I have a white belt in Goju-Ryu . My Sensei was Guy Kurose (r.i.p) . He was the captain of the full contact karate team at Tenri University in Japan and after two years of hard training I was still a white belt. The Goju-Ryu Sensei on this video is awesome like my Sensei was🙏🏽
I really like the clarification of naemi gaeshi instead of just ashi barai. I learned the Hayashi-ha version of this kata a long time ago, and the ashi barai didn't make as much sense.
That is VERY difficult to re-apply given the chain of instruction. I would introduce a White Crane or Choy Li Fut Master to incorporate his interpretations for the best application possible. I wouldn't exclude a military or MMA expert to weigh in for maximum combat efficacy while retaining traditionally sourced forms.
