Joe, I finally listened to you and picked up a Arken light weight with the Precision Ret. Love it. For years I've been using the Zeiss first gen 4.5 to 14 which was German components and assembled in the U.S. by meopta here. When I zoom the Arken down to 14x, it is just as clear, and full of color as the Zeiss. I was building a custom 10 22 with Kidd parts and wanted a new optic for it. Impressed!

Ive had mine for about a month now. I mounted it on a Ruger PR in 300 WM. After dialing it in, I had no problem hitting a 10in plate at 1000 yds

I did a tall target test with my 7-35 Arken. It was a 40 MOA in 10 MOA stops. By the time I got to 40 MOA it was about .15 inches below the line making it about .6% off. That is an amazing low error especially on a $600 scope. This is the 4th Arken I have and it has not disappointed me. I am taking it to a 2x600 yard F-Class match on the 21st and 1000 yard match 10/19. I am sure it will do just as good as my NF NXS 8-32x56 does

I bought one the day the put them on sale. It’s on my Zermatt action, Krieger barreled 6mmBR. I am waiting on a neck expansion die from Cortina to load up some target injections in brand new brass. Thanks for your always entertaining and thorough test.

I have one. It's ok for the money. Resolution is fine, tracking is good, not much chromatic aberration, but on higher powers, 20 and above, it gets dark and looses a lot of clarity on the periphery of the lense. Parallax is also very shellow on powers above 25, maybe a foot at best.
For the money, especially with their permanent discount codes, there's not much on the market that can compete with arken. Good scope
This answers my question on this scope. I need it for the higher power, so I am going to pass on this. Maybe if/when they do a gen 2. And this is supposed to be better quality ... 😢
@CountryRimfire this actually is the "Gen 2 EP-5." Gen 1 is the 5-25.
@@Fister_of_Muppets well that sucks!! I had high hopes for this scope. Never had an arken before. If it is crappy at high mag, then it's not at all what I am looking for.
@CountryRimfire It depends on your expectations. For $500, there's almost nothing in it's price range that can touch it. Now, there is a big guntuber channel out there that compared the EP-5 to be just as good or better than a Nightforce ATACR. And that's pure BS. But like I said, for the price of the EP-5, it is a very good buy for the price.
@Fister_of_Muppets Nobody around here has them. I wish I could look through one, then at least I would know first hand what I was getting. But, alas, I have to shop blindly and take people's word ya know?

@@johnw391I’ve seen a lot of people say the Arken by a long shot. A couple months ago I got a Vortex strike eagle, and there was a bit of chromatic aberration, clarity was pretty good imo at high power it was okay too. Just ordered the ep5, let’s see how this performs

I’m not sure other than it was hand picked barrel that’s slightly shorter than production model
canada is releasing this scope under their international brand DNT optics. there are a few improvements on the arken 7-35x56 under the DNT optics.

It’s a savage that was made for me right before Covid . The model isn’t same now . I think big difference is the chassis

It's not as good as their stuff . But also doesn't cost over $1000 . That said it is REALLY NICE

I might be a minority, but personally I think its dumb to go to the range and shoot anything larger than a 22 to put holes in paper, besides sighting something in ofcourse.

I ordered a Arken scope for my Texan .457. should I also order the 20 MOA mounts? Do I need that much or will The Arken scope have plenty of elevation for 200-300yd shots?
I would get the 20 moa . Even if n8t needed you will keep optics more centered up where imag3 is clearest

It's a Tier One Bipod . I'm using mine for an informal match in two weeks
It would work for .22 benchrest, however be aware that it is first focal plane scope and the reticle, including center dot, will get bigger on higher power, and it may cover your entire bullet hole at 50 yards and closer targets. I've seen shooters mistakenly put 2 shots in the same bull because they blocked the first shot with the center dot.

Looks good… but …we will see in 10 years…. They are so quick to produce a scope…lol…many do…At the moment I would not look at them…stick to what you know.. don’t pay all this money on the new boy….just my opinion.
