6:43 I, for one, appreciate the lack of a protruding door handle... I have a Voron 0, which I have to turn on it's front side way more often than I would like (to get to the electronics), and am always worried of breaking the door handle. Nice and flat door is best IMO and it's not like with the Q1 you need a screwdriver to open it ;)
Yeah you know I said I don't particularly like the door handle because it is hard to use, but it does work and it doesn't get in the way of anything so I suppose there might be value in that
The printer has great specs, 350C hotend, heating chamber, which lets you print with more advanced materials, but so what, if, afaik it lacks proper filtration system. It has a fan that blows the air outside, and doesn't have carbon or hepa filters. You can buy carbon one on Qidi website, but I don't see any place you can mount it to prevent bad air from these advanced materials go outside the printer. I think Flashforge M5 Pro has better solution.
The amount of features this printer offers for the price is almost unbeatable in the current market. There are cheaper printers out there but they don’t come close to these capabilities, plus Qidi has been around for quite some time.
"A bambu level product"... minus AMS. I'm really eager to see someone demo 3D chameleon or another MMU working with the Q1 to wipe out the last real differentiator I see between them.
One big differentiator between qidi and these other printers is the screen. the interface on the q1 pro works well, but it definitely doesn't feel as premium to use
I got mine yesterday and it is ******* spectacular yes spectacular I needed to use that word because it's the most flamboyant word to describe this printer at the price you pay, the spool holder is fine as long as you have it pushed up against a wall it doesn't wobble as much as people say is it flimsy yes but not as flimsy as having it out in the open plus it's a 3D printer print a replacement it's a lot stronger and sturdier not worth mentioning IMO.................
@@ThePrintHouse yeah the need it make it UA-cam channel made a replacement spool holder called the monkey bars, but yeah you were definitely right about that door handle I was screaming at my screen at every review I watched saying it's the notch in the corner idiot lol thanks for pointing that out..............
@@ThePrintHouse How difficult would you think it would be to 3D Print a more solid version of the stock spool holder? I see over on the official Qidi wiki that they provide links to a number of spool holder alternatives that are stronger than the stock holder. While I agree that the stock holder should definitely be more sturdy, making a sturdier replacement seems like exactly the sort of job that a 3D printer would be perfect at punching out in a few hours and a couple of dollars of filament.
I think Qidi should keep making odd-looking printers. It should be their aesthetic signature. I have 3 Qidi machines and I'm definitely not stockholm syndromed
hahah I dont agree with the handle design at all, but it is a handle ;) And yeah this machine is currently my daily driver!! I need to fix the terrible side mounted spool holder though :3
colour? who the fuck are you? PLA plebs???? Nylon needs no colour. ASA aero is white. ABS? yeah, u can, but plebs still. You need nothing more. K2 from creality? It has one extruder only. Will buy when it has 2. xmax 3 > k2 for engineering
🤣Can't take you seriously. Anyone who throws around words like “killer” is just a chatterbox anyway. PS: I only have an artillery sidewinder x1 and so I'm not a Bambu fanboy either.
The only thing I can definitively say is better with Bambu is the slicer. They're both prusa, so the same algorithms, but Bambu studio feels better. However, I'm not saying qidi slicer is bad....
@@tabooretkai have a pair of Bambu A1's. what i love about them is that they have been by far the most painless printers to use Ever never did anything on those manually, apart from lubricating the rails or changing wall thickness and / or infill for structural parts or cleaning the bed with IPA thats about it, and no i don't even have the AMS' because i don't care about that too much wouldn't want to miss that experience, zero manual tuning is exactly what i love about them, it's epic in that regard. for tinkering i just have my old pile of junk around (CR20 Pro) if i actually wish to mess with that.
Anything less than 300mm cubed is obsolete unless you're severely space-constrained. And if you have room for filament, etc, etc, a larger printer has such practicality that I'd never go with a smaller bed. When Bambu comes out with their rumored XL printer, it's going to really kill the market for these smaller printers.
I dont think thats really the case. Probably 99/100 prints I make are significantly smaller than 300mm in any direction. In fact I rarely have a print that is greater than my 256mm3 x1c. Maybe I print vastly different models than most people though
300mm2 is the minimum I require especially for larger helmets Also some of the prints I do I would love to go past what I'm restricted to with my bambu current max is 130% of a dragon would love to go 200% lol
@@stephenmills5133 Ahhhh helmets. Ok yeah I understand that. Helmets are one of the excepts for things I've printed that arent large enough on a standard printer.
I used to think that too, but time proved that that's a dumb take. 99.9% of my prints over 5 years now would easily fit in 200mm cubed and for those that wouldn't dividing prints into pieces is braindead easy nowadays.

After some issues got dealt with I love My QIDI Q1 Pro...Prints so fantastic, ABS, PC, PLA , SILK and ASA have all printed flawless...
Yes but you fix it Pathfinder :)
Out of curiosity, what issues did you have?
Is it open source should you need to tinker with the firmware at some point?
I think so
Is the Qidi Q1 Pro a open source printer?
The amount of features this printer offers for the price is almost unbeatable in the current market. There are cheaper printers out there but they don’t come close to these capabilities, plus Qidi has been around for quite some time.
i agree with the interface.. it just doesnt look at polished as even the complete custom klipper of anycubic kobra 2 pro..
It seems like a nice enough machine. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the 1990 Gundam look.
Yeah I really cant figure out why Qidi keeps making odd looking machines
"A bambu level product"... minus AMS. I'm really eager to see someone demo 3D chameleon or another MMU working with the Q1 to wipe out the last real differentiator I see between them.
There is no stock ams option yet, but I'm sure a klipper alternative will exist and be better. Bambu ams functions well, but it is far from perfect.
I'm pretty sure QIDI will come out with their AMS. It's just matter of time
@@ThePrintHouse"will exist"
the ERCF does, but not quite better
Let's see what it looks like after 1000 hours of printing. Apart from the fact that a 3D printer is always about the overall package.
Qidi needs to stop with these crappy resistive touchscreens.

its hilarious, not even the logos use the same font on different machines.
I disagree. I wish they would make a more aesthetically appealing product, I am sure they can achieve this while still maintaining a brand signature.
We’re about to fight over this door handle design bro. hahah Also, this is definitely one of my favorite 3D Printers currently.
