Good morning from Florida! Thanks to all for the good wishes during the hurricane! My family are all well and no damage, unlike many others! Very grateful! ❤to all, sip☕️
Stay safe all
So glad Jane 🙌💕💕💕
So glad you are safe! Sip!
So happy for you !
Same here. Milton just slapped NE Florida while he beat up other areas. Prayers for Shauna's Sippers who were not so fortunate
Wouldn't it be incredible if Qantas actually took you to the UK and back for free after such a public endorsement? I would definitely sip to that 😉
Yes please 😂
YEEEESSS. That would be brilliant!!! Go on, Qantas!!!
Yes and Shauna could wear her hat for Ascot x
What a great attitude Stephen Barry had, in such a high profile yet intimate job. Takes a special breed of person to do it so well & so cheerfully. A very good read, Shauna!
I love the contrast between the actual account of events in this book and that horrible Netflix Crown thing. I think it shows him to be a caring person who actually did try to do his best with his marriage. At least, I've always thought he did try to make it work. Can't wait for the next chapter.
@katesinclair2645 I found Crown to be a complete fantasy, when compared to the real thing. It appears to cater for an American audience, where they are more gullible when it comes to matters Royal. I've attended a few events in Buckingham Palace. They are pleasant and far removed from the Netflix Crown nonsence.
Seemed to me that each season of The Crown got further and further from the truth.
@@fibanocci314 Totally agree - and I gave up after the second season.
@@crazyplantlady7985I made it to season 3, the stopped. I was disgusted they went with tabloid gossip rather than basing it on any facts. There are so many books that give a very different account.
@@crazyplantlady7985me too!
I hope Stephen Barry had a wonderful life after he left KC's service. I have really enjoyed his books❤
Sadly he died of aids approximately 4 years later.
@@thevintageread 😢
@@thevintageread I think about 7 years.
Wish Stephen P Berry had written more books - his view of life with the RF was very relatable. Just a good read.
I love this book, thank you, Shauna! Listening to this, I cannot help but compare Stephen Barry to Paul Burrell, and Paul really comes off as a spiteful man. 💯 to Stephen Barry.
I totally agree!
Paul is thirsty and quite the liar.
The first time I ever saw Paul Burrell giving an interview I liked it because I thought it was a rare thing. And then UA-cam immediately recommended over a dozen more videos, with more to follow over the next few weeks, and I realized what he was.
You couldn’t be anything but your delightful self, Shauna & I’m sure the Prince would have been enchanted by your company 🥰
Love this book and insights into Prince Charles' life.
When you mentioned the dullness if everyone being on their best behaviour I remembered how Queen Elizabeth II laughed in appreciation when things would go wrong 😉😀
Good morning from Colorado USA. Fixing my first cup of coffee in anticipation of the beginning of this post.
Enjoy!
Hello, fellow Coloradan! 😊
The other aspect of the Prince's life this book reveals is that the relationship between Charles & Diana was one of genuine love and care in those early years, as we all saw at the time. It's Drama on TV and books that depict Diana as being miserable from day one and Charles canoodling with Camilla. It simply wasn't true. Like all upper class people, the Parker Bowles were friends of the Royal Family and remained so. You get a truthful portrait of the Prince from his valet than any biographer, and what a genuine lovely man he is. Hopelessly misunderstood by so many. Tragic really.
Completely agree!
What a lovely book.❤
🇨🇦
Everything went downhill for the then POW after marrying the emotionally immature, damaged Lady Diana.
❤ oh that was brilliant 😊 always sorry its goes so quickly 😊❤
What a fun book! I love KC III & Stephen Barry more with each chapter.
Thank you Shauna! I so love these backscene tidbits!
Glad you like them!
Goodafternoon all from a cold and wet Scotland 😊😊😊
Morning x
We're thinking if this election goes south in the US we're heading to Scotland! All joking aside... You have such a beautiful country!
@@9AcreBakerWe do have a beautiful country but our government has ruined our lives. Scotland looks less and less Scotland by the day.
Any of us Aussies planning a trip to Sydney to see KC next week? Only 90 minutes drive for me so I might go. Great read Shauna 😊
Aw bum, missed it again. Will have to watch the replay.
Nighty night everyone, or good morning, or good afternoon.
Good morning 🌴🌴🌴
So so fun!!!! this reading of "bits" of the book has been terrific. Thank you, MUCH appreciated.
Steven Barry's description of the VC10 is spot on. When my Dad was posted to RAF Akrotiri we flew by VC10 from Brize Norton. Imagine walking up the step to the plane and walking on to find that the seats face the tail and not the cockpit. At 11 it was the first flight I ever remembered and was apprehensive on take off. To make it worse we had to turn back to Brize as there were problems with the radio and we couldn't fly over France. So take off and then landing and taking off again wow the memories are still with me.
I love hearing about travelling with Prince Charles, hard work but an amazing job to have. Qantas should shout you a trip!
What a lovely book & even lovelier listening to your wonderful take on it. Best wishes to our American friends who are cleaning up after the terrible weather - have a great evening from Perth, Australia.
How I wish an unpublished Stephen Barry book would be found
A ghost writer?
Hello from Denmark . Love your channel Shauna ❤
Beautiful Denmark! Thanks for being here!
I am so glad this book shows such a positive picture of the now King Charles. I think so much of the "real personality" of Charles was overshadowed by his mother and then the wife.
Camilla is a great match for him
Hello from Melbourne Australia
With my coffee too at 7:45 am EST
Thanks Shauna thoroughly enjoying this book, King Charles seems to be very empathetic and it must frustrate him when he is misunderstood or people distort the truth about him on social media, have a lovely weekend.😊
You too!
This was just what I needed today Shauna. It's a great break from all the dark news here in the states. Stephen Barry is a great writer and you certainly make the more more interesting. Thanks Shauna.
Shauna (is this the correct spelling?), I am loving this book. It is an absolute privilege being read to! I feel like a genteel lady having my companion read to me! 😃 You have a lovely voice, I suppose as you are a singer that is no surprise. Have you ever done any voice over work or read for audiobooks? You would be great doing that.
I don’t want this book to end. xx
Shauna love my Friday mornings l have lunch while listening to you, my calm before collecting the grandchildren from school 😊💕💕
Love that!
Thanks Shauna loving this series love listening about the days gone by.
Glad you enjoy it!
Good Morning from chilly Ohio. ☕️
Morning!
I'm so ready for chilly😊

