As a air-conditioning commissioning technician we would plot on the pump curve the impeller diameter from the no flow readings (shut off head), also plot the circulating pressures to work out the actual flows off the curves at both flows points to back up the annubar readings (measured actual flow). Also from the volts and amps we can work out the pump kW and efficiency. From there the system can be balanced if it was a chilled or heating hot water circuit at design flow. Thanks for the video!
What was the setup? Closed loop? Pump discharge to pump suction? Or from the supply tank back to the supply tank? With a tank supply & return setup would a pitot test setup every 3 years be used? Or is that only applicable to a diesel fire pump? What about the 6 auto test starts? Good info, thanks.
Nice Video, It would have been nice to have OSY instead of B-Fly valves to open and close. I've seen water turbulence destroy the neoprene on the inside of the valve. In addition have a better CLA casing relief valve that you can visually see water discharge at churn discharge into a pump room floor drain

Sir at zero flow what valves shall be closed? Usually relief valve and flow meter is at the same pipe return to tank.
Nicest pump room ever. Is this school for you guys?
What is the mark of this pump ?

What about 50% after churn? I guess we do things alittle different in Pittsburgh.
We take numbers at churn, 100%, and 150% in California
What's the equipment you've used in getting the rpm?
Tachometer
tachometer with a tachometer tape. put the tape on the shaft and point the tachometer at the shaft to get a reading of the tape
This was my Teacher at local 709.
I know these guys!
