    Some clip for my Coaching session with Connor Scutt, before the 2024 PDC darts World Championship.
    My channel is exclusive to darts only content. I create my content as I simply love to play darts and want to help other dart players improve with my own channel.
    All my video's are based on how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide any new players in their darting journey as well as provide more experienced or even professional dart players with dart content to help improve.
    I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to injury and dartitis in my right arm.
    I may, on occasion, use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation, WDF and Modus. These are used under fair use legislation, and all credit should be given to the rightful creators.

    I like a dart like his because you know where your fingers will be everytime you grip them. I may have to try a set.

      @Straightdarts still gotta set up that training time with you. I finally got my camera's in place but the OBS software is a struggle. Even following some tutorials it'd not quite what what I need to focus clearly on the board for the viewer and my face / stance view for me.
      Any suggestions would be voondibar.

      @Mersipher Learning to keep your elbow in the correct position is the biggest one. Keep it down the same path you want the darts to fly. No, sideways movement or rotation. :)

      I hope so, I'm coaching full-time 7 days a week, at least 12 to 17 hours a day, so I just haven't had time.
      I'm fully booked for months. I have taken in more staff to help with editing, so I should be able to meet demand better in a few months. :)

    What was the tip you implemented to his wrist action? Be interesting to find out. So good watching him throw like this 👌🏻

      We brought the dart back to the right side if his nose and change the alignment a touch so he is always flicking straight. Slightly lower elbow and we have historical spoken about hyperextension of the elbow. :)

    When you going to do a throw&grip analyze of connor scutts throw?! Maybe you can even get more insight from him on how he settled into it, etc

    • @Straightdarts

      I'll see what clips iv got, and maybe we can talk about changes he has made to his throw. 😀
      I'm flat out at the moment, but I will definitely do it.

    Hey mate,how do I find consistency in the game,my stance and grip changes pretty much day by day at this point,my average can be anywhere from 42-62,how do you know if it's a mindset thing,or if you have genuine technical flaws? One day I play one way,then the next day I completely change my grip and stance because the one from before just feels weird now.

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  5 місяців тому

      If you keep changing your throw, your always going to get different results.
      Work on the aspects that need to he the same firstly.
      1. Alightment, always keep the elbow and shoulder down the same path you want the dart to fly.
      2. Flick straight, keeping the palm of the hand facing the board at release.
      3. Get a pause at the end of the drawback.
      4. Keep the elbow still.
      5. Keep all of the power coming from the wrist and fingers, not the arm. :)

    • @MediaFy007
      @MediaFy007 5 місяців тому

      @@Straightdarts Cheers for the advice mate,quick question ,when I throw,I always flick my wrist to the right when I release the dart which causes me to hit a lot of ones,Is there anything I can specifically do to stop doing this? Or will it just come over time?

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  5 місяців тому

      @MediaFy007 it's probably your alignment. Keep the elbow and shoulder down the same path you want the dart to fly. If your elbow is yo fair in to the left or it moves inward to your left during the throw, your wrist will bend the opposite way to compensate. It's very difficult to learn without a few hours of coaching tbh. It took me years to get it right, and I'm still only about 95% perfect. 😆 😂 Always room for improvement.

    • @MediaFy007
      @MediaFy007 5 місяців тому

      @@Straightdarts oh yeah that could make sense tbf,I feel like I have my elbow quite wide when I throw ,so maybe I'm subconsciously bringing it inwards to compensate

    Hello Coach. Is the Head alignment is a thing in darts?? Because when I turn 90° at the oche my head naturally want to turn and Im throwing from cheek. Is head aligment is a thing and should I worry about it ?

      That's to do with eye dominance, it's the way your hands coordinates to your eyes. Give this a watch :)

      There are the same as his new mission Darts but without the little ring grip in the scallop. They are effectively Space Rader darts of ebay with a bronze coating.

    Hi mate, At the oche, I have my foot pointed forward and stand quite abit to left of centre my body is basically inline with 16 but my arm feels in line to the 20s.
    Is this normal? I’ve tried doing in centre and it looks like I’m throwing diagonal even though it’s straight

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  5 місяців тому +1

      That is correct. To find the center at the right handed player you actually stand to the right, you want your arm down the center line not your head. :)

    • @joshmckenna5606
      @joshmckenna5606 5 місяців тому

      @@Straightdarts Yeah, So my body is to the left of the board inline with 16/double16. With straight foot. To my eye it looks like my arms in line with the treble 20.
      If I do straight foot in the centre line my arm feels like it’s diagonal to the 20s. I bring the dart to the side of my eye.
      My stance is quite similar to Johnny Clayton. My question really is, should I stick to that because it’s comfortable?

    • @Straightdarts
      @Straightdarts  5 місяців тому

      @joshmckenna5606 I depends more on your alightment. If your alignment is good and you're comfortable, it's definitely the spot for you. To check the alignment, look at where your elbow is pointing and make sure it's still. We want it pointing down the same path as the dart, so you can flick straight without any bending of the wrist and no sideways movement from the elbow. When executed correctly, you should find your first finger is under the double three when hit a 20.
      When you first start, always stick to the center, just like your doing now. But as your hand eye coordination develops, you may find your elbow wants to point one way or the other, e.g, the more the elbow points left, you stand more to the right. :)

    • @joshmckenna5606
      @joshmckenna5606 5 місяців тому

      @@Straightdarts Yeah I’ve been playing darts on and off for few years. I’ve always stood in the left side of the board because I feel my arms in line with 20s. My elbow does sometimes look it kicks out to the right a bit so could that be the reason I stand more to the left ??
      Could that be why when I’m standing dead centre it looks like I’m throwing across the board?
      I appreciate your time in helping me out. I apologise for all the questions.
      With stance, I’ve tried sideways, 45 degrees, and I’m most comfortable fairly straight on.
