- Hey Fren! I decided to take a Solo Trip to Dubai (First Class Edition) for a Relaxation Slaycation and it was amazing. I was terrified but now that I've done it I can't wait to do it again. I got to move how I wanted when I wanted and it felt good. The trip was an overall success until I had a slow moment that cost me $2K in the end but things happen. I cried it out then prepared for my next trip to Tulum. That vlog is coming up soon...

The fact that you were brave enough to go to a foreign country by yourself is a big deal!!!! I understand the trip didn’t end the way you wanted but you accomplished so much more in the end. Oh don't cry sweet girl! Don't be too hard on yourself, we all have made our fair share of travel mistakes. I was in the Army in my early twenties and I have flown to the wrong airport a couple of times. I once flew to NYC when I needed to fly to Newark, NJ, I ended up having to sleep in the airport in NYC because it was midnight and the airport was closed for the night. I've also taken a train in Germany headed to Holland Netherlands and ended up on the other side of the country in Haarland! I ended up spending the night at a Dutch Army base! It was frustrating at the time but I chalked it all up to travel adventures. It's a tale you can tell your grandkids.😊

Kim, we are only human girl.....I honestly appreciate the honesty in this vlog because I missed my flight once and it was my exact same reaction. I cried my eyes out, cost me like $500 to get back home, but it was truly a lesson learnt. I'm just happy ur safe and able to experience new lovely memories. Stay blessed love!!
The bright side of the situation; you could have had to spend the $5000 instead of the $1700 and you could not have had the cash upfront period. There is always a silver lining🙏🏽 don’t be so hard on yourself for being human. I admire the fact that you went solo. Keep striving to do your best and cut yourself some slack. You are such a hard worker and I’m sure you will make up for your mishap.

aw it's ok fren it happens to the best of us. I've had to go through that a couple of times myself so now I'm super paranoid about checking my flights multiple times and I even tell myself earlier times sometimes so I can be early rather than late cuz ain't nobody got time.

I just got back from Dubai w days ago for my 3rd time. I am so happy for you. I love when women are not afraid to travel. Dinner in the sky was amazing. I used uber. Had no problem using uber at all. I stayed at JBR. Guilt is a must see at the Burj Al Alarab.

I know how you feel. I missed 2 flight back to back one time. I was so mad at myself. Almost ruined my entire vacation.
Amsterdam Airport is nice. I didn't even know about the pods. I stored my luggage and left the airport to do the hop on/off tour bus. Next time I'll get a pod if I have a long layover.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You'll never miss one again because it may have been worse if you miss one at a future time. That's how I look at it. I got scammed of all the money I had once but thankfully I was a uni student and it wasn't a lot. Very insignificant compared to how much I've saved now. Awwwww freeeen don’t cry we all make mistakes. My homegirl and I were heading to Turks and Caicos last December and were sitting in the airport and didn’t notice that they moved our gate. We over here watching ppl running for their gates like dang that must suck unbeknownst to us we would be in the same boat hours later! Whew I was so mad the tears wouldn’t even come because that was such a rookie mistake and we knew better. Missed our flight and spent a god awful night in the airport. You live and you learn! ❤

I absolutely love the real & raw honesty/transparency you so graciously share with us through your vlogs! I will say this, you have every right to cry and be upset about missing your flight & having to spend more money. What I loved most is when you said but I can’t keep beating myself up about it… because we all fall short of that. You reminded me to take that moment to express whatever feelings, and then move on.
That $1700 will be returned to you in some way, and who knows but only God, that you may have avoided a dangerous/unsafe, etc.. situation in missing that flight.

I almost started crying too. I felt so bad. I've looked at a date incorrect before and it cost me extra money at a time where I could barely pay for my error. I have faith that what you lost you will gain back 10 times over because even though I don't know you personally you have a good spirit from what you allow us to see in your vlogs.

First off, I loved this vlog thanks for taking us with you, I too was thinking about doing a solo trip and this video was extremely helpful and making my decision. I hate that your trip ended the way it did, as someone said in the comments I saw so much of myself in you. I literally just had a dumping session (with myself) and at the end felt like I needed to give myself some grace. We all have moments and must realize we all make mistakes and they're just learning lessons.
