Sold my Note 8 for V30 and never looked back. Note 8 is too narrow and has a sluggish UI while V30 has better camera experience, audio, battery, lighter, better call reception and mobility. Note 8 had better screen, front cam and pen but the V30 overall had more important features for me. Namely the sound and camera.
I love the v30+ and have always been a samsung user. I chose to try somethong ekse fkr exactky that reason mentioned, tbe note 8 is too.narrow and feels like plastic. I adore tbe v30 and can say so many.good things about it, but not the camera. It doesn't work for me. Ive seen stunning photos taken by others posted on forums. But I get better photos effortlesy on my galaxy s4 and s6 edge in automatic mode. I can.barely ever get a good picture in automatic mode on v30 and don't have time for manual mode.
Forgot to mention Note 8 is also comparatively bad in low light (search Tube), and no wide angle which I use 50% of the time. If you want portrait mode, just download Gcam mod which allows the V30 to use the Pixels software and effects.
maxr4073 If you double tap the top of the screen, you can use the fingerprint to unlock, as the status bar is part of the software. Using Nova with no issue. If you use an external app to lock the screen, you cannot use fingerprint.
Great point on how it needs to get OREO right now. I've owned the last three out of four flagship phones (skipped the L6 CURRENTLY OWE A V30+) over been loyal customer for them so they need to show me and all customers some updates
My last 3 or 4 phones have been Lg. I have loved them and have stuck with them because I like the layout of them. I am somewhat disappointed with my current V10 though. At just shy of 1 year it got stuck in bootloop they did replace it with a new one and it has been ok, but shortly after getting the new one, it started having issues with the screen burning an imprint of the previous app or screen you were on. It fades but then a new one appears. It's faint and I've gotten used to it , but this week I'm up for a new phone and am highly considering the Samsung Galaxy S9 plus. I have not had issues with other Lg phones but this one hasn't been the best and the lack of software updates is also frustrating. I may make the change to Samsung.
Aaaand the notification LED, i'm not a selfie addict however better front camera would be hugely appreciated, but the notification LED drives me crazy to this day (been using it for 3months)
Double tap to sleep actually works even if you are using a non stock launcher like pixel launcher. You just have to hit double tap in the status bar instead of hitting in the space in the home. It works like those custom rom mods back in the days where you can double tap the status bar to sleep. Anyways, you videos are amazing!
I have all Galaxy s to s6. I like to root my phone due to the fact that Galaxy phones lags after a while. But USA Galaxy S7 and above phones have a lock boot loader so I can't stand the lag experience. This is my first lg phone and I am very happy that I took the chance. Fast, smooth, no screen issue, perfect screen size, amazing bat, great audio dac, great main shooter camera, front facing camera is a meh...but great phone aver all. Proud LG V30 owner..
Bought my v30 last week and I love it. Wayyyyy better than the g6. One thing I noticed though is that it freezes quite often like when I was listening to apple music I'd pull it out my pocket and the phone would not respond at all. Waiting on Oreo tbh. Battery life is stellar! Better than any android phone these days.....
Having a bad app for the camera doesn't mean that the camera is actually bad. Just try the Google Camera ported app from xda developers and you will be really surprised. The front camera is not bad at all, I can say that it is pretty good. It is just the LG camera really bad. So don't make the mistake to say that the Camera (hardware) is bad, because it isn't. I think that it is the second best android phone from 2017, after Pixel 2XL, also talking about the price/money value.
