Our younger generation of Navajo, need to be learn these stories, and look at themselves ,when they think, they're going through hard times. Need to be taught in schools.
Good, sad story. I went to Canyon de Shelly (duh-SHAY) back in 1988. Very special, magical place. The walk into the canyon and to the White House ruins is a must. Several scenic road pulloffs to view into the canyon. At one I loudly hollered "hey" and counted 17 echoes. I'll remember this as long as I live.
The reason I hollered "hey" was that there was a native American down at the bottom of the canyon herding sheep. I wanted to see if they could hear me from so far away. If they did I couldn't tell but the many echoes surprised.
I got so lost in listening to this fact in history ( we never learned in our schools) my heart was already reacting 💔❤️🩹 I love everyone no matter your nation 💞
What more do you never hold people want it's your people from history that didn't make it good for your generation the Pueblos from the Spaniards didn't like you guys you guys were named navajos for a certain good reason
Navajo people could care less what the Spanish and Pueblos thought about them.google Onates disease,Spanish and Pueblos suffer from this disease being inbreeds..
Doesn’t Matter.. Definitely Proud to say I’m Navajo.. even if it’s means something Derogatory by Whoever and Whatever.. My forefathers survived the long walk.. some didn’t go to Fort Sumner on the Pecos River.. As Navajos were are still here and Mercilessly Resilient..
