That yellow-mustardy colour is my favourite too! My one and only sewing project in the last year+ was to sew down comforters/quilts for everyone in the family. I used random bits and pieces stitched together, then dyed mustard yellow on one side, grey on the other. The overall effect was really pleasantly interesting! What a good idea! I stored my fabric stash in garbage bags, cardboard boxes and assorted plastic bins. The OCD me (LOL!) sorted material by type and then by colour. Your method is much more practical!!! Watching you handle and fold all the fabric makes me want to sew!! (Tip the box over on its side so the fabric can be piled first, then it will stand later. It works with tubes of rolled-up fabric too) The tweed would make a beautiful box-pleat skirt with another solid colour! Your stash is so inspirational! Great organising!! Thanks Jan. I loved this video - right up my alley!
Hi Renée,I did have it 'filed' by colour before but it wasn't practical for me. I thought types of fabric made more sense for me, even though I don't know all the names I know by feel what to do with it. It would make a great boc pleat skirt, I love a box pleat too 🤔 Take Care 😘
There's something satisfying about watching someone sort their fabric , I have so much it drives me mad sometimes, love the mustard colour boxes great colour. Thanks Jan for sharing never thought of rolling the fabric before xx
Wow! That looks so neat Jan, and its so much easier to just look into each box and choose what you need to use. Well done. Your hair looks lovely by the way. Now your all organised. Have you thought of selling some of the things youv'e made at a car boot sale, hanging them on a dress wrack on hangers and small table....as you might as well earn something to top up your sewing cotten's with. You made me laugh at one point with your sense of humour. Take care 💕🇦🇺
Thanks for watching Liz. I am really anxious about selling anything I make, I think I've said before, when I have tried I'm rarely successful. 🤷 I will have to try and some point or I will be overrun with projects!!bTake Care 😘
@@FOPYUpcycle Its probably easier than you think now, as everyone is feeling the pinch of the cost of living and money is tight. Just be prepared to bring the price down a bit when they start to barter, its either this or donate the items to charity...otherwise you will end up snowed under. 💕🇦🇺
