And I realized that learning their language and culture was my way of paying respects to the tangata whenua and Maori ancestors that toiled these lands. And hearing this kapa haka group sing a tribute song from my beloved Samoa really put me to tears and really did make me proud to be a Samoan. All the pronunciation was on point. Madluv to all my Maori brothers and sisters❤❤❤❤❤❤

I've watched this more than I can remember over the last 3 years. The pronunciation and transition between both languages is flawless. The delivery and conviction in and of their message has me humbled as a Samoan. This is pure and beautiful, and not just from a cultural perspective. I was norn and raised in Samoa and moved here before I was 10 with my family. Over the years of living in Aotearoa, this is my favourite display of both cultures as one. On any stage. Ever. Thank you for this... 3 years on, and for as long as I have the means of watching it.
This was awesome! And like many kiwi Samoans, we were immersed in the Maori culture growing up and have many Maori 'brothers and sisters'. Even though there were times I was treated 'less than' for being Samoan, I would tell my younger self now, that it is okay and to stand strong and proud coz we were all fighting the same fight as kiwis.
