Had this on cassette. Listened to it cross country backpacking/hitchhiking so many times..got warped in the sun and I was so upset... thanks for putting it up
This song pretty much changed my life when I was 14 yrs old, which was more than 30 years ago. I became a huge film goob and was trying to write a screenplay for some sort of gritty cops v robbers noir thing (I had recently discovered Reservoir Dogs pre Pulp Fiction kinda soiling Tarantino for me)and I wrote the entire final sequence around this song in its entirety sans dialogue. Looking back it kinda just would have been a five or six minute music video. The last word spoken would have been a dying cop saying “seven” before collapsing. Seven was the title of the screenplay. And then the Fincher movie came out and stole my title. Which was funny because a couple years early I drew a massive 100+ page comic book of a sequel to Alien/Aliens and I abandoned it unfinished because Alien 3 was released and dashed my narrative. It was also directed by Fincher. This silliness isn’t what changed my life. This song and album became a soundtrack of life for me in the 80s
I’m pretty sure, while traveling on the 15, I’ve played this song, very close to where this video was shot, and have have made a piss stop on the Zzyzx off ramp numerous times.
This is my favourite song from The Whitey album.
how could their sound be so mature so early on? this sounds glorious. the restoration seems perfect too!
Kinda sounds like a 90s anime theme song too
this is nearly 6 years after their debut ep and 5 years after confusion is sex... of course it would be mature

It's ciccone youth.
Literal chills when the harmonics come in. SY transcends time.

Still staggering. Always amazing.
What may sound like noise to some sounds like the most beautiful of aural experiences to others. I'm definitely one of the others.

Minute 1:35 silent Hill vibes, love it
they use similar footage in mildred pierce
Both shot by Dave Markey who made The Year That Punk Broke. I think Dave may have made this vid with extra footage from the Mildred Pierce shoot.

Either this is a kind of audiovisual cursed shitpost of late 80s or this is the sample used for Sonoman by Soda Stereo
Loved it, it's so random
soda sampleo esta cancion?
@@Yamil057 Una vez leí que Soda usó esto como inspiración o base para el instrumental “Sonoman”
No creo, suena más a inspiración que a sample en sí
Is that Lydia Lunch w/em?
Good question. Hard to tell with those glasses. I hope it is cuz she's fantastic.
Do you mean around 0:58?
Looks more like Julia Cafritz.
