My nephew, now 30, was a teen when we were at a party and his mom and I were discussing Madonna for some reason. Neal turned and asked, "Who's Madonna?" We both turned to him and asked, "Are you serious?"
The amount of times that they have had Madonna pop-up and not known... React needs a College kids episode of Madonna through the years, find the videos of her controversial stuff uncensored (at least for the Reactors). Could be a good point about how she changed not just music, but fashion and some culture points as well.
I'm 36 and I knew of the song but never heard it. In fact, if it wasn't for the memes I never would have known that Dolly Parton had a song titled "9 to 5" (or "Jolene" for that matter)
Taylor L to be fair, he also thought poison was country but didn’t get the same hunch for the true country artist (Dolly) so he probably has a very limited music variety that he listens to. Lol.

8 episodes and still no Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys. They have to be included in an episode at some point. Other songs that need to be heard: INXS - Need you tonight Kate Bush - Running up that hill Madness - Our house Men at work - Down under Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Can you just go up and down the top 100 for all of the 80s and put one of these out as often as friggin possible? Have middle aged people guessing so you can watch their faces light up over and over. I love em!!
So fun fact: the 1983 song Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper was actually a cover of the original 1979 song Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Robert Hazard but the song was never released it was just recorded on a demo then Cyndi Lauper took it and made it into a hit song
Its probably just me but im a little upset she said "Poison" needs to stay in their lane, she must not listen to much Poison cause that song is definitely way in there lane of music, its just more of a softer rock song
ugh yes, thank you! it bothered me too but I thought I was being dramatic haha. it was mad disrespectful though, especially considering he popularity of Every Rose
yeah, it's so sad that these days you can't hear anyone making a rock ballad, and if you think about it all the great rock bands even metal bands of that time have at least one great ballad in their repertoire
Fine Young Cannibals - She Drives Me Crazy Europe - The Final Countdown Heart - These Dreams Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance
HOW DO THEY NOT KNOW THE SONG IF THE TITLE IS CONSTANTLY REPEATED IN THE CHORUS PS. WHY IS THERE NEVER ANY METAL. SERIOUSLY. NO IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, MOTORHEAD, JUDAS PRIEST, SLAYER, DIO, ETC... WTF
So happy to see Leah doing the 80's stuff again as she's an honourary 80's gal and even though I'm not a fan of Dolly Parton, for some reason I love the fact that Brooklyn is
You guys should do a 80’s alternative rock “Do They Know” with bands like REM, The Smiths, The Cure, Talking Heads, Pixies, and have U2 as the final obvious song.
Lol, Poison (Southern Rock) comes on & they're all like, 'Eww, country)... Dolly Parton comes on with actual country from that era & they're all like 'It's good music!'
"Poison's a rock band isn't it? They need to stay in their lane."
If she only knew that power-ballads can be some very beautiful gems in music.
Omega Orca lane boy-Twenty One Pilots
That One Person hell to the no
November Rain by Guns N’ Roses.

