Some of the electric tiles on the buffalo sabres scoreboard are chipping off. The scoreboard is almost 15 years old. Definitely need a new one.
Would you be interested in reacting to hand drawn and colored NHL logo redesigns? I’m currently getting into drawling but I don’t have any software
SAP Center and Bell MTS Place can't fit massive Jumbotrons as the arenas are too compact. The current Jumbotron for the Saddledome was installed in 2006 and will likely be the last as the team is looking at building a new arena.
For the reference on the American Airlines Center, you can see the screen just fine from up top! Even the highest seat in the building.
Actually it is not a weird angle 7:52 I just looks normal and of you don’t like it you can look at the screens at the top of the arena

have you ever thought of ranking every teams brand? it might be complicated but it would basically include jerseys, logos, secondary logos, color scheme, team name, etc
Something about the flyers is that the scoreboard shoots out fire 🔥
the jets one was actually pretty recent and when you’re looking from a side angle behind the screens it’s a huge jets logo. i believe you can see it from the bottom also

I’ve gone to LCA and that thing is massive! Plus to boot it’s in true HD! I was shocked at it and can’t wait to see it again!
FANCY SCOREBOARDS:
- Arizona (displays drape down from sides)
- Buffalo (holes in buffalo nostrils shoot out smoke after goals)
- Calgary (flamethrowers)
- Carolina (curved scoreboard)
- Detroit (entire scoreboard is a screen)
- Los Angeles (only one layer)
- Minnesota (wooden scoreboard with trees)
- Nashville (corners look like teeth)
- New Jersey (massive)
- Philadelphia (side displays curve in, rings curve out above; flamethrowers installed)
- Washington (three rings; lower ring hides when not in use)

In case you didn't know, the San Jose Sharks just got a *new jumbotron* this season and it's bigger than their last one.
I am a stars fan I have been to countless number of stars games some on the lower bowl and some on the nosebleed seats. When I am at the very top the scoreboard looks very clear and it is a magnificent scoreboard from wherever you sit.

Pepsi center screen is amazing it is so big and clear and functional. Perfect for replays of hockey, box lacrosse or basketball you should definitely go see a game and the scoreboard!

I went to a Sixers game in February right before the world shut down. I got to see the scoreboard in person. It's honestly really awesome irl. It's absolutely massive
The tricky thing about using that site for reference, and you kind of touched on it with New Jersey, is you can't really understand the size based on the picture. I've been to Rogers Place and their scoreboard is gigantic. I think the actual dimensions are 48 feet (it goes blueline to blueline) on each side and the picture quality is amazing.

Capitals home games have thrived on sensory overload for years: take it from a former STH. Skip the renderings, and go see it in action, once you can. It really does make sense in person.
There are also two separate video rings (or are they up to three now?), 4 corner video boards, and last I heard, even the concourse was getting an information-centric makeover. It's a lot to take in at first, but if you're a regular, you kind of absorb exactly where to look for up-to-the-second information.
Caps owner Ted Leonsis is definitely an information age guy, and the quintessential early adopter where technology is concerned. And PA man Wes Johnson is no stranger to technology, either: he does voice work for video games.
So yes, the scoreboard in Washington is busier than the penalty box attendants when the Caps host the Penguins...but that's meant to be part of the experience.

I’m from NJ and I’ve been to a bunch of devils games. Let me tell you, that score board is ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE. I’ve never seen anything that big before.
I have been to a few devils games, and I can say that it is also massive. I would also add though that the graphics are severely underwhelming. The best scoreboard I have seen in person is the capitals new jumbotron. Its graphic display is insane, and honestly isn't comparable to the other arenas. I would not agree at all with his rating or review. I do understand why he would rate as such, but seeing the jumbotron in person is something else. Definitely a fan enhancing experience.
You don't take into account how massive the Duck's screen is. The small side is plenty.
These pictures don't do a lot of these scoreboards justice.
The new Blackhawks setup that was installed prior to the 2019-20 season is spectacular and looks nothing like it does in this video

When I went to the Honda Center for the 1st time, I had NO experience issues with the scoreboard because I could see the game going on the large screen while the smaller screens could show me the info stats of both teams
For the flyers scoreboard, they lower the bars on the top all the way down and shoots flames when the flyers enter
So with the Chicago Blackhawks & Chicago Bulls (NBA), they share the United Center, they put a lot of ads on their new scoreboard (It's about 2 years old). So it helps with money, but there are also smaller screens for the 100 level fans to see.
I have never even thought to rank these, this is amazing
The Winnipeg Jets scoreboard is like 5 years old.

Stars scoreboard from the top looks great! Been to several games and don’t even realize it’s slanted. Also AAC upper bowl is pretty steep so I hardly need to look at it

Just to fill you in, this particular scoreboard the Flames have was put into the Saddledome in December of 2006. So it's only 15 years old.

I love this ranking. Even if I'm a golden knights fan, I love the staples center scoreboard (as a lakers fan, it has nostalgia). it also has some small screens at the bottom.

the way that image depicts the blackhawks new scoreboard is pretty misleading. it doesnt look nearly as busy in person, and is absolutely stunning to see in the arena, all the while not blocking the view from a single seat! i get why it's ranked this low based on the image alone tho

7:45 it's like looking at a flat screen maybe if you really focused then you'd definitely see the tilt but watching a replay it's just normal, also my favorite jumbotron

The Staples Center scoreboard is about 10 years old and is in 720p. Maybe that’s why the screen is so huge.
Yep. Flames have a shit ton of obstacles to figure out... a new scoreboard won't even be a thought for the next 5 years at least.
