    Can I get Ergon TP 1 system for cleats other than spd?

      Yes, you can purchase sets for Look Keo, other Shimano, Crank brothers and speed play. I, myself, have only used the Look and spd, but these cleat systems should all work in a similar manner to the video.

    These templates were ridiculously expensive for what they are a few years ago. I struggled to justify the cost of them on quite a tight budget at the time. More recently I've found them on a certain 'Far Eastern' online sales platform for less than a third of the price and finally ordered a set. I saw them for SPD as shown here as well as SPD-SL, Look Keo etc.
    If you have a few different sets of shoes for riding, utilising the same cleat system, I can recommend these templates and the technique

    Finally ! took me hours of browsing to find this video ! Can I use this video as a reference for my Look cleats then ? My new shoes also have an higher stack than the old ones tho..

      Yes, if you have Look Keo or Shimano SPD cleats. You should get the Ergon TP1 that is compatible with the cleats. Ergon does not make them for the old style Look cleat.

    Got a question. I just got the Shimano RC502 which has low stack height compared to the old RP2. Does this mean i need to lower the saddle height? How do i measure the stack height of both shoes to know the difference?

    • @tony10speed
      @tony10speed  Рік тому

      The difference in stack height probably will not be noticed. However, here is the best way to determine seat height from the expert bicycle fitter, Neill Stanbury:

    Are adjustments difficult if you have to make them?

    • @tony10speed
      @tony10speed  4 роки тому

      No. You just have to know which way to move the cleat. See: ua-cam.com/video/vUjk5CFjh74/v-deo.html

    How about this other vid i saw? Have you tried it? It seems an easier way of transferring cleat positioning. Will try it once the new shoes arrive.

    Is setting the markers on the shoe difficult?

    • @tony10speed
      @tony10speed  4 роки тому

      Setting the marker is not difficult. Some practice is required to find the protuberance of the first metatarsal through the shoe. Practice with just your sock on (use a thin cycling sock). Then practice with the shoe and sock (also a thin cycling sock). Regards, Tony

    good evening
    i have just bought and received ergon tpi for shimano spd-sl, but i don't understand how to use it at all.
    when the cleat is in, already the cleat mark (the line on the cleat) does not correspond to mark 2 (which I think is the one to adjust the cleat on the pedal axle)
    then concerning point 3, the heel must be adjusted at what point? on the large black line (mark 3) of the stroke what is the purpose of the lines before and after the large black line?
    and finally benchmark 1, the I don't know at all what to measure
    if someone could help me
    thank you in advance
    I don't speak English and I don't understand the video, so to write I use the deepl translator.

      @@tony10speed Dear
      Thank you for your links
      in spite of all this information I still do not understand the adjustment to be made in relation to the big metatarsal of the toe, in fact if we have to refer to this main point, it should correspond to mark 2 of the TP1, whereas mark 2 of the TP1 is used to adjust the Q factor,
      on the other hand, the marker 1 of the TP1 cprrspond to a setting of the 5th metatarsal, which is not used because it is not in the axis of the pedal? (well I don't think so)

    Why not just take a picture of the old cleat and shoe before transfer and set up the new shoe based on the picture?

    • @tony10speed
      @tony10speed  4 роки тому

      That's what I use to do, although the TP1 is a more accurate way to go. Also some shoes have markings on the bottom for cleat positioning. The problem comes in when the bottom markings on the old and new cleats are different. Anyway, photos are a good way to go provided the cycling shoes are somewhat similar.