I wonder if the King felt quite smothered by the New Zealand women's rugby team when they swarmed him for a hug/kiss this year. He seemed to quite enjoy it! Love how Mr. Barry tells of the unseen side of the King, then Prince of Wales, but never exposes embarrassing bits, yet it is quite fun to hear what he says.
I expect the kisses have become much less as he aged. Lol. But he did look delighted.
I throughly enjoyed this chapter. Netflix did a great disservice to the then Prince Charles in their portrayal of him as a simpering wimp. In truth he is courageous, personable, a talented artist and musician, immensely loyal to his parents and never shirking royal duties. A great read Shauna!
I hit the thumbs up button so fast ❤️🥤 Sip

Me too 😊
This book just gets better and better, you have the gift of storytelling Shauna. I bet I’d be just as enthralled if you read from a telephone book! ❤
I learn so much about the Royal Family, I feel like I'm getting to know the people they are through your perspective and the book reviews you do. You make them fun and they come alive, I had almost forgotten the Seventies existed, but you took me right back there.
I wish all the people today who weren't around in the Charles and Diana era, who believe the narrative that Charles never loved Diana, could read these books and see that when Diana was telling her story she may have been slanting towards the negative in order to garner sympathy and get people on her side...I wonder how Diana would have explained Charles' reasons for having favourite photos of her framed...
🎯! Totally agree...
Hello Shauna, this is quite a personal question, but how do you feel knowing that you have subscribers throughout the world - well a large part of it? Personally I think its amazing that I can respond and interact to people from so many different countries on a shared interest. BTW I'm from north west UK - Lancashire to be exact. Love your channel.
I agree, it is amazing how we can connect from so far away! ❤🇨🇦
Hello 👋🏼 from the USA 🇺🇸
So much fun😂😂 Every time you say John McClain I keep thinking of Bruce Willis I Die Hard 🤭
Yes! 😂
Me too 😂
King Charles absolutely loved it when members of the New Zealand woman’s rugby team gave him an impromptu hug. The look of joy and laughter on his face makes so much sense as Stephen notes everyone is so restrained around him.

Loving these books by Steve Barry. Thank you so much Shauna! Best wishes, Sip!

What a life Prince Charles has led and Stephen Barry is a trouper. Thanks, Shauna.

Excellent Shauna. Love listening to you. ❤️
Very enjoyable delivery! I loved hearing about the King in this way.
Thank you so much, Shauna.

