    All these idiots understand is someone with a strong voice with authority. being polite carries no weight whatsoever since most of these people don't seem to understand manners and politeness. This is easily solved stop the tourists getting near the horses at all, this would make the guards job so much easier. Limited ticket only admission would stop the hordes of people and a one way system in the front and out of the back would be very efficient. Better barriers at the front would work as well with no one being allowed past them the would have to take their photos from behind the barrier and anyone caught near horse and guard fined. This would also make money for Horse Guards. This would make the guards and horses much safer too.. It is really time for a change before someone probably the horse and guards gets badly hurt due to the recalcitrant tourists refusal to move..

      You cannot ticket, or restrict, admission to Horse Guards. It is a public thoroughfare.

    • @Otacatapetl
      @Otacatapetl Рік тому +3

      @@jilldavies7094 f Horse Guards certainly isn't a thoroughfare, it's a building. But Whitehall is, which is why they can't put barriers round the horses. I don't think they'd want to anyway, as it would get in their way.
      I'm not sure about Horse Guards Parade, though; the public are allowed in there but that doesn't mean they have the right to enter. It was originally laid out by Henry VIII as a tilt yard, so it's probably owned by the Crown. I could be wrong though.

One does it, so it must be OK to do it. The woman in yellow was so entitled. I still don't know why they allow people in the courtyard during changeover. They have to constantly tell the sheep, move behind the white line, make a gap so the guards can walk through, and don't block where the horse is going to go. If a horse is spooked and kicks off, those people have nowhere to go, especially when it's very crowded. If someone is blocking the way, I think the guards on horseback should just walk through them. Maybe then, people will move.

    So it was all left to 1 lone soldier to try and move entitled people back when they totally ignore him? not until the horses were a few seconds coming out did one lone Police Officer move to the front. In the meantime dozens and dozens of tourists decided to move in and out. What is the point of asking them to move back if your allowing so many to move in and out. 4 Police all stand down the back and chat? come on guys get real or give up this was a shambles. Use a firm clear and very loud voice and do not walk away if they won't move you yell for them to move and your firm and consistent in or out you make up your mind now and don't change it!!!

      It’s warn the horse that the weight of the rider will be shifting as they dismount. The horse will then stay standing still. The second smack is on the saddle, for the same reason.
