Sara, What's weird is the fact that despite being the second oldest from Nsync, overall JC has aged the best, followed by Lance, Joey (if you exclude the fact he got fatter lol Joey looks mostly the same too), Justin and then Chris. Yeah. It was originally supposed to be more than a minute but the network felt that between justins full proformance and the time restraint on the show itself wouldnt work so they cut it short....really short. Justin was pissed.

Ummm, Ok I have to stop you there. If you have seen 1D perform live, ever, you would realize that they don't lip sync either, you can especially tell when they change lyrics and when they put those personal vocal touches on a song that weren't there on the album, and they have fantastic voices. So seriously you shouldn't make that accusation without doing your research. 1D are fantastic performers in their own right. They don't do the synchronised dancing or anything, but they actually don't have to to get people to like them and their shows. They get away with it because they started out different from most boy bands in the very beginning, and because they have other ways of entertaining the masses. Where Nsync wowed people with their vocals and dance moves, 1D wowed audiences with their voices and personal touches. They made them laugh. They made their shows intimate and fun and talked to the audience. Those are very different styles, but neither one is better than the other. Because in the end they both achieved the same thing. Sending the fans home happy and buzzing. And the fact that 1D can fill stadiums all around the world while having an act with just singing and talking to the audience gives them a little edge over the others in my opinion. They didn't need to add dancing to bring in the crowds or do really any of the things past boy bands did (though they do have stage props like fire and stuff sometimes). All they had to do was be their individual selves and sing. That's it. And they became the biggest band on the planet within three years. Now that is impressive. Plus they do have good music. A lot of their music actually leans more towards rock when it goes away from pop, not R&B like most boy bands tend to do. Listen to some of their songs that aren't on the radio. You might be pleasantly surprised at how good many of them are, especially the more rock type songs like "Where do Broken Hearts Go". They have songs with influences from many eras of rock music. And then there are also the pop songs, which aren't bad either. They aren't as edgy as Nsync and Backstreet boys were, but that actually works for them. And I kind of prefer it that way. The Nsync and Backstreet Boys era is over. The new generation of boy band fangirls seem to want a more intimate and softer vibe. Back in the era of Nsync, people were more for the bad boys and cool jock kids. This era is more for the nice guys and the quirky and funny guys who aren't afraid to show a softer side of themselves and bromance it up. With people standing up against bullying, equality for LGBT community with more acceptance in this generation, more awareness for the planet, Social media a huge thing now, etc. is it any wonder that tastes in boy band type has changed since Nsync. And that the type of guy in the boy band now is different. I mean Harry Styles from 1D makes jokes on stage, stumbles and falls all the time, is incredibly quirky, is actually really overtly sexually explicit, flirts with everyone (girls and guys alike) and is absolutely loved by most of the fans (of course it also helps that he is incredibly charming, a really good guy, gorgeous, and so fun with so much passion and life- giving 500% of himself in every performance). His personality is about as opposite from how the Nsync guys portrayed themselves on stage as you can get but 1D has made it up there with Nsync and the BB as one of the top boy bands ever. They are definantly two very different bands appealing to two very different generations of girls. But one thing hasn't changed between them. That girls still like them hot.
i saw him on december 11 '13 here in indiana at bankers life fieldhouse & he was insane!!! he was there the night b4 the show at the pacer game too. at the show it was roy hibbert's birthday & he had us sing happy birthday 2 him. hes always gonna be my favorite from the group. rock on JT!!!

I'm 34 now but I was 29 back in 2013 and I remember watching this live and when he brought out the other band members to perform here, all my friends and I lost our collective shit. They are all the same age as me if not a little older. It was an awesome surprise.
One Direction was never billed as a dancing group so you can't really compare the two on that. 1D never tried to be a dancing boy band, and they didn't have to be. They manage to pack stadiums all over the world without having synchronized dance routines. Which just shows how good their vocals really are and their stage presence. 1D isn't about the dancing, but they are still fantastic performers with incredible voices. Their shows aren't about being the same, they were always about being different with their own individual styles and personalities. So yeah, they aren't in sync with the dancing, because it was never about the dancing for them. They designed their performances around different concepts. Laughter and their voices. And they sold out stadiums all over the world multiple times, became the top band in the world in under three years, and had multiple number one albums and songs all over the world with just their voices and personalities to use to entertain the audiences. Actually just as impressive as selling out stadiums with your dance moves and voices. If not more because they didn't do it with that added stage element of dance to use to entertain their audiences. Personally I think being able to make an audience laugh is more intimate and personal than having great dance moves to entertain them. And people take away more with intimate and personal experiences than they do with entertaining ones.