Such reviews always miss the point. Watching this on my V30+ - it's a KICKASS PHONE - amazing screen, battery, performance, software, KICKASS cameras, amazing looking phone - there ARE NO CONS! Ok maybe front cam, but in good light it works fine. And all that for HALF the price of those overpriced Pixels & Apples. Silly people don't buy it coz it's LG, are just missing out on the best smartphone this year at a kick ass price! 🤣
Con, picture quality. Get a decent 5k display & LG's over the top software processing to compensate for small sensors is obvious in the worst way. Still very happy w/ my V30 but it's true
I have the LG V30. I love it. I agree with everything you've said, except the SIM tray, could just be your model. I love the speed, the rear camera, the display, the battery, the sound quality, the LG customisation options, the size, and design. I hate Snapchat on it, but then again it's not a deal breaker for me as I don't use it often anyway, the front facing camera is abysmal but then again I don't take selfies so it's fine. I hate the fact it isn't updated yet, but hopefully it'll be added soon. My favourite thing about the phone though is definitely the wide angled lens. It is simply amazing. Overall, I'd say it's a bit pricey (I got it cheaper thanks to a new year deal), but definitely worth it and massively underrated
Kevin Ramos Well it can do two days easily on moderate usage. And about a day and a half on normal usage and a day on heavy. On average I'll do a day and a bit, however I charge it regularly because I like having a full charge
So many sites complained about the display but it appears that it has been fixed. Nice video as always and LG is slow on software updates. It's also worth mentioning the V30+ no longer has the P-OLED screen but instead a regular OLED screen
FYI. You can use other launchers an still double tap to sleep. What you do is double tap the status bar at the top of the screen to put the phone to sleep. with the stock launcher, you can click anywhere on the home screen to put the phone to sleep. As for your unit, you should look into getting a warranty replacement. The gap in the sim tray could affect its water resistance performance.
There is also a double tap to wake function on the s8 and s8 plus... choose only the home key to show on the always on display and disable all security features... now when you double tap the home key, it goes to the home screen right away...
Sorry Tim but I have been enjoying my V30 with Oero 8.0 with official update since the beginning of January. It's a regional thing, something to keep in mind.
Raja Mag Dich sorry about it. But like I said, it's a regional problem. It's a Korean company and Korea started beta in December, received final version in January. Sorry about the rest of the world, soon you'll receive I'm sure
Melih Ergundogdu Nope. LG released the FINAL version of Android 8.0 in Korea in December and only there. I don't know one single other region where LG released Android 8.0 for the V30 until now. and this is a shame. Even Samsung releases Android 8.0 worldwide within a few weeks and even this is not very good...
Raja Mag Dich so you are telling me when lg is releasing stuff in Korea even if I live in Korea and you are in Germany or wherever that's not Korea . I understand it's very annoying, and everyone should receive these at the same time, be patient, oreo or not, v30 is an amazing device
The V series has been the only choice for me purely due to the sound quality. Listening to music is, by far, my most used feature and it delivers. To buy a dedicated audio player equivalent would cost hundreds alone. I cannot get over companies eliminating the headphone jack.
Updated to this phone after my Note 3 started to fail, it's a no compromise phone, literally nothing compares. It might not be the best at everything or anyting, but it is above-average and doesn't lack anything, which makes it the best in my book!!
6:23 mate 10 pro puts it (or maybe every other flagship) to shame here as i take it out of charging at 90% as i only charge it to full once a month and even from 90%, after 24 hours with 5+ hours of screen on time it stays where lg v30 is here.
It's a great phone. I currently have a V30+ & it's great. Especially battery life. I've gotten over five hours of screen on time. I average about six plus. Outstanding phone. Only wish it had OREO 8 OR 8.1 AND I wish it was a Lil bit heavier
Hey Tim... If you use a different launcher you can still double tap to turn display off, if you double tap the status bar. Also another tip, turn skin tone and beauty modes to 0. It makes the front camera change from horrible to OK.
That recess that you are noticing on the sim tray may be because of that rubber lip around it, YOURS may be damaged or worn out.. new ones makes the recess non-noticeable
I love my V30+. It's fast. It looks great. I always get people asking what it is (part of LG's marketing problem) but it leaves an impression and people say it's beautiful. The cameras are just incredible (apart from the front. But honestly it's more than good enough since I never use it). People are in awe of the pictures I take so am I. The screen is just excellent too. I also get incredible battery life. And yes, the vibration motor really is actually quite good. When you turn the on screen "dials" in the hifi dac menu, it really feels like turning a very high quality knob. Same when taking a screen shot. It's feels like it clicks. Also the same when zooming. The V30 is a winner but LG's marketing isn't.
