27:30 that dragon breath could have changed the game if it hit the green knight/fey enchantress instead of the tower. Either of them would probably have died, giving the zombies the swing they needed
Zombie dragon breath is pretty bad against small single entities, its really meant for killing cav or blobs of infantry, but yeah definitely better to hit them than the tower, unfortunate timing and positioning!

This battle might be the biggest argument for layering your defences like a Turin onion. Incredible, nail biting battle. I honestly thought the Bretonnians were done early on.
I think their defence in depth was smart but at the same time it plays into the hands of the undead. All that time to regen. All through the battle I was just champing at the bit when the black coach and the undead dragon were left to their own devices unmolested by the air cav of the bretonians. I think some of the trebuchets were pulled back a bit late as well, and a few times each Bretonnian defender was flanked from an unexpected angle. By splitting their attention between 2 seperate conflicts it makes the micro that much harder to pull off, and with fliers hanging around overhead that's just going to give you a headache. They had a good chokepoint near the top of the hill that wasn't used until very late into the battle.
Despite a few missing textures, this map looked amazing when compared to just about every official siege map in both games. I hope CA adds more varied maps in TWW3 seeing what their community is doing, the new fort maps are a start but they can do better.
This battle makes me want to watch more of Bretonnia now! Never really liked them to much since the Empire was always my go to human race in the game but this was a great high tier match up.

@@raynightshade8317 Could be kinda like Warriors; a mishmash of popular lords and heroes from across the series. You could diversify factions based on unique units from their games. Surprising end! I thought it was set up so disadvantageous for the defenders! There is almost no benefit to being defender, and feeding a full army small bits very ineffective. One stack may defeat three consecutive halfstacks with ease, right? I think most of the peasants did little but delay a bit, except the bowmen where given the chance to kill the mammoth and do lots of damage to other units. If there were more bottlenecks or the defenders didn't waste as many units it would have been a slaughter. All those elite units at the end should have been with the artillery and archers, maybe covering their retreat to a next bottleneck, slowly moving up?
