- In the first few weeks of The Late Late Show in 2015, James was on a mission to set up two strangers on the sidewalk for a date. He met Daniel and eventually Evelyn who came on the show for their first date. With tonight being their 3-year anniversary, James prepares the reception they never got to have thanks to the pandemic. And we pull out all the stops: the Jonas Brothers step in for the toast, Norah Jones serenades them with a first dance and Expedia comes in big for the honeymoon!

Seeing this couple being so shy and thinking they might have never found each other without the segment. Yet they were both so excited to partake on the date. This was very wholesome!

Wow. One of the luckiest stories. You happened to walk in a shopping center and James set you up with your future wife. And exactly during the duration of this iteration of Late Late Show, they got together, moved in and married. That's truly beautiful.
There was a UK series years ago called Street Mate that did the same thing.
I don't know if it resulted in any weddings, though.

.....and got a dog together! They did it all...well, almost...kids are probably next. They seem like a very happy couple. Also, on a shallow note, a very attractive couple, as well.
He may have been either at The Grove in L.A. or the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica.

I love how the crew didn't just reach out to them since the show was ending but they actually kept track and James was supposed to officiate their wedding.
She’s my kinda girl. She was more excited about the free business flights to anywhere in the world than she was about the Jonas Brothers. 😂😂

They got married in a courthouse with a random person as their videographer. They had a take-out for the reception. Perfect wedding ever! I am crying!

James gets a lot of shit for the altercation he had earlier this year at that restaurant but you can't deny that James' iteration of the Late Late Show has been one of the greatest. Granted there's only been 3 hosts so far, I think James has had the most influential version of the show and whether CBS picks it up again with a new host or James turns out to be the final host.
I think he'll go down as one of the most interactive Late night hosts in history, just in terms of like how the late night and just talk show format in general has changed with social media. James since he took over for Craig became one of most active late night shows on social media. Especially his first couple years on the show.
I think that in 5 years time when we look back James' tenure on the show, I think he'll get the recognition that he's one of the best late night hosts of the modern era.

Ah man, he really needs more credit. His interaction with the crew during COVID made me cry laughing so many times. It was such a special thing as well. I love carpool, love the big stunts with Tom Cruise, but those moments were the most special.
I give him credit for publicly admitting his problem, seriously working on improving, and giving a heartfelt apology for the incident.
He apologized and everyone knows they've had moments they weren't proud of. Happy there are same ppl out there that realize that 🥰
Having Norah Jones serenading your love is a literally life goal.

One of the best things any late show has ever done! Finding a soulmate is hard enough but manage to find two people their souldmates is magical. And to end it with a magical 3 minute reception of their dreams is amazing.

There should be more “sidewalk matchmakers” like this walking around, introducing ppl to each other who otherwise would never have met.
Now I've seen some accounts on tiktok that do this, but of course eight years ago there wasn't many people doing this. It's always fun to see how two people can be on the same place but would probably never have talked tk each other if it wasn't for a random matchmaker.
There was a show like this in the UK a while ago called Street mate hosted by the amazing Davina McCall which had the same idea, prob where James got the inspiration. ...

Great content, thanks for sharing. My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, really love her so much, I can't stop thinking about her. I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life but to no avail, I’m frustrated because i literally can't envision my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.
Your feelings are understandable, It's always difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation when my wife of 12 years left me, i couldn't just let her go. I did all I could to get her back, I had to seek the help of a spiritual adviser who helped me bring her back.

Bloody hell, that was perfect in every way.
Funny, although I did not meet my wife in a show, still it was a very fortuitous encounter. It was a Friday night, I was in my Junior/Senior year of college, was trying to go to sleep as I had to study all weekend for midterms. A good friend calls me, half drunk, from this bar and convinces me I have to come and be his wingman because he has two girls and he does not know what to do with both of them. Like good friends do, I said screw it, going to help my buddy. I get to the bar and it was packed, the bouncer is not letting anyone in. Bouncer finally says, if one of you is alone, you can come in now. Next to me is this large group of girls (12 maybe?) and one of them hears me say “I am alone”, and she tells the bouncer “no sir, he is our cousin, so if he goes in, we all go in!!” The bouncer smiles and says, “all right you all come in”. I tell this new group “you all now have to stay with me”. They were more than happy to stay with me and dance and drink all night. One of them staid closer to me that night and gave me her phone number. That was 27 years, two kids and one mortgage ago. We are still together and I love her. The best night of my life. I hardly saw my friend that night btw. He ended up going his own way with the two girls he was with.

I have been so sad when I think about James leaving The Late Late Show. He has brought us so much happiness and joy these past few years. I cried when Adele picked him up for his very last Carpool Karaoke, and I definitely cried with this! I just love watching James' face and how genuine he is. He absolutely adores bringing happiness to people! I'm going to miss him So very much!
