The SD card slot on the bottom is for your dash cam. The SD card slot on the side is for your internal memory for media, maps, and so on. You got it backwards my guy.
Helpful info 1. You do not need a computer to update which everyone was telling me to do wrong..thank you. 2. Must need to update the software first ...sometimes it tried to update both the map update and the the softeare at the same time which did not work.. do not uodate together first so I learned first to upload the software update first and then the map updates which started automatically ! Just follow the prompts . Hope this helps others. I never restarted it it just started with the update. It is wireless so it just needs to be plugged in my opinion. I am updating as we speak. Thanks.

Any suggestions on how to tighten the window mount up.. while driving my GPS, it wants to keep laying down flat towards the dashboard. Is there any way to tighten that pin up? It's like the arm itself that goes up and down is loose..Thx

Are you sure about the micro so card slot?According to garmin the map data card is located on the side of the unit below the power button,not where you said it was.
is the dashcam always recording or does it only record certain times? what is the purpose of the micro SD card slot on the side of the GPS? if all the memory is stored in the one on the back side? how can you tighten the GPS holder to stay in place even over potholes and bumps? the screen is so heavy, every time I drive over a pothole the screen face goes down.

Andrii Gumeniak I would venture to say the GPS is closer to your correct speed than you think. It takes 3 different satellites to calculate your position and speed
I updated the system and the map at this time. After that, it says it needs to restart for complete the installation so I did restart the update but It didn't finish installing the update. I waited for 6 hours to finish installing the update but it didn't. Any advice please from any one. Thanks

Check your internet connection. I have 300mbps Internet connection so whenever it needs to update my map updates takes 15 to 25 minutes and software updates takes 5 minutes to update.
Why an issue with you?? Bet if you get to go on vacation to his birth country you love knowing him to help you get to the best sightseeing places..smh at some ppl.

I am confused with the scard locations...garmin adviser say inside is for records video, but you said outside.
at minute 2:00, that memory slot is for system, not for dashcam. The memory slot for dashcam is actually on the bottom. So you got them reversed.

Maybe there’s a factory defect on your garmin you ask the store where you bought it to exchange it.

You need to change your micro sd card atleast 64gb. Also make sure when your updating it's plugged in.
