large monitor if you turn it 90° so the longest viewing angle for the camera is on the pitch axes you can customize it in the software it tends to work better I hope this helps love to set up by the way

      Thanks for the comment! Yup I have the infrared clip and it's mounted on the right side of my headset. My main issue is getting the curves dialed in because as of right now it induces nausea. Since the triples wrap around me think of it like if your using vr but the movement is off from what your brain thinks should happen and it's just very disorienting. It's hard to explain without experiencing it but I also get sick playing VR so maybe it's just me.

      This may help a utuber called sheriffs has done a trackir profile that is the best I have used. Sadly I can't post a link because of utuber but if u Google it you can find it sheriffssimshack. Also have you thought of using helios software for DCS to get external MFDs would save you from having to zoom in on them.
