You can tell someone understands their topic when they can explain it as clearly as this to people that originally do not understand it. Thank you.

This is the best Switch Matrix video on UA-cam.

Outstanding explanation and diagrams - you made it easy to understand why there are diodes, what happens when a diode fails as a short, and how to quickly locate the failed diode. Great work!

This is a great and very informational video. (the background music is very irritating tho - lol)

Great video. Clear explanation. I'm stuck on one thing: if the current flows as you have drawn (from column to row, or top right to bottom left) then aren't the diodes pointing in the wrong direction?

Great info. But what about 2 opto switches that are in the same column, right next to each other rows? When one is activated, the other gets activated, and vise versa. No other switche is involved. How do you resolve this issue?

    TERRY BRITTON,
the older switch matrix used AC coils AC solenoids AC relays, why did they switch over to using DC coils, solenoids, relays?
DC uses less current draw and more torque but how so?
Why does pinball games use PIA chips for the light lamp matrix and for the switch matrix they use PIA chips for what reasons to use PIA chips?

Great video, very helpful, but that background music is horrible. And it's as loud as the speaker, so it's very distracting.

I have a situation where when I press one switch it will show that like 5 other switches are closed as well. For example, I press switch 1 and it indicates that 33, 21, 19, 12, 7, and 1 are pressed. But when I press any of the other switches on that list it will register as itself only. This also happens for other switches. So like all those numbers, +1, +2, and +3. Is this a matrix problem or something else?