Kevin Ramos It is really great to be honest. I sometimes get 7 hours screen on time and sonetimes it'll even go 2 days off the charger and I still get 5 hours screen on time. It's really good.
I own a Note 8 and a V30, I use the V30 as a music player and as a backup or an outdoor/hiking phone/camera. The Note 8 is a better daily driver. Hope both get Oreo sooooooon
I've owned the V30 since nov and I gotta I love it but there are issues. Just waiting for the Oreo update since it was released in Korea. My favorite features has to be the DACs and the camera (with a different camera app for better quality as LGs adds a blur filter automatically)
Kevin Ramos main issue is uneven screen backlighting, leds are brighter than some. The weirdest issue is where the screen (especially on lower brightness) has agitating effect with black images with a grey background. What I can tell is that the leds slowly go from black to grey or have some sort of delay, for example in netflix scrolling movies with black images makes the black drag behind the image like a ghosting or blurr effect. My first LG v30 didn't have that issue but I might have to send this in to replace the screen
Hey Tim. You can double tap to sleep with another launcher if you double tap the Nav bar. Great video. I always enjoy watching and look forward to getting your notification for a new video.
Tim great second look at the V 30. It is great phone. It will be interesting to see what LG does for the refresh they have planned for the phone this spring.
I like that you noticed the vibration motor. Nobody else care about this I think but in my opinion it's pretty important and on Android nobody comes even close to the vibration motor on the V30...
I totally agree, the haptic feedback is awesome, i bought & sold lots of phones recently, from my daily driver s8+, note8, and others in short time like htc u11+, 1+5t, pixel2xl, ipx, mix2, and finally the only one i carry around is V30Plus, from beautiful material + great battery life+ good ram management, i love it Lol
You dont have to use the LG launcher for the double tap feature, I'm currently using Nova Launcher and it works with it as well. So far the phone has performed beautifully with zero lag or stuttering. The quad DAC does sounds great BTW.
Love my LGV30. The one phone with everything. OLED display, headphone jack, DAC, wireless charging, expandable memory, waterproof, fingerprint scanner, faceID, and voice unlock, regular lens and wide angle (only one with wide angle). Only thing this needs better is front camera but I don't take selfies so who cares and could use stereo speakers instead of the single mono speaker. iPhones have the best internal speakers. Price point is ok too.
With nova launcher gestures you can double tap to lock your phone (so that kinda helps) but the thing is that you can't double tap to wake your phone.... they need to implement that.
Andri Novius Smart people will just buy an S9 or S8 lol None of these stupid compromises while being very similar overall. I'd buy an iPhone X before this just for the fact that it's better for socials and has a more attractive UI
I love mine! Literally the only issue I have with it is the location of the headphone jack, should've been on the bottom. Also, the volume buttons are on the left rather than right (i prefer them on the rear like my G4) they sometimes get pressed with tje Daydream viewer while using VR, making the volume go FULL up or FULL down. That's all. Front camera should've been 8mp like the G4, after G4 they just dropped the ball... Everything else is great.
My SIM tray is also not perfectly flush, so it is not just yours. Not sure if it is common though. And Snapchat is horrible on the V30. Also you can use knock code to wake up with a different launcher and double tap to sleep on the top of the screen in the notification area. Not ideal, but it is worth it to avoid the LG launcher.
Joey Barretta I have the iPhone X but I was thinking about getting the V30 as a backup or an S8, would you say the S8 is horrible on Snapchat too or just the v30
im pretty sure that you can double tap the notification bar anytime to lock the screen so u dont have to use the stock launcher for that (at least you could do that on the g3, i dont think they removed that feature)
Came from a Nexus 6P with 32GB internal storage. Take a few 10 minute videos and you'd be out of space - uploading to Google Photos before removing the local copy is still less than ideal. Whereas for my V30, I simply got a 64GB microSD for < $30 and 4K videos I go, something few people mention.
