I think we have to remember that it's not a slopestyle event, and that his run was basically the same as 2016, just cleaned up with a few more tricks on some of the smaller features. But 81 was way underscored, should have been at least 3rd place.
I wouldn't be surprised about this. In MMA I remember a fighter wearing nike instead of addidas at an event and he got a penalty for this from his sponsors.

Bizet may have been robbed, but Sorge's run deserves the top honor. His massive step down flip and back flip tuck no-hander where done on huge features. Bizet's double back flip is more like a slopestyle trick. He even bypassed a huge drop in his run. Sorge 1:46:12 (replay) Bizet 2:03:43 (replay)
Cedric has made a pertinent point; although these runs are gnarly as hell, it's almost as if the ultimate slopestyle runs have been Photoshopped onto rugged terrain. I have the utmost respect for anyone who has the balls to shred those lines but I'd have even more respect for them if there wasn't so much manipulation of the terrain. Perhaps there's a market for, "Rampage - Hardcore!"
I wish they would talk about the bikes and equipment used. Like the amount of suspension travel, tire size, body armor, special equipment ,ect. Also, I’d like to know about the judge’s scorning guidelines.
It's amazing they didn't have Chris Bonham "chris-b", Joshua Bender "Bender" and all the other greats in this race. I mean, those guys were the ones who made this sport what it is

Nell was good but Genon, semenuk or rheeder's runs were better. Bizet easily 3rd place. Sorge and zink runs stayed true to rampage, didn't make it look like slopestyle.
I think they should create a rule in which they're only allowed to 'groom' a certain percentage of a line. I turned it off before all of the first runs. It just doesn't have the same feel as other Rampages. I'm not a fan of slope style obviously.
thinking about it... if the judges would have given bizet his rightful score, all the runs after him would have ended in deaths, with people struggling to get the clean 100, trying tricks they have not yet mastered
