  • Hey FOA. Yesterday, I prepared a 4-day meal prep. I am going to start doing a little bit of heathy meal prepping for at least 4 days a week. Taking small steps towards a healthier life.

    Be careful with the seasoning. Read labels. The average daily intake of sodium (salt) is 2400 milligrams. A good rule is if you eat foods high in sodium, don’t add any additional salt. Mrs. Dash, Pepper, seasoning such as garlic powder and onion powder. Drinks lots of water. Check your blood pressure regularly. Remember high blood pressure is a silent killer.
    Better safe than sorry ❤.

    I used to be a big white rice eater. I made the switch to brown rice 5 years ago. I don't even notice the difference anymore.

    No one talking about all the raw chicken juice spread round the kitchen? On the paper towels, on the towel! Please be careful. No need to wash chicken! Looks good just hope there’s no salmonella.

    When you get ready to use the zucchini just wash it off, don’t peel it because the inside is mostly water content with seeds and you would have just mushy zucchini .❤️

    You did a great job Anthony. You can do cabbage with sautéed bell peppers as a side. A small to medium should be enough for 4 days.

    I’ve been meal prepping for a few years. I like it because it helps me with my budget and takes the guesswork out of what I’m going to eat😊l now need to get into that walking part😊😊😊

    The whole foods prep meals are the way to go..keep it going..it may get boring..but a great start..rice is rice..to much of brown..black..wild..yellow or white rice can raise sugar levels..keep God first

    I found it for me when cooking brown rice is to use chicken broth or beef broth instead of water it gives it more flavor 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Hey, Anthony!! You are inspirational to us all. I'm trying to be healthier as well... we are on this journey together. I've cut down on sugar the last year or so, and I have lost 40 pounds so far. Just a quick meal prep tip: leave the lids off the containers to let the food cool much faster. Take care!       ​@@FOASQUADyou must get a small staple machine along with the staple pins ,so any time you have left over seasoning, etc, you can fold the mouth of the package that you cut neatly so air or insect cannot get in,then staple the mouth

    Personally I am glad to see the Olive oil you can add it to your spaghetti instead of the vegetables oil when you are boiling them. The Olive oil is good for your heart, and it adds a great flavor.

      Lydia the Italian chef said not to put any oil in the water when you boil noodles be cause the sauce will not stick

    My options would be salad based meals daily.
    Easy to prepare in a small space and nutritionally healthy if done correctly..My Doctor told me to turn white to brown, breads, rice, pasta..Whole wheat...😊

    Always check ingredients on foods you wanna make sure you’re not eating too much sugar or salt in them also, you should be using extra-virgin olive oil and avocado oil for high heat. Both these oils are much healthier for you. Best of luck.

    Don’t rinse you chicken Anthony it can spread salmonella. Unless you Disenfectant your sink straight away xx
    You don’t need to rinse it. But that’s just my opinion.

    The sweet potatoes.. I can now eat plain. Sometimes I drizzle a little honey, a tiny bit of fresh lemon juice and cinnamon

    Olive oil is much better for you than seed oils like avocado or grape seed. Seed oils contain linoleic acid which is an inflammatory. So good mistake 😊

    Anthony use lemon on your vegetables it gives them flavor..Trader Joes sells carrot juice in the juice section, I sip it right from the bottle every morning..Good for you and easy..And salads for lunch are good 🥗💯I sometimes throw meat and veggies in my salad🥗Win Win❣️I’m glad your getting the RV you want and need💯trade it in ASAP..Your doing good Anthony ❣️Just cut back on the salt, when your adding spices pick 2, you need to enjoy your food while eating healthy..Pepper is very healthy for you so use all you want..Take a Daily vitamin it works and walk at your own pace 6,000 steps is GOOD 👍🏻Black tea is very good for you, drink that in between 🫖 Can’t wait to see your new RV💯👍🏻☀️💫

    Anthony you might want to try steaming your broccoli in the microwave. That's better. Probably your squash as well. Read cooking instructions. That will free space on your stove stop and microwave is quicker. That's how I cook broccoli. Just saying.... blessings.

    Lol Anthony, I live out of my SUV and I get the same reaction when it starts raining 😂. Not the same as when you’re in a house, I like the sound to be honest. P.S. don’t peel the zucchini 😭 just clean and chop or slices.

      I have stomach issues, some fiberous peels cannot be digested. Until his stomach gets better than he can eat peels. That's if he has stomach issues

      @@amalkall6374I was going to say the same thing. I know nutrients are in the skin/peeling on fruits and veggies. But my stomach CANNOT tolerate it AT ALL and I get bad inflammation when I eat them.

    I love this mindset. I am struggling with the mindset of "losing weight" as an older adult ...BUT ... I WILL have to adopt that mindset of HEALTHY not weight loss! I am the meal plan/prep queen and couldn't live without meal plan/prep. TFS Be Blessed.

    This was interesting to think about and watch. When we lived in a "sticks & bricks" and we were raising a family, I always meal prepped ahead. I had not really thought about it in this new lifestyle. Thanks for demonstrating how you are making the changes in your life. -Michelle

    Small steps are great! Congrats on your healthy lifestyle journey. Brown rice is a better choice because the bran and germ hasn't been removed from the grain. The bran and germ contain essential minerals and amino acids which are the building blocks of protein. White rice is a refined, processed grain, the bran and germ has been removed, so the essential nutrients are not there, BUT many people like white because it's less dense, less earthy-tasting, and cooks more quickly.

    Anthony you love to cook when you get your new RV are you going to get a big refrigerator. It’s just as good as avocado oil. It’s always better to have the over kill more of a variety.

    Anthony, Great job on the meal prepping. I have done it for years. And I have managed to stay the course and eat what I prepared. I feel brown rice is healthier and I switch over years ago. Me once being a diabetic we can’t eat white rice it runs blood sugar up. Glad to see you, you were gone to long time his time. So glad God is blessing you. You deserve it!God bless you.

    Just like cane sugar Is better, brown rice is better because neither have been starched to the white color. But I seem to only like the Publix brown rice

    I’m sure there’s a ton of sodium in that seasoning packet. Great on the amount of veggies. I’m a sodium freak because my husband has high blood pressure.

    Great idea on your meal prepping for days ahead and gives you more time to relax.
    I wanted to drop off this guy's name Mark Wiens who is on you tube and is a food blogger and does videos on places overseas and in the USA and references all the different names of the places he goes to and he has been to alot, as I know you would be interested in you future overseas trips you have planned. I really like the one he did in Spain and that is where my father's parents were from and I love spanish food. We all love food and I like preparing food as well. I am a florida native and so glad I am.

    Anthony proud of you but just letting you know that when you meal prep this way and you doing this walking you know you will lose weight. Also in the container so you won’t be left so hungry in the meal prep try to put more protein then what you put before just a little more cause the more protein consume it will take your hunger away

    Hooray for you! I hope it is all delicious! I find roasting veggies in the toaster oven is easy, healthy and delicious...if your veggies get blah from the frig/freezer, try warming them in your toaster oven. I don't do meal prep, but do try to have a bowl of salad cut up and ready to go, so my kids can easily make themselves a salad...I just put in romaine lettuce and sliced up carrots-I peel small pieces of carrot- then they can add the other stuff.

    Walmart has a small bag of Caesar salad no chicken but it has everything else. It’s fresher than the bowls in my opinion. Looks like the small bag shredded lettuce so you will know what to look for. Hopefully everything turns out really good.

    Fyi..uncooked rice doubles when cooked. So for 2 cups cooked ri e use only 1 cup of rice.
