He plays solid and he moves his fingers quick, but I just feel like the electric accordion is a way of changing the instrument to fit more genres, instead of learning how to fit the instrument to them. The accordion is a really underrated instrument, that should be played much more, but this way of trying to revive it, kinda undermines the culture of it, in my opinion. He should not be hated on though, he is a really good player, I'd just love to see him play acoustic.
He's a fine acoustic player, primarily for classical and ethnic music, but he is on a mission to revive the accordion in the public eye, in the context of music that is more widely listened to.
The electrification of this instrument does not help people like it. It’s MIDI music that sounds very plastic with no need to use the bellows. Very white sounding results. Cory plays so densely too that it’s simply unmusical. He comps 16th note chords on “Get Lucky” which is so unlike the original that it does the song no justice. Some of this music just doesn’t fit the accordion, so why force it at the expense of music quality? He obviously has good technique, but he uses it to destroy the music rather than support it. It sounds like a Casio keyboard from the 90’s with cheesy sounds. I’m surprised he likes the electric so much when it sounds so weak.
I would say search some other accordion players like Borko Radivojevic, Aca Cergar or Dragan Bosanac Stojkovic and then tell me if this dude over here is ‘The best accordion player’ in the world. The Americans think that they are the only country in this world.
In my humble opinion there are much better accordionist than him. Also I am not a very big fan op the digital accordion. The acoustic one sounds way better.
Cory is very conscious and very respectful of the other great players around the world. He's just very savvy with publicity, and using his notoriety to try to increase the visibility of the accordion in the US, where it's not given as much credit as in the rest of the world.

Should not really hear the keys and your fingers making noise. Sounds terrible.
If you can appreciate music, you can look past superficial things
Re wowwwww
This was awful
This kind of hackneyed crap can be played on any instrument. This does nothing to help the image of the accordion.