Great movie!
Love these videos and never get tired of hearing your voice!
Loving this book Shauna, thank you xx
Thank you for choosing this wonderfully entertaining book.
I am claustrophobic so even hearing about having a hole in the ice and going underneath makes me feel like my chest is expanding. Not something I could ever do.
Terrifying!
Brilliant book, really enjoying it!❤❤❤❤❤
always enlightening. Thanks Shauna
Hello Shauna, really enjoyed your reading as always. As a young girl I was a member of Winifred Attwell’s fan club, I really loved her. Have a great weekend 🙋♀️📖🇬🇧🦋
Thank you .Shauna, I am enjoying this book, and I look forward to every installment.
❤ just for Al. Delightful as always🍹
❤❤❤❤❤😊 I think this might be my favorite book 😊
Love this, Shauna! The book and your reading. Thank you! ❤
Stephen Barry makes Charles sound pretty darned marvelous! A tipple or two greases the wheels of any piano player....we all know that ☺
Thanks Shaun. Really enjoyed that.
My mother and sister arrived in Cairo the day Sadat was assassinated. I was so worried about their safety so I can certainly imagine how nerve wracking it must have been for the leaders/heads of state and their entourages. Love the book, hate for it to end.
Thank you for displaying Ms Tina Turner in pride of place. She is dearly missed🙏 😊 ☺️
Winnys grave is south of Lismore in NSW on Coraki Rd. I have visited her twice. The first time her grave was plain. The second time it had been moved so she had a view and the headstone is a piano. Rumour has it that Elton John organised it. The cemetery is high and wouldn't flood. As a child I listened to Winifred on the radio and became a fan.
Funny Girl! Sip! 🥂🍸🍹🍺🥃🥤🍼☕️🧃🧉😂

Mornin’ from Texas. 🤠
Sounds like Prince Charles loved Texas!
Just the thought of diving under the ice makes me feel nervous. There's no way I would ever do something like that. It sounds terrifying 😳
Completely!
I love listening to you read, Shauna 😊 I have never cared for Audible, but if you read, I'll give it a try 🥰🥰
Sorry I missed this one catching up now - is fabulous as usual
I remember the day Sadat was shot. That was a horrible day. He seemed stand and face his assassins. What bravery. It was very dangerous at that time. How fun to see all those stars!
You don't realise what goes on with these trips. Did not know Winnie Atwell came here. I knew of her when I was a youngster living in the UK. Thanks Shauna❤
So cool!
Shauna, your Quantas Airlines remark reminded me of the film "Rain Man".

I love the way you tell a story
Good afternoon from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
Thankyou and hello from Italy.
Fantastic book thanks Shauna ❤
I wonder if the then PC was unhappy that SB wrote these 2 books ? He seemed to truly like PC , felt bad that PD didn’t care for him …. Thank you Shauna 😊
Wonderful. Regarding Barbara Streisand, she and the then Prince Charles became good friends, according to her memoir.
Thank you, needed the smile today.
I love Stephen's tales. I'm so sad he died of AIDS at 37. Now he would have a chance. I wonder if Princess Diana visited him, and was his dear mother still living at that time. How sad. He was devoted to the royals, even if they say he didn't like the King, so he wrote these stories. I think what he wrote was probably out of line for a former eployeee, but they are respectful to the King and show him generally in good light compared with the "biographies" they have printed about them today. It is a very personal approach, and I love his dedication to the man who would become King.
Timbertop is close to Mansfield a couple of hours from Melbourne in the opposite direction from Geelong. It is the year nine campus for Geelong Grammar School so I understand the confusion.

Hello from Galveston, Texas ☕
Hello Texas 🙌
Super review! Loved it!

Qantas definitely were the royalty of the skies when I was growing up in 80s . My older brother had a huge love of everything planes trains and automotive. Qantas were so flash .I truly hope you do get to go to uk and visit Balmoral Shauna. If you do some walking you may bump into the king on a walk. Theres a video of some young mountain bikers on a trail to stay overnight in a hut actually run into KC on a walk❤.
I was only 11 when Prince Charles and Princess Diana came to NZ with Baby William. Who shares his birthday with my brother. My brother turned 13 the day William was born...I think my mother focused on the new baby and kinda forgot about the new teenager in the house 😂.
People were definitely enthusiastic about Charles and Diana and little William visiting.
I think coming to NZ was sometimes awful because of protesters blaming the Queen for things that happened long before she was born, and some of our prime ministers were very dry and boring people. So everything would have been hardly enjoyable I would imagine. But theres definitely plenty of people who loved any royalty visit. Its just a shame they can't skip the official agendas with boring humbug chitchat ,and come stay at a normal kiwi home to enjoy genuine welcoming warmth.
I was delighted when our wonderful and very lovely Rugby girls got to meet KC and asked for a hug. They knew he needed to know that he was loved by most of us in NZ❤.
Funny Girl!
Hi Shauna ❤from N.S.W
So sad lovely Stephen died young. Sounds liké a Real gentle man
Yea Shauna about behaving normally. Let us never forget Molly Meldrum behaving like a Wally with the young Prince Charles.
I've seen a clip about that ice dive, and he is in this suit which is filled with air, its quite funny if you find it.
Shauna, begging you and your flock to check out Shaun Attwood 10/12 interview of Gloria Masters, a survivor of child trafficking and to review, interview Gloria Masters about her book KEEPING KIDS SAFE.
