Being a retied motor rebuilder my only concern would be premature bearing wear due to the heavy wooden wheel just being supported on one side. Other than that, excellent job and hope you get many years of use from it.
Thank you very much for appreciating my work, over time I will only improve this entire structure, I understand that the bearings are under a lot of stress, I hope for the best.

or alternatively, only use that same amount of electricity a waterwheel of this type can provide while living ON the grid. Everyone can do that and only a miniscule fringe percentage of 'society' can do something so wonderful like this man.
The main thing is to maintain the rotation speed so that the alternating current frequency is 50 Hz. And to distribute the load correctly if the generator is three-phase.
That is not how is done. Water level and speed will change over time. You would need to convert the AC do DC. Then back to stable AC voltage and frequency. Use pure sign inverter.
@@albertwolanski7688 Speed of revolutions per minute, if the water flow is stable, then there is no need for conversion to direct current. Hi great work. It's a bit hard for me to see this because I bought an old mill to produce electricity but in Europe it's forbidden because of laws to protect the environment and you only built it and that's it. From the technical side 2 would like to mention 2 things. First one is that you loose power when the downside of the wheel is touching the water of the river because the friction is higher than it is when wheel doesn't touch it. Second thing is that it should go ideal round.
Stain is useless doing it after you assembled it. There are so many untreated areas that will eventually weaken the whole structure. The stain would be more effective if you had done each piece separately and then assembled.
È un'ottima soluzione per chi ha la fortuna di avere un fiume. Altrimenti eolico con un sistema uguale, azionato a vento anziché con l'acqua. Io non ho il fiume e ho un piccolo impianto eolico
I actually started to build one of these and then Fish and Game warden was all “Ahh! What have you done to this public boat launch?!” And all “Ahhh! It will take decades to reestablish these salmon spawning grounds!” Super annoying.
Nice. Just really, really nice. I've dreamed for years of building an overshot water wheel electricity generator - (maybe undershot, like yours depending on the height of the fall I can get) - probably ought to get the land first though... Heh. (Workin' on it!) I am envious of your motor rebuilding skills. I want to learn that too. But not being an engineer, and rather than doing a lot of calculations, I am going to use a bunch of automobile generators. I'll put 2 or 4 of them in series (depending on whether I decide to do 24V or 48V) then wire those groups in parallel to increase amperage. That way, (not knowing the numbers again...) I can keep adding in clusters until the wheel can take no more, thus finding the capacity through analog means... But I might use alternators and start out with AC in clusters (but it would take 10 per cluster and not sure if that is practical) adding up to 120V and not have to invert the DC at all. And also, I can add in or subtract capacity through a lever system to engage or disconnect clusters of generators as the seasons change and water rises and drops. Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed your video!!! Coming to you from beautiful, but burning and grossly mismanaged California! Long live Trump!!!

Good idea, hopefully a raging river after rain heavy fall higher up, will not destroy it all. 😢😊
Let's hope for the best, and if the river level is high, then we will have to dismantle the wheel and generator, it will be easy and quick to do.

Mount the axle for the wheel on both sides of the flume. Save your bearings.

The main thing is to maintain the rotation speed so that the alternating current frequency is 50 Hz. And to distribute the load correctly if the generator is three-phase.
Of course, this is all in the process of completion, as well as a uniform flow of water

Are you going to build a waterproof cover for the generator and gear box?
This is how everything will be finished

I have tried to remember to put the nuts on before any hammering on the bolts
Of course
@@Woodsimprovisation of course it will mushroom the threads and the bolts
Аnd then what if you think so?
@@Woodsimprovisation it’s not a problem if the nut is on there pretty permanently
Pity you cannot dam the river and use an overshot wheel thereby producing more power
In my case, it would be difficult to do this
Your wheel is heavy. use plastic or aluminum.
I use things available to me.
Should paint the motor with plastict paint except the fins.

If there is not enough power, I will send a larger flow of water, or I will do it through the reducer of increasing revolutions.

did not understand what was put in generator ?
А two-component solution of epoxy resin was poured into the rotor of the generator.
Please expect water to come in contact with the motor

Over time, I also plan to build an autonomous house with a wind generator, I hope my supporters will appreciate it.
Would you personally be interested in watching this?
Sadece lamba için mi? Telefon kamera şarj edebilir mi?
No, not only for the sake of the lamp, it depends on the flow of water and the speed of the generator itself.

Why show the end results right away! No need to watch the rest!
Sorry, I don't fully understand you.
But in winter, when the energy is most wanted, the river is vrozen 😮
This is not always the case, but if you direct the flow of water well, it will be safe.

maybe use a chain rather than a belt... 👍
The chain drive was more difficult to get and implement.
Excellent but would use chain drive belt can slip
