- Chinna Salem - Kallakurichi New line project work shared in this video.
This new line project started at 2016. Total cost of the project at that time is 116.61 crores. Total distance is around 16.20 km.
State government deposited around 64 crores as 50: 50 cost sharing basis. Track laying work started from Chinna Salem . Earthwork and land levelling almost completed till Kallakurichi.
Likely track work will be completed in next 6 months. If everything goes well by next year this project will be completed and train service will start.
For the first time direct train service to Kallakurichi will be included in railway map.

They won't start unless it is connecting to another major town.
Salem to Karur route also same thing happened. They operated train 15 years after construction of railway station without tracks.

Once, this line is extended till Ulundurpettai then, I suggest new route to start the Salem Express from Chennai Central, Perambur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Thiruvanamalai, Villupuram, Ulundurpettai, Kallakuruchi, Chinna Salem, Salem.. we will get daily train to Thiruvanamalai and Thirukovillur..
Thats a long route. I guess kallakiruchi to Tiruvannamalai straight new line will be beneficial as it reduces time and also does not affect the busy chord line of villupuram ulunthurpettai. Your view bro?

ஏற்கெனவே இருக்கும் விருதாசலம் சேலம் விருதாசலம் கடலூர் தடத்தில் ரயில்களே இல்லை. மனக்கசப்பில் தான் தென்னக ரயில்வே சேலம் விருதாசலம் மற்றும் திருச்சி கடலூர் வழி நெய்வேலி என டெமுவும் 3பா சஞ்சர்களை ஓட்டி வெட்டி காரைக்கால் பெங்களூரு ரயில் ஓடுகின்றன. பழைய தாதர் விரைவு ரயில் பெட்டிகளை வைத்து ஓய்வு தர சேலம் வரை இரவு ரயில் இயக்குகிறார்கள். விருதாசலம் தெற்கு பகுதியில் லோகோ ரிவர்சல் இல்லாமல் ரிங் தடம் அமைத்திருந்தால் இன்னும் நிறைய ரயில் இயக்க முடியும். ஈரோடிலிருந்து எழும்பூருக்கு பகல் ரயில் இல்லை.கரூர் அல்லது ஈரோடு சேலம் விருதாசலம் கடலூர் விழுப்புரம் வழி ஒரு விரைவு இயக்கினால் நெய்வேலி மக்களுக்கும் சேர்த்து ரயில் கிடைக்கும். இந்த ரயிலுக்கு ரேக் ஷேரிங்கில் சென்னை விழுப்புரம் திருச்சி கரூர் விரைவு இயக்க முடியும். கரூரிலிருந்தும் பகலில் எழும்பூருக்கு ரயில் கிடையாது.
Karur people can come to trichy via ernakulam Karaikal and catch vaigai to go Egmore sir. But can you explain how ring in virudachallam south be made? If ring is made people cannot get down at virudachallam junction right? (similar to vanchi maniachi junction ring)

Regarding thindivanam nagari line also i think its route is not multi use. Connecting thindivanan straight to kanchipuram instead of ranipettai will reduce the cost as well as time for travel of goods or people and improve north connectivity. Your view?
Route was selected and approved by Railway board. So definitely there will be some benefit especially giving first time train connection to smaller towns Vandavasi, Cheyyar and few more important towns enroute . May be some development will happen because of train connectivity

I think mostly this new line project planned as freight corridor to give faster connectivity to reach Tuticorin port from Madurai. As long as if this project completed in future it will be useful for the passengers enroute as well

No bro. Connecting to ulunthurpettai only gives access to chord line for kallakiruchi and salem.
@@krishnans7787 there are so many express running between villupuram to virudachalam so we can't run new trains whereas if we connect to thirukovilur we can run daily trans from kapadi

Already Milavittan - Melamarudur 18 km stretch new line work has been completed. CRS inspection too completed at 2022. This stretch is part of Thoothukudi - Madurai new line project via Aruppukottai
