    Nice job. Needs a center support on table and all seats. As soon as it sets in the sun, everything will move. Carpenter here.

    Awesome video brother. I’ll be attempting this soon. I think I would sand the wood prior to assembly making it easier. I’m no carpenter either but I think I can knock this one out. Thanks for posting brother.

      It’s very easy. I agree, if you take the time to sand and stain prior to assembly it would make it easier. I am always pressed for time so I build it and then stained it a few days later.

      Just make sure you add additional screws at the corners for support. I had to add more myself.

    Ana always up to something interesting, I've been wanting to make it, but I've learned not to trust my Ryobi miter saw with cutting correct angles. Or their table saw, for that matter.
    Has anyone in the comments also made the tragic mistake of buying Ryobi? How do you trick them into working correctly?
    Neat looking design, though.

    great video thanks for the share i noticed at the end you said a lot of your cuts were off by an 1/8th of an inch that is because in the beginning you measured and put lines all the way down your board without taking the kerf into effect. The kerf of your blade is 1/8 of an inch so some would be an 1/8th and some more the further you go down your board. You are better off setting a stop block or cutting one and using it as your template then you wont be off. But all in all great job!

    Great table! I need to build one with detached benches. How do you recommend to make the benches so they are stable?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  2 роки тому +1

      Just miter the legs in an “X” pattern at the sides of each bench.

      My son's building this table for his Eagle project but with detached benches. He needs to ensure the table is braced structurally. What's the best way to do this (keep in mind we are newbies at this!)?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  2 роки тому

      I ended up using metal “L” brackets underneath at the corners. With detached seats the table should be fine. It’s only when you create the table with attached seats where additional bracing is needed. Good luck 👍🏼

    Hey Matt, I am trying to build a double chair with the table in the middle. Have you done that? Any pointers? The prices of wood are so expensive, and I don't want to mess up. Could you do one for us?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  2 роки тому +2

      I’ve considered one but as you mentioned, prices on wood are crazy these days and even finding wood is a challenge. I’ll see what I can come up with in the near future.

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  Рік тому +1

      It’s good. I use it as a shooting table but I did paint it with an outdoor paint/stain so that helped.

  • @livefreeordie5534
    @livefreeordie5534 Рік тому +1

    Not too bad. But use cleats because no matter the finish, the water is eventually going to seep into all those screw holes on the table top and seats.
    At least maybe fill them, but there goes the esthetics again.
    Cleats won't add too much to the cost, so it's the best bet. And, exterior wood adhesive makes a world of a difference for added strength.
    But that's just anal me.😉

    Did you build your deck with un treated lumber seeing your walking on it?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  2 роки тому

      I built the table with untreated because I stained it with waterproof stain. My deck was built with treated lumber. I stained the deck too but didn’t like the color after awhile so I pressured washed the stain off the deck and plan to refinish the deck with a new paint or stain.
