    I love circuits like this that use chips in cool ways they were never really designed for. I hate to think of the pain that would come from trying to use this for any practical measurements though.

    A 4093 with one resistor and one capacitor would replace the 555 and all its circuit and do the job just as well. And that leaves you with 3 gates to make a trigger circuit with.

      At this circuit you can not connect an LCD, it is designed to use a led matrix as a screen

    Caspita, mi fai venire in mente quello che avevo realizzato io nel 1991... un po più sofisticato.. ingresso segnale trattato, sincronismo, etc. e funzionava veramente bene

    HI , good job , but i am not sure how leds are connected ; all cathodes are implanted in hole pad and soldered betwen them ? while anode along tracks, are cutted..Is that right ? Thanks

      Hi, Yes that's right, since I made this PCB in house, a few years ago (in 2011) I wasn't able to make a double layer PCB.

    Am I right in thinking that this is not possible on a simple breadboard by virtue of the layout of the grid of connected conductors? (Meaning you couldn't wire the LED matrix on a breadboard right?)

      Yes , to simplify things should realize a matrix of LEDs on stripboard and assemble the rest of the circuit on breadboard.

    I love your videos! I would like to build this oscilloscope too, but I need to know what the CD4017 is since where I would get it from, there are three different variants that are: flip flop, logic counters/dividers, and one from the 4000 series. Can you help me with this please?

CD4017 is a CMOS counter / divider IC and you can buy from here: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002302665931.html (select CD4017BE DIP16) - You can also find its datasheet in my datascheet archive which I have made available: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1rfkyYgDA8GO9ass8A4s5E32tbQjO2B2d

      @@Stefano91ste Mil disculpas que lo moleste señor Stefano pero le cuento que armamos el circuito como tal y el circuito funciona pero no llega a detectar la señal que le ponemos de entrada, estamos utilizando una aplicación Android esto influye o se tiene que utilizar un iPhone para que el circuito funcione o donde cree que está la falla, de antemano muchas gracias

      Do you have any video of 2 or more LM3914 cascading in BAR mode. I tried for such a circuit, video, but most of them are not with clear explenations.

      Yes, but with this type of project LM3914 is better than LM3915

      Lm3915/lm3916 is not suited because its scale is logarithmic. Your graph would be condensed at one end.

      Likewise with LM3914/5/6 connect in series to make more levels vertically.

      - La tensione di alimentazione del circuito è di 9/12V DC - la tensione di ingresso del segnale non deve superare i 30V.
      - Se viene immesso un segnale audio funziona, funziona bene con i segnali audio a bassa frequenza.

      - If an audio signal is input it works, it works well with low frequency audio signals.