Thanks for this video! If I want to vlog using the V30's (superior) rear-facing camera, how do I make sure I'm centered in the camera? (Since I won't be able to see the screen?)
Because its the same specs and size, but comes with twice the storage (which is redundant because it has expandable storage) and with B&O earbuds. Aside from that is the same phone.
Because its basically a V30 with a larger storage capacity, it's more like making different videos on Note 8 with 128 GB storage and 256GB storage, why i don't really see much a reason to actually make a video on that and i personally think adding a plus to the name just for a storage increase is a bad move from LG. I'm personally find the new red color or the V30 a more exciting thing, and of course the possible improved version of V30 that we might see in MWC. I make tech contents with a unique style. If you are free kindly do give my channel a try.
Watching this with V30. The battery can stand with 6 hrs screen-on facebook, web and messaging in my 16 hrs. Much better than v20. And 2019 Q2 V30 will be upgraded to 9.0 Pie
Ehh, did that say 13° F in the notification bar? Damn... and I though it was cold here! Considered this phone but I'm pretty happy with my U11. Nevertheless, great video man.
I've had it since October. Good phone. Very smooth. I will say the front facing camera sucks. If you take alot of selfies or do alot of vlogging with front facing camera I can't recommend it. Otherwise the phone rocks.
I have the LG V20 great phone. Problem: 1. LG does not full support its devices I'm still on the 7.0 Nougat the phone was released with. 2. They removed the IR blaster they had n the V20...so the V30 does have it. 3. V20 second was extremely useful don't kn why they went to the software version of it it was not broke why change it. LG really isn't giving me hope it will get better as i learned they are now cancelling G7 so is there going to be a V40?
i've had performance issues with mine sadly. I wanted to love the phone and I really did in every way except the performance. A lot of apps and games have short stutters. Not like a full freeze or anything but it happens really frequently, around 2 - 5 times a minute. The fps was okay but the frame times were always all over the board.
...With so many manufacturers cutting out the 3.5 on their primo handsets (Thank Apple for starting THAT ridiculous trend!), the V30 has pretty much gone unchallenged with the dedicated on-board DAC and headphone amp... It's an audiophile's dream... Just about every audio-related app out there is channeled through the internal goodies and out the Jack! With some excellent headphones (And even anything that will connect to the 3.5 via cable), you get some killer results!
Crazcompart it is good that a small niche market like yours is catered for. Unfortunately it is not a main feature required by users, Samsung phones sell in bucket loads and their DAC is poor. Sales of LG phones are in terminal decline with years of losses, and rumor is that they are closing down sales in areas like China. In Europe it is not that popular, only the US is keeping their smart phone business going, lot of loyal hard core fans despite the terrible updates and bootloop issues. They need to find a feature that matters, Pro camera and DAC will just see them sink into oblivion. For us in the UK £800 is a very unfunny joke by LG who didn’t even release the v10 and v20 in our region! LG flagship phones are synonymous with mid range prices, the G6 was about £450 a month after launch, madness to even think this is worth the money and of course carriers aren’t bothered with such a poor seller. The v30 will make a tiny minority happy but in all other respects it is a terrible buy with crap second hand value, poor updates (likely to get worse) and nothing that gives it a wow factor for the masses. This is the archetypal no-buy and why LG is now a forgotten brand to the vast majority of us.
Snapchat is also horrendous on the G6, so much so that I just uninstalled it...and as far as the front facing camera, I found that it preforms better if you’re using the google camera app with portrait mode turned on (at least for the G6 it’s way better)
I really hate that the app switcher(square) softkey on LG phones are bigger in comparison to the circle and triangle. Maybe I am just nitpicking, but it's really annoying. And there's no way to change it either.
So that screen on time is actually quite bad as compared to a pixel 2 which I am using which has got a 2700 MH battery. It gives me a SOT of 05hr and 40 mins and has even gone upto 06 hr and 40 mins.
