I love the Beau Brummels! It took me until I was in my twenties to figure out the band name and I have desired to cover them forever. You did excellently sir!
Hi John, Don't know how I missed this one, but just got a notification/recommendation on it. I love this song and your cover is terrific my Dear friend. Fantastic vocals and awesome job on the instruments. I covered this a few years ago, but lost the recording and video when my computer died suddenly and I didn't get a chance to back it up. This brought back some memories from that era. I always liked Dennis Tufano and The Beau Brummels. Thanks again and have a great Wednesday. All the very best.... John 🎸🎵🎹🎶🎤🎼👍👍
Hi John! Thanks for checking this out. This was a while back. I did this all on the on-board recorder on my Roland Juno G keyboard. I've since switched to a DAW and audio interface. Much better way to record. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year! John
@@jrsn2music Wow, John. That's amazing! Great work! I recently traded in my Roland Prelude for a Korg PA700. Fantastic sounds and styles with a 7" color touch screen. One of the features I love about it is that it can convert a midi file into a style, but it has many great styles on its own. If you don't mind me asking, what DAW do you use ? I use PreSonus Studio One Five Pro, a PreSonus Studio24C interface and a PreSonus Faderport 8 controller. It's a great combination of S/W and H/W. I'm looking forward to your next upload my friend. They're all fantastic! I have another Collective Soul cover that I hope to upload as soon as my son records his drum track. Also, a cover of a song called "She" by Charles Aznavour which I arranged in the style of George Harrison. After I heard the song the chords (diminished, etc..), it reminded me of George, so I tried arranging it in his style. I just have to record the vocals and mix it. There also is a cover of it by Elvis Costello which you can check out on YT. I sped things up a little for the Harrison style. I'm no longer speaking to Ron Ryan. He pissed me off and I removed all the covers I did of his songs from my channel. I'll tell you more about it in an email. Again, great job on the Brummels cover. Loved it! I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. I'll email you soon. Got to run. All the very best, John
@@johncortese2165 Thanks again, John! I use the Reaper DAW and the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface. Simple and cheap and it works for me. Congrats on that Korg keyboard, sounds like an awesome instrument. Looking forward to hearing the story about Ron, wow. Take care, my friend, and thanks for the nice comments! John
@@jrsn2music That's great, John. Reaper is a great DAW. I had the Focusrite 2i2, but had driver issues with it, then switched to the PreSonus Studio24C because it was plug and play with PreSonus's DAW. Have a great weekend my friend! Talk to you soon. All the very best..... John
Always loved the guitars and vocal style from the Beau Brummels, and you nailed it. Great cover. John Cortese introduced me to your talents and I was happy to hear the song you guys partnered on. Thank you
Thank you very much! Yes, The Beau Brummels had some great songs. Funny, I had always thought that they were a British group and only recently discovered that they were from San Francisco. I'm glad that you liked my try! John
John, you're welcome. Funny, early on, perhaps from their hairstyle and name, I assumed they were British, but realized they were American. The other song I remember them from was LAUGH LAUGH. Thanks again for an enjoyable trip down Memory Lane. All the best, Barry
Hi John ! I´m not familiar with the song, but it´s a great cover with a perfect instrumentation. I´ve always told you ,but I always hear Dan Peek singing when you sing ! Congrats.
RCROSSH Thanks a lot, Enrique! I really appreciate your support, my friend, and if you think that I sound like Dan, well, that's a high compliment! Thanks again! John

jrsn2music Absolutely you sound like him !!
Great cover on this and other Byrd sings !!
NOT the Byrds--- The Beau Brummels!! 'Close", but no -------!
I still lien to them.- An SF native
Money Beatles
Samuel Hui and the Lotus stole this song and made it their own in the 60s!
Overall, good cover but the tempo is too slow & the final chord at the end is a (D7), not (A Minor).
