Bruh not lying…. I was just saying this the other day…. Sneaker game used to be 1 to Rock, 1 to Stock. Now you got 20-40yr olds buying 100% stock on KD 4 Weatherman’s and selling for $30 profit. At that point it makes more sense to just get a regular job.
Granted certain shoes do deserve the $500-$1000 resell price tag IE: Skunk SB, Galaxy Foam, Nike Yeezy and some Adidas Yeezy.
Sneaker game changed 2017, I was working at finish line. My manger would rig the raffles for one reseller in Raleigh/Durham, NC. After that everybody stop buying sneaker for nostalgia purposes and strictly for capital.

If I really like a shoe that I couldn't cop for retail I will try to get it from a reseller with a max of $50.00 over the original retail price as my ceiling. If I absolutely love gotta have I will go as high as double the original retail price BUT if they want a cent over that I just have to walk away. Also completely agree with you on the AE 1 's

I remember growing up in Brooklyn during the 70s. Rright up the block from my house was our place. It was called the sneaker factory. And our sneaker was the Chuck Taylor converse all star. But it was a small group of us that just loved the sneaker. Such wonderful memories and awsome times

At the end of the day, anytime anything gets big enough, a bunch of casuals come flooding in and then you have influencers/wannabe influencers who cater to those casuals. I don't see a way around it. Just follow and support the real ones I guess.

I remember coping his sneakers back in 2010 and being that 1 kid that had a few Asics and New Balance outside of the Overhypeness of Jordans and they would sweat me wondering where I got my sneakers but if IKYK lol But even for Ronnie when he dropped the Knicks and Dolphin Asics in 2013 I was in college at the time and I saw the hype for them I knew it was downhill because it was nothing but resellers trying to get to them and I was livid.

I know you don’t like dunks but I’ve been skating and wearing Nike SB since 2004. I still camp out for my SBs sometimes 24hrs+ because I LOVE SBs and the story behind the collabs. I just started collecting sneakers back in 2022, so most of my collection ain't going for crazy resell, but I love my collection even if every release is "bricking" lately. Every shoe I buy I genuinely like. A lot of the hyped shoes don't even look good to me. Off white is overhyped. Travis's are overhyped. I like the Travis' color way, but that backward swoosh ruins the entire shoe for me. It looks so dumb to me. I buy what I like with hopes they'll end up being "grails" in 3 years 😂. Couldn't be happier I'm getting shoes for retail and below.
