Cheers for adding the mighty fairlane Au in the vid legend, sucks I couldn’t get out with you but looks like you had an absolute ball man and Stella driving! Car did great can’t wait to actually slide with you for once 😂
You dont need a thermostat. I had one stick shut in my b series, binned it and drove it every day for a couple years untill i got around to spending the $29 for a new thermostat. Only downside is in winter as the thing took ages to warm up so the heater took ages to blow warm air.
you were talking about running stiffer springs in the back and i know you mentioned not coilovers but i was running toyota 86 coilovers in the rear of my au and it was stiff as, not sure if its something youd be interested in but i can give them to you if you want only issue is im in western sydney lol
Killing it. Is there currently pre load on the rear spring? You can raise the rear strut tops to put more tension/ pre load on the spring which will make it stiffer/ ride better actually having the shock work in its designed range of travel. Also a upgraded rear sway bar would also help but I reakon going back to the ve coilovers is your best bet but ditching the stupid cone style spring and going to a normal coilover type spring. Will make them much like the proper hsd au falcon rear coilover. My road rego drifter au was set up with xyz front coilovers with 14kg springs front and the ve coilover rear but with a normal same length spring as front but roughly 12kg and works mint. Once you start chasing more power you can go a higher spring rate front and lower in the rear to chase more grip. But for now 10-12kg rear would be the go. All you need to do is clearance out inside the chassis so the new coilover spring can sit up inside the factory rear strut top with out hitting the spring and slightly modding the spring perch on the ve coilover so the normal type spring sits nicely ( just needs to be machined down a tiny bit)
Have you thought about bucket seats. You seem to be using door and centre console to brace ur legs a lot so might be more supportive with proper buckets
Bro with a stock au drifting you only need to run 50psi because you are burning through the middle oh the tyre at 60psi if you run the 50 psi you will use the whole tire except the middle
And add some shortened shocks and you will have the best budget spec spring and shock combo u could ask for considering it should not cost you anymore than it would if you where to take the mrs out for a half decent dinner date
Rex just wanted to let you know I tested positive for Covid on Feb 15th 2023. I had to stay in the house for 10 days. Really feel bad. I'm a high risk because I have acute asthma. Just thought I would like you know.
@@RexH yea motor mounts on falcons tend to snap quite often especially with clutch kicking. Worth a check just pop the bonnet and rev it see if the motor bounces around, with a bad trans mount it generally doesn’t move like that. If all else fails go to a solid mount. That’s what I’ve done just a bit more vibration but solid asf
4:02 surprised to see the AU smash a cone, usually only the owners do
Surprised to see you here lmao, btw your videos are funny asf
@@Alex-dj9ep haha appreciate it man
that would be a special drift event, almost as entertaining as a p plater on a late night maccas run. when you gonna be drifting your au yourak
Oi mate I’ve seen ur vids 😂 love ur work legend ❤️
the AU rinses the cones
Looks like so much fun dude. Cheers for the shout out, marc is legit.
thicker rear sway bar to tighten the rear up
Weld in a rear sway bar to stiffen up the rear end

Pedders sportsryder shocks are probably the best shocks out for the rear of an au
Don’t stop making au vids I absolutely love them
Thanks bro I’ll continue to do so 🙏👍🥰😍😤
long live rex
good to see you back out rexton
Try a uprated rear swaybar to limit body roll and softness in the rear
Also a heavy rated rear coil spring may help

I run king springs in the rear on my au, stiff af
Come so far in drifting, would love some outside shots next track day 👌
Put r33 front coil overs in the rear just need to get a bushing to reduce the bolt hole size to the r33 coil over
Have you thought about bucket seats. You seem to be using door and centre console to brace ur legs a lot so might be more supportive with proper buckets
I respect all your videos man
Thanks Brodie :)
Love the drift au content
Bro I'm keen to get to Calder now that I'm in Victoria
Popped tyres is better than bining the tuff rig.
Try an clutch kick more
Hsd have coilovers for the rear for au I think
Potentially
Bro with a stock au drifting you only need to run 50psi because you are burning through the middle oh the tyre at 60psi if you run the 50 psi you will use the whole tire except the middle
Why size tyer were u running on the the shark fins
Chop some heavy duty tow rated springs🎉🎉
And add some shortened shocks and you will have the best budget spec spring and shock combo u could ask for considering it should not cost you anymore than it would if you where to take the mrs out for a half decent dinner date
Put space savers for a SUV on the rear end......
Please buy a high quality exhaust manifold for the turbo.
Bistareshity Lancer..

Not only that, you got it twice !!! Cheers bro
@@RexHalso that movement on throttle with the shifter is likely engine mount not trans mount
@@7_au I hope not cuz I just replaced with oem new ones 🥹
