Damon Johnson was the singer. He is in a self titled 3-piece band now and he does this song and "And Fools Shine On" from Brother Cane. Saw him open for The Winery Dogs last night.

That is beyond cool! Me and my circle of musician friends were HUGE fans of this band. One of my bands here in CT covered a few of there songs..we jumped at the chance to see them in Northampton Massachusetts, at a place called the Iron horse, in support of the Seeds album. We just could not believe there were maybe 100 people there. Me and my guitar player were singing every word to every song. Damon came over and said "damn you guys know every song!" The band came off the stage after and talked with us, signed one of the posters for me. It was sooo funny, I know they came over to talk to us because our gf's were smokin hot. I'm an old road dog who knows that game all too well lmao! But it was Damon Johnson!! We didnt care :)
Heard this song and bought the album around ‘93, I’m thinking, and then bought the album Seeds! I heard they regrouped and are playing as of March 2022, so I’ve got to check the schedule!
Brother Cane, Drivin and Cryin, Cry Of Love, Screaming Cheetah Wheelies, Black Crowes, etc were all awesome bands. Great music that came from the early to mid 90's.
Tremendous rock and roll song from the 90s that nobody's ever heard. Astonishing harmonica playing throughout. A masterpiece of dirty southern rock, perhaps unequaled.

Awesome! Tight, kick-ass rock band! I love this song! I love it when a rock and metal band jumps right into the riffs of a song at point one, like this one! The harmonica player is straight up killing it! Nice!
I don't think these young generations know how to play these songs like this or even these guitars they don't even come close I'm glad I grew up in these days of listening to bands like this they were so talented
I saw these guys open for Bad Company & Lynyrd Skynyrd in Seattle in August of 1993. Didn't know who they were but they set the tone for the evening and liy the audience on fire with their energy! Actually bought their cd there at the venue between acts. Great memories!
Met these guys when I was working at a bar in Houston they played right when they hit it big. Great guys all of them. They have such a great sound and Damon's voice kicks ass.
Saw them live...needless to say they kicked ass ! Wish they endured... used to cover this song in one of the many cover bands I was in.. Folks Always dug it !
BROTHER CANE 2022 We are proud to announce the return of Brother Cane to the concert stage in 2022. The first confirmed performance is at The Northern Lights Theater in Milwaukee, WI on Friday, April 22 at 8PM (Purchase tickets here: www.paysbig.com/shows/brother-cane ) Joining frontman/guitarist Damon Johnson will be longtime collaborator Buck Johnson on keys, drummer Jarred Pope and original Brother Cane bassist Glenn Maxey. _________________________________________ Brother Cane is an American rock band originally from Birmingham, Alabama. Formed by singer/guitarist Damon Johnson and bassist Glenn Maxey in 1991, the group released three studio albums, charting several singles including three number 1’s and five top 10 hits. Brother Cane found immediate success with the release of its self-titled debut album in July 1993 which delivered three singles: "Got No Shame", “That Don’t Satisfy Me”, and “Hard Act To Follow.” “Got No Shame” reached #1 on the Mainstream Rock charts and garnered the band U.S. tours with Aerosmith, Robert Plant and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band's next album, Seeds (1995), yielded another #1 Rock track, the haunting and swampy “And Fools Shine On.” This hit led to a lengthy and successful tour in support of the mighty Van Halen. Three years later saw the release of Wishpool (1998) and Brother Cane’s third #1 song at Rock Radio, “I Lie In The Bed I Make”. After major personnel changes at Virgin Records (the band’s label), as well as a major shift in style at rock and alternative radio formats, the band laid down their instruments and called it a day in 2000. Over the next 20 years Johnson went on to become one of the most sought after guitarists and songwriters in rock. Touring extensively with rock icons like Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy, and co-writing tracks for the likes of Sammy Hagar, Stevie Nicks, Carlos Santana and Steven Tyler, Johnson’s profile steadily rose. 2019 found Johnson recording with producer Nick Raskulinecz, (Foo Fighters, Korn, Rush, etc.) and releasing the critically acclaimed debut from Damon Johnson & The Get Ready, 2020’s “Battle Lessons.” It was while supporting that record in 2021 that he received the call that any guitarist that grew up in the south could only dream of: filling in for Gary Rossington in the legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was while touring with Skynyrd that Johnson was pleasantly surprised at how many fans not only remembered Brother Cane, but shared their stories on how much the band and those songs meant to them. “Will you ever get back together? Would you ever tour again? Please!!??” Those big questions are now getting a big answer: “Hell Yes!” Brother Cane will be performing select dates in 2022 with plans for a full tour in 2023…and for some new music. “I’m just over the moon about this,” says Johnson. “Brother Cane fans are some of the most passionate that I’ve encountered in all of my travels.” He adds, “I'm certainly proud of all these songs, and the guys and I are looking forward to bringing them to the people once again.”
Caught them opening for Saxon and Judas Priest in 2018. They were terrific. The band I was in was based out of B'Ham, AL in 92-93 and played a couple early shows with BC when they were still called Chyld. B'Ham had a happening scene at that time. We did shows with Wanton Rut, who later became Virgos Merlot, and Vallejo Brothers, who moved to Austin in 94 and hit the big time a couple years later. Oh, we also opened for Screaming Cheetah Wheelies in Huntsville, AL, lol. Good times!
@@morebeer7673 Saw the same concert in London Ontario. Was TOTALLY disappointed, not in the band, but the sound was soooo bad, I could hardly make anything out. BTW, that, along with seeing DIO play the Heaven And Hell gigs twice just before he passed, were my two dream conerts! Priest and Saxon, along with Dio are my favorite bands!

I agree. Grunge sucked. A bunch of depressing garbage. During that era I was truck driving. Once I was laid over in Seattle for the weekend so I found me a bar.
