You shouldn’t add water to caustic soda it may explode or relase ammonia ,you should add caustic soda to water slowly

I don't understand if caustic soda is very dangerous and has to were gloves for safety reasons,thn why tht chemical is added in the soap base,is tht soap base is safe Eve, think abt it .....
@vakhariaaliyfa Caustic soda in the form of a weak lye solution is used for pickling fish and curing olives. So now decide for yourself. Perhaps you should go and attend some basic science classes to understand this.
Caustic soda reacts with oil and water and with the time gap becomes harmless. But it takes 10 to 15 days. Unfortunately people use before 15 days after making base. Use after 15 days

Nice end results! But what did you do off camera to get rid of the foam on top and the dried crystals that didn’t incorporate? I’m a cold process soap maker, so please don’t say it dissolved on its own. I never made melt and pour soap though. 🌹

Many videos they have mentioned that it has to left for curing for 45 days for the caustic soda not to cause skin irritation is it so pls confirm..or the one u have shown in the video can it be used immediately
Curing is for soap to harden, the saponification process is completed after about 12-24 hrs. During this chemical process the lye (caustic soda) will have finished reacting with the other ingredients and will no longer cause irritation.
Kya sirf coconut oil chalta hai dusra liya toh jaise vegetables ayurvedic oil with glycerine etc etc..

I'm 1:34 in and have stopped watching. You never pour water on top of lye (caustic soda). You always put the lye into the water, or you could have dangerous results, especially at higher quantities. Scrolling down to your ingredients list, you have more than double your water amount to your lye amount, again very dangerous ... it should ALWAYS be minimum 1:1 to dissolve your lye correctly and completely. If you are going to publish your videos to UA-cam, you should at least attempt to follow ALL safety protocols, not just wearing a glove on a single hand.
FINALLY someone else reacted to one of that main and many safety No Nos for chemistry/soap making!😬 I was waiting for a violent reaction to the water addition to the lye.🤦🏽♀️

Water content as solute should be ideally 0.0724g times against 1g of total solution excluding water.
A lot of madness goes on on this UA-cam. Please whoever you are PLEASE how on earth did you arrive at 200 gr Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) for 924 gr of Coconut Oil??? Thjs recipe will burn, dry out and blister your skin. DON'T TRY IT because Sodium Hydroxide quantity is WAY OFF.
PLEASE 160.86gr Sodium Hydroxide is the correct amount for 924hr Coconut oil. Even at that it'll will still dry out the skin (but at least not burn and blister the skin) on because of high content of Oil. Other oils should be added in order to make a usable soap.
@@VicToria-sd1dn hello and how are you doing? As a veteran soap maker, one can use only one oil if they choose to make soap. 100% of Olive Oil would be considered Castile soap. You can even use 100% coconut oil to make soap, but that’d be too drying on some peoples skin. 900 grams of sodium hydroxide is equivalent to 7 Oz’s. 87 grams of water equals 3 Oz’s. That’s too little of liquids for that amount of sodium hydroxide. I have a soap recipe for 55 Oz’s. The water amount is 17.60 and the lye amount is 7.53. The sodium hydroxide amount will NEVER be greater than the water amount. I really don’t know HOW the person above us got those way off figures. They’re trying to fry somebody‼️😫😫🤣🙅🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

If you control the temperature not more than 80 C• it would be white and crystal clear

@@alexandrastratanphotographer try to control the heat of oils especially after mixing in the lye solution. Keep it not more than 80 degrees Celsius.
There is a short cut to make mp base ( crystal or white)
you heat up the oils and while you are doing this heat up the cocamidopropyl buitaine and propylene glycol make all of them reach 80 degrees C I normally use a pot to heat the oils and shuff the propylene glycol and cocamidopropyl B in the microwave/ save a lot of time. While these are heating up I mix the lye
Then I pour the solvent and surfactant into melted oil.
Check the temperature
Pour hot lye into hot oil carefully ***really really carefully*** one of the reason to control the temperature of oils , if it’s too hot you will get a volcano out of your pot
So not more than 80-85 max is the ideal.
When things seems like the saponification is completed which it should not take a long time because we work in the heat. Maybe 20-30 mins top. You got the hot sorbitol stand by. Yes. Must be very hot as well then you add the hot
Sorbitol into the rest, finished!

Sorry I can not give away the % due to depends on what kind of base do you want and I am not the expert of the myth of MP base. But if you want I could give away the recipe I use. It’s very nourishing yet because of high curtain of oil makes the mp firm up slowly. It’s perfect for making mp soap without complicated design but it won’t squeak out your skin I promise!!!
