    Thank you for this motivation. I will complete my online certification in a few months. I am presently working in a lawfirm in mass torts. I worked in another firm helping intake. I helped organize files, write letters, and review documents. There are alot of opportunities here in my city. Plus, I have access to my husband's old cases to preview formatted discovery docs for litigation. E-Filing is where I need to get experience, as well as quite a few more task. I am very grateful to have some foundation. Love the clarity in your discussion.

    Hi Misty,
    Love your video and wisdom in this industry. Your are totally correct, Paralegal School does NOT PREPARE you for your 1st Paralegal job. The technology aspect is critical. I am looking for work if you know any firms hiring. If you’d like to interview me, please reach out, would love your feedback. Thanks 😊

    So I’m looking into a cert as well because I just don’t want the degree in Political Science. I’m doing this to learn how to file for myself and do my own stuff without having to go through an Attorney. I’m tired of the Billings especially in the family court sector. I’m looking to change that for all the people that struggle with divorce and it’s crazy expensive litigation. I’m not a fan of children being sucked into the system. So for me, I want to be an “Advocate” but first it’s important I know myself especially because every lawyer I speak with practices differently.
    I’m not sure if this online cert will be enough and I might need more classes in the family law sector but yes, I’m pretty passionate about family court issues, absolutely and there needs to be more Advocacy, REAL ADVOCACY and not just lawyers looking for billings. If that’s what I’d have to do, I might have to pass because I won’t keep enabling that kind of behavior in family court but if I can make a difference in my job as a Paralegal in the system then FOR sure I’ll go in that direction.

    I have an ABA paralegal cert and degree. Nobody is hiring anybody in my area. There wasn't one job posting on Craigslist in Sept. Luckily, I can be an LDA and start my own gig and not wait for someone to hire me.

    I'm 65 and am thinking about getting certificated. I worked more than 20 years in California as a legal assistant and paralegal and had my LDA for a time too. Then I was a Realtor for 12 years. Now I'm in a new State and have a big hole in my legal resume and am not a realtor anymore. I did land a job for a revolving door law office and lasted there 6 weeks. Very toxic environment. It did give me enough of a boost to get my skills up to speed and familiarize myself with the VERY different way they practice law in Arkansas as opposed to California. But I feel I need more weight to go with my experience. There is a State college offering paralegal certification online for a reasonable cost. unfortunately, there is no ABA accredited course anywhere near where I live and of course the ABA requires classroom education. Do you think i should go for the online ed? Or do you thinkni should do it at all at my age?

    Hey! Love your channel! I’m currently a residential Pre-Law student at Liberty University. I’m thinking about adding their online Paralegal Certificate. Do you think the Pre-Law B.S. along with the Paralegal certification gives me a strong chance at getting a Paralegal job? The plan is to work as a Paralegal and eventually go to law school. Thoughts? Advice?

    Hi, I have never worked in the legal field but have some experience with law enforcement. I'm a Marine Corps Infantry veteran of eight years. Upon getting out of active duty I transferred to the Army National Guard where I am currently a Military Policeman and working private security while going to school full time for an Associates in Arts degree in Law Enforcement. My time at the military police academy and taking criminal justice classes has increased my interest and passion for the law. I will have my associate degree soon, and plan on taking a paralegal program upon completion of my degree. What are your thoughts on the likelihood of finding paralegal work for a military law firm who handles cases involving service members who are charged with crimes under the Uniform Code of Military Justice? I would also be interested in working for prosecutors or defense attorneys in normal civilian criminal law.

    • @ArrowConsultants_MistyMurray
      @ArrowConsultants_MistyMurray  Рік тому +1

      Wow! That is quite the background. Thank you so much for your service! I think finding a paralegal job with a firm handling cases involving service members might be a little difficult only because it is so niche. You may want to start working for a a criminal defense attorney, but given your background, I bet you can get in with the Dept. of Justice. Your veteran status is likely to push your resume to the top of the stack for the Department of Justice. But no matter what, keep that passion and use it for fuel to draw strength from. Good luck to you in all that you do. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!

      I really don't recommend any of the for-profit online Paralegal certificate programs. I do recommend that you get certified when you're done with your schooling, which is completely separate from a Paralegal Certificate program. A NALA or CP certification will get you further in today's competitive market. Good luck to you! Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