I love the v30! Been using it since launch in Australia. No Oreo yet but it is out for some unlocked models in the US and in South Korea. Also received January security patch on Jan 11 which was impressive. The auto brightness is fine for me and I like the stock launcher, but I'm like that with every phone I like the widgets you get only on the stock launcher. Use a pixel camera port as well as main camera app and between the two your selfies are fine. But yes there is no getting around Snapchat being bad, which is 100% Snapchat's fault.
The V30 is awesome, but it's too expensive, so I went with the G6. That was roughly 5 or so months ago. Still working great, hasn't really slowed down any.
I really like the V30, honestly a great phone, but one reason why I am using Nova over stock launcher is that whenever I hit the app drawer, it 9/10 has like a 2 second hang from hitting the button to showing the app drawer, no clue why it does it. I've changed animations to .5 for everything. I restart it almost every morning. still has this problem for the past month since I got it, rather frustrating tbh. idk if this is a reoccurring issue or is it just with mine?
then it just looks messy, other than making numerous folders to hide the clutter. I like having the apps I regularly use on the home screen, not every app I have on my phone. Just find it odd how there is such a bug that it just hangs a bit before showing the app drawer.
All you're doing is reiterating what everyone already knows about the V30. "The worst thing about the V30 is the Snapchat app"? How about saying "the one thing I've found that's not all that great is when you use this phone's camera and Snapchat". You made it sound like the camera completely sucks overall and even worse on Snapchat, when in all actuality the V30's camera is great. To use everyone's newest scapegoat...I'm just saying..
DuckieGamez Mc as far as what has been released the update may just be added AI chip and more storage That is all that has been said right now They may change other things a little bit like cameras etc but nothings been said yet

kaijuhk I would do just tbe same.LG V30 is the better phone and, much better than the note 8
Robert Fan You don't have time
for manual mode? Just hold down the camera icon and make the manual mode shortcut your main camera icon.
Forgot to mention Note 8 is also comparatively bad in low light (search Tube), and no wide angle which I use 50% of the time. If you want portrait mode, just download Gcam mod which allows the V30 to use the Pixels software and effects.
kaijuhk he said he didnt have time for it
Most underrated phone ever :(
jamsheer ali all lg are underrated but if that phone did have a "samsung" icon it will be the best selling phone ever
definitely agree. The most underrated phone of last year although I will say the HTC U11 and mate 10 are a distant second and third.
or pixel & apple ... other things get trown out
It's a sleeper for sure
You don't need to use their launcher, per say, for double-tap-to-sleep. You can double tap the top of the screen and it works with any launcher.
had no idea about that, great tip! Thank you :)
Yes you can with any launcher but you can't use finger print to unlock.
maxr4073 If you double tap the top of the screen, you can use the fingerprint to unlock, as the status bar is part of the software. Using Nova with no issue. If you use an external app to lock the screen, you cannot use fingerprint.
G5 as well, lovely feature! 😊
I use this feature in my Note 4 but via Nova launcher.

Pretty much sums up my experience...
exactly
Aaaand the notification LED, i'm not a selfie addict however better front camera would be hugely appreciated, but the notification LED drives me crazy to this day (been using it for 3months)
@@voyagertechnologies is the front camera that bad?
V30 was prob the best phone of 2017. Best design. Great screen and camera. Amazing performance. No notch. Its a really grear phone.
The South Korean units of the LG V30 have already got the Android Oreo update.
Abdullah Arif Exactly
They need to prioritize their U.S. market I'd they don't want to see a deficit for the 12th quarter in their mobile devision.
Japan too 👍
lol... u.s market means nothing. they dominate around the rest of the world.
Mick Harrison is that why their mobile devision has reported a loss for the 13 quarter? Please do you research.
Man I love that phone , it still my dream phone
hey its 4am in india but i got the notification so wake up to watch ur video tim :)
That's dedication right there!!
The V30 does have wireless charging though, works with our Samsung fast charging pad.

You can also use Automate+TouchTask to make it exactly like on the stock LG launcher. There's the instruction on one of the forums.
Philip John Dejillas Woah I just found out the also works on the LG G5
Philip John Dejillas didnt know that! Thanks :D

tubeman1355 how long does your battery last? What messaging app do you use :-0?
