Thank you for this video! I just took a Betta home from the pet shop and he’s developed white spot, likely from the poor condition he was surviving in. I just started treatment, so we’ll see. Your fish is/was beautiful. I hope he’s still going strong. I had one betta for over 4 years! Cheers from California, USA. 🌹
To clarify for those wondering: ich medicine (usually malachite green is the active ingredient in most) is only effective at killing the parasite in the free swimming stage. While it is inside of its cyst (or basically egg) or borrowed in the fish's skin, it is immune to any treatment. It is also sensitive to water temps. The higher the temp, the faster its life cycle and reproduction. That's why they tell you to raise the water temp to 86 (or as high as the fish can tolerate) to get the parasite to detach from the fish and reproduce faster, thus killing it quicker.
Why don't they say th is on the bottle!😭😭😭 I've been treating mine for a week and it looked like he was getting better, but now he has a giant white spot and now I know why
My veiltail betta had ich recently but thankfully he's ok now, no white spots anymore. I treated him with malachite green. I'm lucky he's energetic and has appetite even though he had ich. I think the ich came from the moss ball I recently bought so I removed it.
my beta just went from a 5 gallon tank to a small container bc hes sick and wont swim up to the surface 😞 I love my fish so much 😢 i even trained him. Ive been giving him a salt bath every 3 days bc hes so sick . I even tried to give him a pea and so now idk what to do .
My betta is really unhealthy and she has Fungus, she’s skinny, faded color, fins getting ripped whenever she darts away. But she acts normal and eats every time, plays, swims actively. I don’t really know what’s wrong or how to fix it. I added medication but it came back :/
when ya put the medication into the tank, was it concurrent with your bio filter? read somewhere that this blue stuff would kill the beneficial bacteria.
Im kinda concern I have a betta ,same as yours, right now is acting weird he eats, not as much as before but he always lays on top of the water on a leaf half of his body sticking out of the water, couple days ago I see a little white spots but then just went off, today I saw that white spots again but is like just dust it doesn’t see like the ich but last night way the first dose oh medicine you think white spots is what he has?
@@sebby2378 well I live in Taiwan so they told me to keep the beta and methane blue for 7 days. After the seven days you change the half of the dosage. Truly they should have fallen off by now.. I wonder what you're using
My betta got ick he continuously scratched himself then he got two wound and a white string protrudes from both wound is it's normal or he is serious.he is not eating well but still active
Haha, not the most exciting video for people that are looking for new builds but i felt it was a good idea to document when things arnt going perfect and give advice for others that might have the same problem.
I bought my betta and he was acting all shy then I noticed some white forming on him they definitely didn’t change the water I’m going to buy another fish and the medicine cuz I fed super bad like I didn’t mean for him to get sick!!
My betta still does still eat ,. but, only stays in the corner or bottom of tank. but he does have a white spot on his tail. His does not move much. He stay in just one location and sometimes lean on side and he corrects himself to get balances. I thought it was a swimming bladder disease. I been doing Epom salt bath on him for the past two days now. but, I . Don't see him getting any better :( it said it could also help with ich. But I don't know if it's working. White Spot until there. I'm going to until until end of this week since I started the bath salt on Monday. But, if I don't see any improvement with the salt bath. I'm going to try this treatment. Where do I buy these medication?
how is your Betta doing? Mine is showing similar symptoms. he is barely moving now. I have been using Betta fix and now I added aquarium salt. Any suggestions?
@@yaronronniesolomon7424 Hi there, mines is still the same. He's only active to feeding time that's all. I was told not to use betta fix because it kills them Because of the tea tree oils in it. . It plugs their gills. So..How is yours doing? I went with Pimafix because it didn't CONTAIN tea tree oil.. he got a little better the white started to fate but still there even after I did the seven day treatment. But I'm think of going to with Methylene blue. I found a local store that carries it. Only problem not sure how much to put in 5 .5 gallon tank. It only gives instructions to bath treatment.
My fish does not want to eat. I don't know what to do with him. He has a gray coat on his back, and he's always resting on his leave hammock. I hardly ever see him moving. I am worried for him.
my betta got white spots after i added some tankmates.should i separate him? or should i treat the whole tank with medicine? the new fish i bought has no white spots.
I have four bettas in 3 different tanks. One is a 10g with a divider. The other two are 5g. All mine seem to love water flow/currents. They swim back and forth under their water filters and seem to enjoy themselves being pushed down slightly by the current.
Man.. i hope this is just a hospital tank and I hope you don’t keep him in this tiny place all the time. It’s an annoying misconception that they like small spaces. They love swimming me they love huge spaces

What to by raise the temp u mean mke it colder??? But i read it the other way
@@gerigame2995no make it warmer because this speeds up the life cycle of the parasite which makes kills it faster

No problem :)
How did you get the water in from pipe? From tap?
Good video . I am curious , what ice treatment were you using and did the medicine come with the syringe ?
Do you know the medicine you using is it safe for snails and shrimps?
Hi... this video is very informative...thank you! But how will I know for sure if my fish has ich? :(
should i water change every single day and put a dose of the treatment medicine each day..?
I couldn't see what med was used. Is it plants and invert safe?
I've turned my heater up to 86 and am doing large water changes.
My fish is getting white scales is that ich?
What are u using to empty and fill the tank? That hose pump?
hi can you link to the medicine you used?

It's interpret anti white spot

The bad bacteria will also be in your filter so you have to treat everything.
my treatment says to remove carbon filter but doesn't specify for how long. it's so confusing.

totally irrelevant to the video but what sponge is that you use to clean with haha
It was just something I got in a cleaning pack.
My betta has one little white spot at the end of her tail and since it's just a little one i don't know if its ich
Your Betta is probably going to be just fine. You might have picked up some from some plants that's what happened to me
I think you're talking about Ick yeah methane blue to get rid of that. If I remember correctly I think I had to keep treating my fish for 2 weeks
How many times do you do water change? I've been treating my betta for almost 2 weeks now and he's active but there are still ich on his scales.
