Standing right in front of a cap whether you check the tightness or not is bad practice. Please stand behind the hydrant when turning on the hydrant for anyone watching this. Great video! Thank you for posting

Thank you. Now I understand smooth round and sharp 90 degree edge.

Due to the colors of your hydrants (RED TOPS& CAPS) + silver barrel, this would suggest the water pressure is below average...
I have a few private hydrants on my property with the same exact colors...
Wayyy below standard city water pressure!

Sadly no mention of what the water pressure was or the volume

20 psi residual pressure recommended by NFPA 291, but the flow?

This was a test to show how to conduct a flow test. The results aren't necessary.

That all depends on the class of the hydrant for flow output. For example I work with class AA hydrants that output 1500+ gallons per minute with about 60-80psi in the hydrant barrel. No hydrant should run more than 200psi otherwise it’ll be catastrophic. But for reference a class A hydrant outputs 1000-1500gpm class B is 500-1000gpm. They all stay at about the same psi because the fire trucks have booster pumps in them so the hydrant doesn’t need high pressure it only needs high flow.
