If he had been at the NATO Summit in London instead of Trudeau he would have known what our defence spending was as a share of GDP, and he certainly wouldn’t have given Trump the wrong answer after consulting with his flunkeys. However, his government was the one that made the commitment to spend 2.0% of our GDP on defence without being serious about it, just as he committed us to the Paris 2030 target on GHG emissions without being serious about that, either. He rejects the Obama regime’s cozying up to Iran, but has nothing to say about the way it broke up Ukraine and has no plan to put it back together again, at least no plan that can be taken seriously. The current NATO policy is to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian; Harper doesn’t criticize it. This is almost certainly Putin’s last term in office, but Harper seems to have no plans for dealing with a post-Putin Russia. We shouldn’t really dismiss the possibility that Crimea will revert to Ukrainian control sometime in the future, but the idea that the next Russian president will simply buckle under to NATO pressure and return Crimea to Kyiv without any referendum is nonsense.

I admit I made a big mistake voting for Trudeau and not Harper which led to Trudeau coming to power. However, right now giving the shift of the Conservative party to the center, I think now is the time for Canadians to give the new party the People's Party of Canada and Maxime Bernier a chance. I think Canada will gain a lot from his immigration policy and his bold policies including supporting pipeline construction, reworking the equalization payment structure, getting rid of the dairy cartel and so on. We need a change of direction and the PPC is the way forward.

I admit I made a big mistake voting for Trudeau and not Harper which led to Trudeau coming to power. However, right now giving the shift of the Conservative party to the center, I think now is the time for Canadians to give the new party the People's Party of Canada and Maxime Bernier a chance. I think Canada will gain a lot from his immigration policy and his bold policies including supporting pipeline construction, reworking the equalization payment structure, getting rid of the dairy cartel and so on. We need a change of direction and the PPC is the way forward.