Wait kiss made beth?
80s was a great era for music
For entertainment in general.
The BEST era EVER, BY FAR!!!!
The greatest. It's been widely recognized as the golden age of music. The only time where rock and pop went head to head.
"They need to stay in their lane." Man that was a classic power ballad, all the 80's power ballads sounded like that.
Eric ALWAYS says he doesn't know his vintage music.......then he nails pretty much everything!
I like how Eric says, "I know from both ends of the 80s, but not the decade itself." Then he gets all but 1.
'Kool & the Gang' "I haven't heard anything else by them."
Oh yes you have!! Celebrate good times, CMON!!
Or Cherish the Love..another awesome song
And Jungle Boogie?
WHAT???? YOU'VE NEVER HEARD DOLLY PARTON????
LIKE BRO
I'm sooorrryyy 🤣
@@elijaheyles6288 No, that is unforgivable.
@@michaelmay5453 what is?
@@elijaheyles6288 Not having heard of Dolly Parton of course. It's a joke.... I don't actually mean that you can never be forgiven because of it.
The most overused word on this channel "iconic" 😄
Most of their 80s episodes involve iconic things.
jp3813 NO, It'S Not.
+Cc Bb Pretty sure I talked in plural form.
Most underused word, "moronic"
"Classic" actually
Hun, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison is a rock ballad, they were in their lane, you're the one crossing the line on the road. xDD
I was literally screaming Bon Jovi at my screen!!!😑
How did they not know Bon Jovi? HOW?
Fenrir the Rrowdy , or we're just getting old😓
Fenrir the Rrowdy Yeah I know, this is sad.
Fenrir the Rrowdy Good point.
Especially that song
Yeah they’re from New Jersey so there around where I lived
I hope episodes like this encourages kids to listen more to older music.
"I know who Madonna is"... hysterical....sort of like saying; I know who George Washington was...
Thank god he knew Madonna at least...he didnt knew anyone else
My nephew, now 30, was a teen when we were at a party and his mom and I were discussing Madonna for some reason. Neal turned and asked, "Who's Madonna?" We both turned to him and asked, "Are you serious?"
An idea: have a weird AL song play and they have to work out the song and artist it parody's
The amount of times that they have had Madonna pop-up and not known... React needs a College kids episode of Madonna through the years, find the videos of her controversial stuff uncensored (at least for the Reactors). Oduunich Loftuer I definitely agree with you on that!
More Tears for Fears in these 80's videos please!! Toto and The Police too!!
You mean like ROXANNE And Hold the line From the 1970s
No but seriously how are there are people who've existed on this planet for 20 years and not heard 9 to 5...
It was in Deadpool even!! Come on!
I'm 36 and I knew of the song but never heard it. In fact, if it wasn't for the memes I never would have known that Dolly Parton had a song titled "9 to 5" (or "Jolene" for that matter)
As a teenager in the 80's, I absolutely love all your react videos with 70's-80's stuff, be it music or movies! Please keep them coming!
Funny that Poison was tagged as country but no one said a thing about Dolly.
SPcamert right
How do people not know Livin On A Prayer is from Bon Jovi!. Damn
It's THE Anthem!!! Best BJ Song🎸🎸🎶
@@rjlove0081 I didnt
Right. I was like omg that is embarrassing. That song in my opinion is the best Bon Jovi song
I forgot how much I love 80's music.
That kid with the bandana needs to seriously widen his musical horizons.
I think he ties it over his ears!
Dolly Parton is a living legend, what the hell.
How could someone not know who Dolly Parton is?? She is pretty iconic!
Taylor L to be fair, he also thought poison was country but didn’t get the same hunch for the true country artist (Dolly) so he probably has a very limited music variety that he listens to. Lol.
Finally, Eric got it right about "Cyndi Lauper" #iykwim 😂
IKR? He thinks every female artist is Cyndi Lauper.
Just need Pat Benatar now for Madison.
"Sounds like country"😕All or nearly all rock bands had their slow songs in the 80s, there called ballads or power ballads.
Thank you! I was screaming at my screen "IT'S A POWER BALLAD!!!" LOL
I hate when they say it sounds like country when it's the opposite and poison did stay in their lane. That makes me soo mad
Brooklin is the best! She has so much fun and knows 90% of those songs, and that cute dance haha
the stevie wonder really hurt me... that voice is so recognizable
He's also one of my favourite artists.
i wanted to cry when more than half of the college kids DID NOT know who dolly parton was...
Still waiting for Culture Club - Karma chameleon in an Do they know 80's music episode.
TimeLapseSweden Same ✌🏻

That moment when you yell at the screen '' HOW HAVE YOU NOT EVER HEARD OF...'' '' IT'S MADONNA COME ON''. hahaha
Who knew Cindy Lauper was the original tango dance emoji girl? 💃
I actually guessed Livin' on a Prayer just from "From 1986".
'Slippery When Wet' is such a clean album!
Eric finally got to say Cyndi Lauper and be correct!
The original version of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" was written and recorded by Robert Hazard.
"Poison is a rock band isn't it? They need to stay in their lane" Uhhhh thats called a ballad, which is classic 80's rock.
Volatile Supernova It's also called being an artist. Artists aren't supposed to "stay in their lane".
Fr doe that bich pissed me tf off
Please do some 70`s music next! (Creedence, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin)
Lurven97 don't forget James brow man
I'm afraid it would be 0/0.

Yes sweetie Poison is classified as rock. There was such a thing as a rock ballad. I’m sad I don’t hear those these days. Such good music.
yeah, it's so sad that these days you can't hear anyone making a rock ballad, and if you think about it all the great rock bands even metal bands of that time have at least one great ballad in their repertoire
Madonna, Dolly, Cyndi Oh God you gave us the best 80's episode wow
Thank you, guys for THE great episode! Such a good music taste has a person, who picked those.
I'm a teen and my playlist is all 80s rock and this video hurt me 🤔😱
Same here!! That comment about Poison hurt lol
Same
im 13 and i screamed when i heard girls just wanna have fun lmao. my mom shows me 80's music all the time
Your mom is doing a great job then, congrats to her!
Omg you finally chose a Living on a Prayer!! I'm so happy! Please do a whole teens or adults react to Bon Jovi :)
It is so sad that the only way they know Dolly is through Hanna Montana
I can't believe this kids know who Dolly Parton
Hey at least they know who she is.
Actually, Brooklin said that made her look into Dolly further
These were some of the most iconic songs, how can you not know it?
Eric- "I don't know any 80s"
...proceeds to get aĺl correct 😂😂😂😂😊
The guy with the glasses and star wars t shirt is so clueless in all of these videos 😂
Music in the 80's was the best!
LOL'ing at the girl who said "Poison's a rock band...they need to stay in their lane" after that twangy power ballad of theirs.
I choked a little when the guy said "I don't think I've ever heard this song before" on a damn Stevie wonder track -_-
HOW THE F*** DOES BRANDON NOT KNOW LIVIN' ON A PRAYER!?!?
Fine Young Cannibals - She Drives Me Crazy
Europe - The Final Countdown

Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance
Chaka Khan - I Feel For You
1:20 whooaaa! Squidward on a chair!
A pretty solid & awesome 80s playlist!
"Poison... need to stay in the lane". Why, oh why, does any band need to stay in a lane? If you are good enough, you can take any lane.
Everyone on earth should know Every Rose! Lol
Brooklin HAS heard other songs by Kool & the gang, she just doesn't know it's by them. Everyone's at least heard Celebration and Ladies' Night!!!
Kobe Han Renobi you have heard the hook from Hollywood swinging if you have heard let me clear my throat.
Haha love Hollywood Swinging. Man, K&TG are just the best. Remember discovering them as a kid watching Pulp Fiction and hearing Jungle Boogie.
Kobe Han Renobi back when pop took some actual talent. Excluding Madonna and Cindy lauper ect.
Dude with the headband was clueless lol.
HOW DO THEY NOT KNOW THE SONG IF THE TITLE IS CONSTANTLY REPEATED IN THE CHORUS

So happy to see Leah doing the 80's stuff again as she's an honourary 80's gal and even though I'm not a fan of Dolly Parton, for some reason I love the fact that Brooklyn is
Stevie and Dolly are the two most recognizable voices.
Aye, why use Stevland Judkins's worst song, 7719 ?
Boy, these kids are going to be surprised on the next 70s edition when you play "I Will Always Love You" and it's not by Whitney Houston ...
I like Dolly Parton's version better.
The only reason I knew Every Rose Has It's Thorn by Poison was from the One Tree Hill from the episode where Lucas and Peyton get married
I'd love to see a rock/metal episode.
Enjoyed the song selection. Please do more older music, 70's, 60's etc
These videos make me smile! All the music ones are awesome!
Brittany is a good addition. She is smiey and she seems a bright personality.
You guys should do a 80’s alternative rock “Do They Know” with bands like REM, The Smiths, The Cure, Talking Heads, Pixies, and have U2 as the final obvious song.
garrett2988able yes I still can't belive the joshua tree hasn't been on this yet
The 80s and 70s have the best music
i wish you guys would make more of these!!! These "Do they know it" videos are the only thing I come here for.
Not knowing Dolly Parton is like not knowing what the invention of bacon is? Like for real man
WHOOOOAAAA SQUIDWARD ON A CHAIR!!!!!
I was looking for this comment lmao
i was gonna comment this😂
I’m nearly 30 and I knew all of these despite not being born in the 80s
Yess good selection of songs this is 80’s keep it up
glad to know some of them know stevie wonder.
brandon doesn't know as much as i thought he would.
I wish I was born in the 80's, the music was great.
same. same. i feel u.
Stay in your lane? Girl, every rose was THE rock ballad of the 80s
I love how Eric knows all the Weird Al versions of the songs! 😂
MADONNA QUEEN OF THE 80'S!!
I'd say take it back further and do a 70s music or even a hippy filled 60s music episode. Maybe bump it up to adults react instead of college.
"They need to stay in their lane" JAJAJAJAJA thanks Brooklkin!!
Britanny looks absolutely stunning in this
You should do one to see if teens or kids know the original songs that inspired newer songs.
I can’t trust anyone that only knows songs because of Weird Al.
I love how Eric knows all the Weird Al versions! That's how I know so many older songs!
Born in 2004 and I knew all the songs and all the artists
Did she really just tell Poison to stay in their lane? Smh
New series idea: Can people guess the song in reverse. Play all the songs backwards and see if they can guess it.
This is a great idea, but maybe it won't work because they can barely guess the songs played normally
Lol, Poison (Southern Rock) comes on & they're all like, 'Eww, country)... Dolly Parton comes on with actual country from that era & they're all like 'It's good music!'
Lainey Bug poison isn’t southern rock pal
S G lol, I guess they are more glam, even though that song was branching out, I think that makes it even funnier then thought it was country!
I'm glad my Dad showed me rock music. My Mom was the country lady. I got oldies from my Aunt and Bluegrass from my Papaw!
@5:43 It's called Happy-sad, Eric. Try to look for the band "The Cure" for more.