This is a very under rated phone.

Was a samsung user but LG won me over and never going back
Highly Recommend the V30
But I still love my V20 also.
Chad Higgins . to bad they screwed up the front camera.
Chad Higgins Yep, I'm still using the V20
same, I wanna upgrade tho
V20 is a UNDERRATED BEAST!
I'm still on the V20 too. I'm going to have a hard time parting with the second display.

SDav21 how good is the battery life?
Venom415 what issues do you have :0?
I see everyone is pushing new Videos on the V30...
interesting
💲💯
ClaxtonBay123 because mwc will probably have a v30 refresh. Not a g7.. they are ahead of the game
I think one of my themes would make your phone look so much better! Good video bud!
Mark Bencze even better if they had more red 😅🤣😉
Listen to this guy!
Mark Bencze q
La Tortuga Oruga ??? 🤔🤔🤔
Tim ur videos are awesome..You point the small problems and i like the way you explain
You dont have to use the LG launcher for the double tap feature, I'm currently using Nova Launcher and it works with it as well.
So far the phone has performed beautifully with zero lag or stuttering. The quad DAC does sounds great BTW.
The Most Underrated phone....my fav Phone
Another fine review from our Boy🔥
(Btw, I miss the outdoor reviews)
On my V30 now always preferred Samsung but the V30 rocks. I used the quad dac with a pair of koss porta pros and it's unbeatable.
A tip for double tap to lock: you can do it from any launcher or app, you just have to double tap the status bar
The Good: V30
The Bad: LG
fightnight14 yeah, it's underrated phone, just smart people will buy
The good v30.. The bad.. Non removable battery
l67swap1 another bad: front camera
front camera is very bad...almost a deal breaker
Andri Novius Smart people will just buy an S9 or S8 lol
None of these stupid compromises while being very similar overall. I'd buy an iPhone X before this just for the fact that it's better for socials and has a more attractive UI
A camera comparison between the newest s9 plus would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Düdmæng Brøssøvítçh like the V20 is on bottom
Chad Higgins Exactly. And the V20 still has the IR blaster! Which I truly miss on g6 & v30..
Joey Barretta its yours, the sim tray in mine blends perfectly with the rest of the frame.
Joey Barretta I have the iPhone X but I was thinking about getting the V30 as a backup or an S8, would you say the S8 is horrible on Snapchat too or just the v30
im pretty sure that you can double tap the notification bar anytime to lock the screen so u dont have to use the stock launcher for that (at least you could do that on the g3, i dont think they removed that feature)
btw use GCAM apps from google it improve the camera better
Came from a Nexus 6P with 32GB internal storage. Take a few 10 minute videos and you'd be out of space - uploading to Google Photos before removing the local copy is still less than ideal. Whereas for my V30, I simply got a 64GB microSD for < $30 and 4K videos I go, something few people mention.
Thanks for this video! If I want to vlog using the V30's (superior) rear-facing camera, how do I make sure I'm centered in the camera? (Since I won't be able to see the screen?)
You could have mentioned the military grade standards and the voice unlock feature where it triumphs over other flagship
Pull down the quick settings and there you can double tap to turn of the screen aswell
How come no one ever talks about the LG v30 plus??
Because its the same specs and size, but comes with twice the storage (which is redundant because it has expandable storage) and with B&O earbuds. Aside from that is the same phone.
Also v30plus has android oreo 8.0
Because it's the same phone with double the internal storage. What's so surprising!?
Because its basically a V30 with a larger storage capacity, it's more like making different videos on Note 8 with 128 GB storage and 256GB storage, why i don't really see much a reason to actually make a video on that and i personally think adding a plus to the name just for a storage increase is a bad move from LG. I'm personally find the new red color or the V30 a more exciting thing, and of course the possible improved version of V30 that we might see in MWC.
I make tech contents with a unique style. If you are free kindly do give my channel a try.
And a bigger battery turkey.
