    The White Western Star can also carry medium logs without a trailer (maybe not when this video was made), you can also combine the medium log carrier with log trailer and carry 2x medium logs with it. Of course it will barely get out of its own way due to the terrible P2W ratio of that truck. I think the Azov 6 can drag the white faster than the White can drive itself up a hill with a full load of logs haha. Of course the Azov 6 despite not having a great P2W on paper can basically pull anything with its super low gearing.

      The Medium Log Carrier was not a thing until Phase 6 (Maine DLC). Medium Logs are far less annoying now that it doesn't require either a trailer or Cat 745C specifically. Hallelujah really 😆

    Another great piece of content, thank you so much for this video too (and for the one on the tires, and...) 🙂
    I have one residual question, though. It seemed to me at some point you were suggesting that the right question is not "what engine should I install on my truck), but rather: what is the best truck for my job? Which, in my interpretation of your words, could be chosen by adding to the weight of the truck-without-wheels the weight of everything else we need like, for instance: the wheels, the boardbed, the cargo for the bed, the small crane, the empty trailer, the full trailer. I know that combining everything would result in an unmanageable sheet, but at least, do we have the single weights to add? Wheels, beds, trailers, cargo?
    Thanks 🙂

      Wheel & Frame Add-ons (for carrying cargo) usually make up a small portion of a truck's total mass. I won't go as far as to say they are negligible (especially for light trucks), but they will not affect the viability of truck setups in most cases. The mass of the truck body will always make up anywhere from "most" to "almost all" of the total mass (perhaps with only the exception of the Fuel Tank, which is a bad idea for almost any purpose😆😆).
      As for Trailers & the cargo themselves - please see links below. Those posts are old, and newer things like the Medium Logging Frame are missing, but they are the only compiled data in accessible form (I assume you can't be bothered to skim the game files yourself lol).
      Tbh Trailers are a topic that deserves it's own video, which I have yet to gotten to making (I dropped off from Snowrunner for a while 😅). I assume it's coming if SR continues to hold my interest like it has for the past 3 years.

    Wondering if it's really necessary to put all the stronger engines with massive fuel consumption on every truck. Yeah, I understand that more power can be better but now that we are getting more wider maps with less fuel depots available maybe it would be nice to re-evaluate the usefulness of mid tier or even stock engines? Some times I feel that all those engines are not there just for show.

  • @helSouls
    @helSouls 2 роки тому +1

    For scouts, i prefer stock or second engine, because fuel means more, trucks, all the way on torque.

      Might also make for less scout trucks flipped on roof. I know the CK is a handful with 39in tires and the 5.2 engine. The scout 800 is barely driveable with the stock engine + lift haha

    That azov with the super low front bumper that just gets jammed on everything and slows the truck down is not one I'm gonna get. This game benefits from trucks with high overhang or and axle protecting bumper if available, but I see some people use this truck and it's always the same just problems with the low front.

      If you mean the Azov 73210, I've just unlocked the active suspension upgrade, can't wait to see how this changes the performance of this truck.

    What would u recommend for the CK1500 scout in Hard mode? With how fast u can get the "best" engine is it worth equiping that in Hard mode when fuel cost money and u would reduce its range with higher fuel consumption. I have seen a few videos saying that it is better to keep the standard engine for lower fuel consumption over the added power but i am still not sure what to go for.

    • @FireflyOnYoutube
      @FireflyOnYoutube  2 роки тому

      If you are worried, stick with the stock engine. 30k torque is sufficient to move the Chevy anyways.

    • @mrvwbug4423

      I wonder if the lower spec engine might also help make the CK less of a dune buggy once you get 39in mudders on it. With the 5.2 it is quite a handful and very easy to roll on the big mud tires. I have definitely heard it is often best to stay with the base engine in hard mode since you have to make every drop of fuel count, at least for scouts.

    Towing
    Power to weight
    Means nothing
    Take my semi for example
    80,000lbs… 450hp… 1,000tq
    It comes down to gearing among other qualities
    Like my truck literally does 5mph in 1st gear… I climb MOUNTAINS in 8th-9th-10th at 35-50mph….
    Gearing in fact is a torque multiplier so it doesn’t matter if you have a heavy truck that makes 100tq, you gear it low enough it could apply 1,000tq to the ground
    Hence why the off-road gearbox and fine tuned box are the superior transmissions in mudrunner:))))

      @@vladvulcan It might be links. Although it is strange that I can't see the message - because if something gets auto-deleted I should be able to see it.
      I know that youtube doesn't allow for certain types of links like file hosting sites (which could be used for illicit activity etc.). I know this because I used one in my description once and got a community strike😲

    Actually, you are oversimplifying. There are other engine parameters that matter, including durability and tied to it - critical damage threshold, damaged fuel consumption and damaged torque penalty. The trend is that the crazy one-off superpowerful engines not only get higher torque and fuel consumption, but also much less durability and lower damage threshold.

    • @FireflyOnYoutube
      @FireflyOnYoutube  2 роки тому +1

      I am simplifying, particularly because durability & fuel consumption matters little outside of Hard Mode, at least for the way I've seen most people play. Yes it creates a "difference" but I have never been able to justify picking a less-powerful engine due to durability or fuel consumption. Have you? (outside Hard Mode)

      @@FireflyOnUA-cam I have. When it's about LAZ-6 TA240 for old Russian trucks, or the Si-8v 2850 Tc for new Western Stars, I usually install the previous ones, because they are much more reliable. Only switching to the top ones when I need that power boost (logging?) or am going for a short trip where durability doesn't matter.
