I recommend wrap the bone with some foil that way it dont burn and easier to handle it. I also use salt pepper and a brown sugar rub and comes out amazing
Your explanation is terrific. Thank you. I knew I had to watch a video from a woman. The men just run and are all but clear. 🙏👏🏼👏🏼 Plus you didn’t blacken the outside. Way healthier!
Tomahawk looks so delicious. One of this days I will try one. Enjoyed the video because it shows everything step by step. Great information on cooking that delicious steak. Have a wonderful day.
I bought a 4 bone rib eye last month, and cut 2 individual steaks, and left the bigger end for a 2 bone roast. YUM! Cooked the steaks just the way you presented, and oh boy the taste.
If you allow the steak to dry brine long enough, the moisture comes out of the meat and then goes back in, with the salt as a seasoning. Wiping of the excess salt and moisture after the dry brine sets the steak up for a proper sear when it's reached the desired internal temp.
I recently won a Tomahawk at a meat raffle in northern Wisconsin. While I don’t have a charcoal grill I will make do on a propane grill using the same techniques. Thanks for the great video. BTW we love butter in Wisconsin
I could not find email to contact... Would you do a Buck Board Bacon? Its making bacon with the pork shoulder instead of the pork belly. I wish you try it and I think the fams would love it. Its like ham met bacon and had a baby.
@@Heygrillhey The worst thing is... Even if you raise your own beef, and have it processed. The processor actually charges you more for tomahawks vs plain ribeyes.
Wait till they rip you off for this steak just because they have a useless bone attached they must charge $30 extra. 😢 just the way a steak house will charge for nothing.
@ShortDogg16 still don't get it. Just because it's a "special " occasion you should pay extra money to celebrate? to each their own.. I'll save my money, tho...
Yeah, generally if people are celebrating something at all they're putting extra money into the experience. What's the difference between buying a few fun decorations and buying a bone-in ribeye? That's what makes it a celebration. Spend your money how you want, but I'll always think it's fun to cook up a tomahawk for kids' birthdays or whatever.

excellent video
Just grabbed one of these for my son's 10th birthday! Can't wait for his reaction. Thank you for making this video and keep up the great work!
Thank you for another kettle video! And that time lapse of the dry brine was AWESOME.

Looks so good!

Looks absolutely amazing!! Definitely going to try this!
Great video by the way
WOW!!! Looks fantastic....Can't wait to try your method...Thanks!
How does the liquid that comes out of the steak during brining, go back into the meat while cooking, if it’s wiped and patted dry?

Wow, Susie! That steak looks delicious! 😋😋😋😋🥩🥩🥩🥩
At what temperature do you sear the steak? Great video!
It depends on what level of done-ness you're after! I like to pull it off 10-15 degrees before and sear. -Brandon
@@Heygrillhey anything past medium rare you may as well throw your money in the charcoal, awesome thanks!!
This seems to me well done.
That's one great looking steak, Susie. I have made only one so far, and it tasted really good. Guess now i will need to give another one a try
Have you seen or heard of weber accessory for 22inch called All In 1?!!!!
I have seen one! Never used one though.
Good evening

We'll put it on the list and see if it happens!
It’s decorative.👇🏼
Looks delish. But it doesn’t look medium rare. More like medium to medium well. Which is fine by me. Im flexible.
Everyone wants to try this until they realize that a $20 ribeye costs $70 for a decretive handle.
Eh, it's fun every once in a while. I wouldn't do tomahawks regularly but for special occasions it's fine.
@@Heygrillhey The worst thing is... Even if you raise your own beef, and have it processed. The processor actually charges you more for tomahawks vs plain ribeyes.
Bone really doesn't weigh much, and that's way more than a $20 ribeye
@@jdoane1522 I guess the cost depends on where you live, and if you process your own meat.👍🏼
Local butcher shop had them on sale for $13.99 a lb.
Gotta get my tomahawk tonight
I might cry. All that trouble to cook it to perfection and then you lose all the juice by not letting it rest for at least 10-15 mins? 😭
Ignore the haters I love a tomahawk or cowboy steak, a plain ribeye is lame and basic. ❤🥩
8 orders please
Wait till they rip you off for this steak just because they have a useless bone attached they must charge $30 extra.
😢 just the way a steak house will charge for nothing.
Thats definitely not medium rare
wtf, did you grill your hair?
No lol
I don't get it.. why pay ALL that extra money for a bone.. buy yourself a big ribeye and save 30 bucks...
It's fun! It adds to the experience. We usually make these for birthdays and stuff. Sometimes it's not all about paying the minimum price.
She knew this was coming! lol listen to Susi's first line again!

@@dennis9358 no one's asking you to "get it." Not everything is for everyone. But a lot of things are for a lot of people. Stick to your $5 chuck...