Watching this with V30. The battery can stand with 6 hrs screen-on facebook, web and messaging in my 16 hrs. Much better than v20. And 2019 Q2 V30 will be upgraded to 9.0 Pie
Odd question but is the v30s front facing camera worse than the G4s by chance. For me if it is at least this good I am happy.
Ehh, did that say 13° F in the notification bar? Damn... and I though it was cold here! Considered this phone but I'm pretty happy with my U11. Nevertheless, great video man.
TheHarlemtwin same here I had the u11 since November
Great review Tim!!👊
Why in the name of some kind of God would you have these icons all scattered on the galaxy that's just not right...
You must be an iPhone user...
You can get a 90 deg headphone plug. Makes the socket last longer too.
How does that front facing camera compare to my rockin' Note 3?? I'm guessing it will seem amazing to me (perspective)
I've had it since October. Good phone. Very smooth. I will say the front facing camera sucks. If you take alot of selfies or do alot of vlogging with front facing camera I can't recommend it. Otherwise the phone rocks.
I have the LG V20 great phone.
Problem:
Brilliant video! Keep it up!
i've had performance issues with mine sadly. I wanted to love the phone and I really did in every way except the performance. A lot of apps and games have short stutters. Not like a full freeze or anything but it happens really frequently, around 2 - 5 times a minute. The fps was okay but the frame times were always all over the board.
You can lock it anywhere by double tapping the status bar by the way, great video!
Correction!! Double tap to wake/sleep works on most launchers..... I'm using Nova /pixel and it still works
If you were to compare this device to the Moto Z3 how would it stack up ? Thinking about upgrading !
...With so many manufacturers cutting out the 3.5 on their primo handsets (Thank Apple for starting THAT ridiculous trend!), the V30 has pretty much gone unchallenged with the dedicated on-board DAC and headphone amp...
I know I'm late but if you use nova launcher you can still do double tap to wake and sleep.
I have the same problem with the sim tray. The metal is very sharp and it kinda hurts your fingers
Hi Tim never had a chance to try v30 I actually have 2 Note8 and sony xzp and i am thinking to buy LG 😁 on ebay
I don't believe OREO is out for ANY models in the USA. At least not mine.
Well if you are using a launcher, you can double tap on notifications bar to lock your lg, works for my g2
The V30 is awesome, but it's too expensive, so I went with the G6. That was roughly 5 or so months ago. Still working great, hasn't really slowed down any.
I have the pixel launcher on my phone and still use the double tap feature
I had the V10. Loved the camera and durability. Battery was trash and it bootlooped. Is this V30 worth trying?
You can do the doubble tap on Nova also but without root you need to press on the statua bar
For the auto brightness problem.. I learned with my v20 to download velis autobrightness
Love my V30+ camera, but why are you using your camera in 4:3 instead of 16:9? Especially in ultrawide mode!
JCoz323 so remove app drawer. I swipe to see apps instantly.
then it just looks messy, other than making numerous folders to hide the clutter.
Phone shows February 5th. Security patch - September 2017. Not so good i would say for such phone.
I was so close to getting this phone, but I couldn't walk away from that 50% S8+ deal. Maybe later this year LG.
I really like the LG brands.. I have the LG v20 but man the screen not really good. Should I order the v30 or the Samsung s9+
Watching this on my V20
Antonio Peterson
same 😂
same here... trying to decide if I should upgrade
my v20 batery life has gone crap
this is my first android phone, i'm switching from an iPhone 7... hope i made a good choice
So was it a good choice?
In Italy V30 TIM security patch 01/01/2018 since a few weeks...
There releasing a updated LG V30 soon so may be the reason they have not updated to latest android yet on this one
DuckieGamez Mc as far as what has been released the update may just be added AI chip and more storage
That is all that has been said right now
They may change other things a little bit like cameras etc but nothings been said yet
You know what's funny Tim my exact silver Lg v30 has the same scratch in the same exact area and I've had it in an otterbox since day 1
I love my V30 and im glad it got android Oreo. I just hope it gets android pie also
Mine has Android pancakes and syrup.
