ANDROID DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS:
1. From your android device Go to APKMirror website ( apkmirror.com ) and search for blackmagic camera app
2. find the latest version or the desired app version to download
you should find a page where it says download apk or download .apkm file
for example: this link directly opens a page for a specific app version
where you can download the file
www.apkmirror.com/apk/blackma...
you will download a .apkm file
Note: .apk files are the files that are installed on our Android devices to install any app, there are other formats in general
but for the context of this case let's say that APKMirror uses a type of file named .apkm
3. after downloading the .apkm file
install APKMirror app on your android device
open the app and find the .apkm file you just downloaded to install the app
4. Hopefully the app will be installed if there are no issues and you can run it
just note that Android 14 is required for the app to install and work ( as of today for app version 1.0.00048 )

Hey Michael! I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and followed the directions but I ran into my auto blocker that kept me from installing the app but I turned it off and then installed the app and turned my auto blocker back on. It works great, thanks!
How did you turn your auto blocker off?

I have loaded it on my s22ultra and it's restricted to 4k 30fps and all the zooms are at 1080p at30fps a serious downgrade from the pro video app from Samsung which gives 4k 60fps in all lenses 😢

Kind of a Bummer For no Codec Options.
Google Might (Or should ) add Xocn by Sony, Dnx by Avid, Cineform by Gopro and open the gates for Codec Compatiblity if Blackmagic is going to make revolutionary one in future.
Also you might need to use Pixel 9 pro coming in August for Best experience possible cause it's Pixel, It may have much more Power to Record and handle seamlessly These Formats.

I REALLY miss the Audio Monitoring function. Anyone have another Android app alternative with this function natively?
I have a Galaxy S22, that means I can't get the function in the native camera app by installing Samsung's Camera Assistant cuz this specific feature it's only available for S23 and S24 family...

Using Samsung S21 Ultra with Android 14 - Downloaded the latest version but won't install. Keeps taking me to the DJI Ronin app for some reason when I click the file

Has anyone made a matrix chart of all the IOS and Android cell phones that can run the BlackMagic Camera App and what features out of all the possible features each phone in the matrix can do?
If someone wanted to buy a new phone to be their BMD camera (besides being their cell phone) what cell phones support all of the app's possible features, and how and where would the recorded video be stored, and how could you then get it off the phone for editing on a PC or Mac?
iPhone will probably always get latest and best features. You can either record internally or on iPhone record to an external drive and use that to directly go to computer

Xiaomi 13T here and same issues, 49-50mm works okay, 24mm&15mm is all greenscreen

Just an update on my previous comment, if I'm being honest on my s22 ultra the native camera app both standard video, and pro video apps are far better than the black magic camera app they have far better picture quality 👍
But expensive android can handle "RAW video" easily!!
Woohoo, this worked on an android a72 running a V14..
Side load was the first thing that i did when i read that my S22 was not suported.
Installed the app, when oppened the app the ui was miss aligned and only showed a black screen.
Fliping the phone horizontally make the preview come back, and everyting works.
Aside from the cloud, not worth using, it has less codec options than the native app.
My wife has a samsung 23 ultra, and the first things I noticed were that she could film in 8k, and that there were no timecode options.
In fairness, with regard to using an external drive, most android phones can be easily seen by computers in the same way as an external card reader, so getting a video file into resolve (on a pc at least) would not be a difficult task.
Now, all I need to do is find a way to hijack that 8k camera away from the missus so I can compare it with my r5!
The word any is just thrown around nowadays...
If you guys are serious about video try Motion cam instead, you get RAW video and Log from RAW of the sensor directly.
Black magic is absolutely useless if you care about video quality and control of the output.
Yes you will need an Android for it but it's miles away from anything you can get from the iPhone.
