I couldn't agree more. I've noticed a decrease in emotional development within a variety of generations, and the core issue is emotional vocabulary.
Many people do not have the emotional vocabulary required to internally process their emotions through self-talk and reflection effectively to form the internal understanding required to fulfil their emotional needs.
Due to many generations placing increasingly high value in appearance, status, wealth, popularity, and sex. They've become disconnected from themselves and self-discovery. Creating a self-confidence that is built on extrinsic rewards such as recognition and attention.
Emotional development used to be holistically fulfilling, but now the ego "the want" seems to overpower emotional fulfilment (the need). People want temporary extrinsic rewards instead of intrinsic rewards. The ego is used more often, and materialism is more desirable than developing the emotional intelligence required to feel emotionally fulfilled.
These days, people want immediate gratification and fulfilment. Immediate fulfilment comes from extrinsic rewards. Extrinsic motivations are used as substitutes for the intrinsic fulfilment desired.
So there is nothing wrong with you. I think certain people know you can fulfil them emotionally. But their ego keeps them in fear based and conventional thinking. So many are in denial, so deeply in denial. They don't even have the emotional development required to identify. They're even in denial. The lack of emotional vocabulary is real because so many can not make sense of their own emotions. Sometimes, it's just an issue with courage.
Also, people use emotional avoidance as a mechanism to cope with emotions and situations they're unable to process or cope with. They are unable to successfully process or problem solve the emotion, so they avoid it, because mentally, it's too much.

I appreciate hearing that.. I have bad hair days, too. I use tresseme shampoo, conditioners.. Then just coconut and aragan oil..
I find the most important part is the drying of the hair. Hair absorbs water, and when it sits in the hair to long after showering, it creates frizz. My hair is very thick and wavy if it's dried properly. I don't need to wash my hair, just water and drying it completely kept it healthy.
If I don't dry it properly, it loses waves and gets frizzy in places. When I was younger, my hair would go frizzy throughout all of it. The best example I can think of is from a kids' movie Anna Hathaway in Princess Diaries 1 she had this frizzy hair at the start..
