Wow, back to before the start of my commuting. I remember flying over the line of the motorway construction in a Chipmunk out of RAF Hamble in 1975. I did not expect, then, that I would be commuting from north of Winchester to North Harbour for most of the 1980s - including the final opening of the "missing link" under Chilworth. The road of my youth indeed!
“Still coping” closed on an off non stop with the “smart” motorway upgrade and now again for another 2-4 years!!
