    My wife and I put 143,000 miles on our Clsss A over 25 years.... our advice: do not rent it. It will be destroyed out of ignorance, not necessarily on purpose. Renters will not know how to use things properly. You are not poor. The extra money is not worth the risk.

    Exicited for you guys and your pretty piece of property.
    Please read all the comments about storing your Airstream We own an Airstream and early on learned the hard way about proper storage.
    Outdoor storage in a wooded area or field and leaving it unattended for months can cause so many problems when you return. Winterizing is a must when stored in winter. In addition to what others are saying about security from rotten humans, the rodents alone will find the tiniest opening and nest in your cushions and bedding and even the insulation in the walls. Rodents don't care if it's wiring or fabric. Look into a hitch lock and and chain/ gate the entrance to your driveway. A bigger clearing in the near future will help prevent tree branches and felled trees from damaging the exter
    ior. A dent to panels is Soooo expensive to repair! Gravel area and keep brush and grasses maintained to help keep rodent intrusion away. Set traps inside but only if you have someone check on it and remove.

  • @underthetornado
    @underthetornado 18 днів тому +23

    Now, check for holes or cracks around your wheel wells. Rodents can enter and chew holes bigger. I just lost my 30 ft. Trailer due to rodent damage. They chewed my electric and I lost all power. It's an old trailer and I've had enough! They win.❤ So, what happens when it floods again?😮

That generator would be very tempting to take. And anything else that might expensive. Have your friends go and check on it. Give them a key to the air stream so they can look inside to see if anybody broke in, or a flood or maybe use it themselves if needed.

It’s so the utility companies can clear the area you are digging in especially next to the road. If there was a fiber optics line there and you hit it, it could cost you a ton of money. If you keep your new road at the same level of the surrounding land it will always present problems. You need to put a ditch if say at least 25 CMS deep on both sides. Start with moderate sized fill and then finish off with a covering of sand and gravel. Pack each layer in the process. You could also put down a layer of " road cloth" between the layers of gravel. Will save you money in the long run.

    Good job! You MIGHT want to move it further in, and set it up behind some trees, so it's not seen from the HWY, you know? Don't need unwanted 'visitors' dropping in while you're gone. Better yet, park it at the Roastery WHILE you're away, THEN move it back whenever you return. Trees won't be falling on it, or branches breaking off and tearing up the roof next to the Roastery, but that CAN happen if you leave it out there. May as well have people keeping an eye on it for you, too, eh?

    I live in wells river, Vermont, glad your setting it back in woods to be safe. One thing to keep in mind is Hail. Hail just destroyed my friends Airstream. Can you possibly build like a Heavy Duty car port type roof over it? Or one during storms you can easily back it up under? Today, wed July 10th all of Vermont is under a severe storm, flood, and tornado watch, I’m sure your aware of it all. Hail came down with the last one. Also, Snow weight on your roof is something youl need to think about. Hope this helps in some way 😊 Lisa

    I have two things to say. The first being, I understand that y'all want the airstream on your property but that's a huge mistake for a couple of reasons a) Someone will steal it. b) you're leaving it without winterizing it. c) pack rats are a real thing in the woods, so you're likely to come back to visitors if it's even still there.
    Secondly, we all understand that y'all have sponsors, but we watch your videos because of YOU, not so we can listen to a 3-minute long commercial.
    We (the collective of your followers and customers) love you guys but I know I'm not the only one to say something about the commercial.

    I realize many are aggravated by the Anker commercial, but it was educational for me. Never seen one that will run a bricks and sticks. Or, one that will run an AC in a traveling home. And I appreciate that this is so commercial due to the high cost of the Anker, and getting it for less. I will be interested in further brief reports on usage and year round in roastery. Also that it does not seem to require mounted solar panels. Would make traveling FT easier by not having to put holes in your roof, and taking with you if selling your rig. Thanks guys! Are you considering using solar power to recharge the Anker while you're on the property, or maybe having two Anker units and keeping one at the coffee shop charging so you can swap them out? Perhaps you could even have a power company install a line on the property. It would be awesome to see you build a solar tracking array on the property for constant, clean energy, using the Anker at night or during cloudy and rainy weather. I think it would make for great content to see you build this solar array!

    • @tammieaf2712
      @tammieaf2712 18 днів тому

      Solar panels and battery banks are definitely not "clean" energy. They are a good alternative source of power, but the components will break down and I guess they'll dump the trash in the massive pits created from mining cobalt, lithium and whatever other natural resources it's taking to manufacture all the components.

      @@tammieaf2712 so you're saying the minerals will go back in the ground where we dug them up. Are you saying burning coal is better? What would you say is the best way to produce energy that better than solar?

    • @tammieaf2712
      @tammieaf2712 18 днів тому +1

      @@edellenburg78 I really don't know where "they" plan on dumping all the dead batteries and worn out panels. But if you think solar is the best option for energy production, you really should research how everything is mined, child labor, huge diesel powered excavators and dump trucks, coal powered train engines, to diesel powered tractor trailers for last mile to get minerals to the factory. Farmers are being denied water to irrigate crops because they need it to keep the mining equipment cool. There's no such thing as "clean energy" in our modern world. Only different types of energy, all destroy the earth from which it's mined. Educate yourself on the entire process and you'll learn a few not so pleasant facts. While you're at it, look up what the "cloud" is in the physical world and learn how it's powered and it's servers are kept cool. That's one major drain on the electrical grid and where's all the water coming from to cool it? Go. Educate yourself. Thank me later.
