      +misscherry2014 I don't know what it means to the person who said it, but my interpretation was that creating safety nets for ourselves when we dream makes us focus less on our dreams. It's better to focus on what we really want to do, rather than water it down for the sake of possible failure :)

      not so sure about this one. perhaps it means from a business standpoint. like, when you're planning and leading important events in your life. because if you are honestly struggling with something personally, don't feel shameful for having some sort of safety net, not wanting to fail at a personal/academic goal for things out of your control.

    The best advice I ever recieved was from my mom. She told me at a young age "If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life." It has driven me forward to pursue a career in teaching and really find something I was passionate about

    • @Gilgameshh
      @Gilgameshh 9 років тому

      How come? Perhaps it would ruin the quote she held so dear? This is the problem with many people of earth, they put emotions before facts and if this is how we're all going to be the chances of us as a species becoming highly intelligent in time is very unlikely.

    • @Gilgameshh

    My advice to all of you. Try and see reason above all. It'll help you forgive, it'll help you aid, it'll help you understand, it'll help you avoiding problems as well as solving them.
    No matter what someone might do they have their reasons. No matter how hard it is to see there is always a reason behind why someone does something. Good or bad. Try and always understand this. Even if someone is mean or angry, don't shy away form them. Do the opposite. Look straight at it. Always look straight at things; stare it into the eyes and you'll see the thought behind it. Once you can see a persons true intentions. Their true reason. Then you'll know them on an entirely different level.

      +SavvyBeauty you know that is so true, that's actually the whole journey, knowing yourself and being at piece with yourself, basically learning to be a human being and knowing that no one is perfect and what we do and how we live is all just an experience to become a better human being until the end..I don't believe it much but I've heard reincarnation is a type of way to come back as a specific life form to help you learn what you hadn't in the previous, total circumstances may change a rich person can go poor, a loved person can become the most hated!..All journey to being a human, to fully know yourself and be happy!..your simple line made me come up with all this lol! thank you though! :)

    Best advice I've ever received was that the difference between a good day and bad day is your attitude! It's what you make it!

    My advice for Life in general: "Make your Spouse then most important person and focus in your life. Everything else will work it self out."
    Viewing the world from a different perspective: "The Glass is not half full or half empty... The glass is always full, because the other half is filled with air."
    Do silly "childish" type things from time to time, it reduces stress and is good for your soul. Spend more time with your kids. They can teach you how to be silly and how wonderful it feels to smile.
    Some advice that has stayed with me from others...
    On working all the time: "When your at the end of your life you won't wish you worked more, make time for the other things in life also"
    On what other people say: "If people who put you down really did cared about you, they would treat you better right? Yep! Just ignore everything they say. Don't put their hate on your shoulders."
    Failure: "It's ok to fail... What did you learn from it?"

    • @Gilgameshh
      @Gilgameshh 9 років тому

      What? The quotes there are pretty stupid to say the least. "The glass is not half full or half empty... The glass is always full, because the other half is filled with air"? That's not called " Viewing the world from the different perspective" that's called stupidity. what did you think? the other half of the glass is a perfect vacuum? Maybe you should take a physics lesson or two and look at things the way they are.

    • @KismetBP
      @KismetBP 9 років тому

      +Gilgamesh hahahaha. Your comments made me laugh. See advice "On what other people say".
      Its obvious you have a need to prove how much smarter you are then everyone else. Do you not feel good about yourself? Awww, poor baby. From what i've seen of your comments they are very close minded and come off very arrogant and hateful. Which means most people are going to ignore/dismiss everything you say. I'm not sure if that is what your going for.
      You can state a counter argument without being so negative and insulting. It really makes you look like a jerk when you use insulting language.
      On a side note: You can't see why someone would talk about fluid and air in a volume? Since your so brilliant at Physics, including fluid dynamics & air pressure, i'm sure you've heard of Heron's Fountain? No? Lucky there's Google.. enjoy.
      It also points out there is more then one or two ways to look at things, which by what your saying you don't get that either. Its ok if you don't understand, thats how we learn. You may not just be in that point of your life where you can understand those things yet. Maybe in the future.
      Good luck!

    • @Gilgameshh
      @Gilgameshh 9 років тому

      Kismet, Ring of Destiny A lot of flaws to point out here but since I have no interest in you, I'll say the obvious ones here such as "Since your so brilliant at physics" I don't see where I have stated "I'm brilliant at physics" only requires common sense to figure this much, and now moving on to "You may not just be in that point of your life where you can understand those things yet" unless you're implying I'm under 10 that comment made little sense and also made you quite the hypocrite as you're insulting and trying hard to prove your little point I care little about.
      I'm straight forward and explain things simple without a second thought about a persons emotion and if you think that is "insulting" then perhaps you should have a few English lessons along with your physics. I'm trying to say I'm smarter than everyone else? By disapproving comments using nothing more than my common sense I am telling everyone that Im more intelligent than them? At this point you're nothing more than a mere flea desperately trying to look superior from my perspective hence why I'll end this conversation here.

    • @KismetBP
      @KismetBP 9 років тому

      +Gilgamesh hahaha, Again. Got to the point where you said "I have no interest in you" and stopped reading. Then why comment if you don't care about the person your trying to give Advice to? Advice is about caring about others and trying to help. But thats all the time I have, again, good luck!

    I never met my maternal grandfather, but mom and my grandmother told me some of the best advice he's ever given.
    "It's better to have four quarters than a hundred pennies." Mom said that Papaw was a firm believer in the ideology of a few valuable friends rather than a bunch that aren't that good in the first place.
    "This is the day the Lord has made, take advantage of it!" When he was going through chemotherapy for his lung cancer, he was a bit delirious and had minor memory issues. "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad" was his favorite verse. When he tried to say it, he forgot the last part and his most famous quote was born.
    "Have fun, be kind, and go out there and learn somethin'!!" He'd always say that to my mom and uncles when they went to school.
    My family said that after serving in the Navy in the 60's and 70's, he traveled all over the world and gained a love for the beauty other people have, whether it be their intelligence, kindness, or just being a funny person all-around.

    "Know the rules before you break them! But break the rules not the law"
    Societies rules, your parents rules, school, etc . . . I live in Canada so I'm fortunate enough that I don't have to worry about a lot in my life. But If you're going to disobey a higher authority know: why you're doing it, how to fight for it, and the consequences.

    It's funny, 'treat others as you would treat yourself' is something we teach kids but I think as you grow older things like 'don't say anything to yourself you wouldn't say to a friend' become more valuable advice... kids don't have so many self esteem issues :')

    You have to know that i'm not the best person to tell an advice here. This week, i found that each a happy experience that i had in my life would not last forever, it will go after a week or two and then i search for another way to make that happy experience last for much longer but in the end it will go and then i will just try to find another happy experience like that one. Same thing with the sad experiences that i had in my life. it all will eventually go. Life just seems to me like a struggle. You just always need to look for a happy experiences, but when you end up having a sad and a terrible experience, just try to be patient, cus it will not last forever. (Sorry for the bad English)

    0:30 - If you dont care what people say, how will you change? We all are born pure, then we get washed down the river of life and once we are all old enough to make our own decisions, not listening is the best idea? People, there is a difference between ignorance and confidence, its not that simple. The fact that we teach our own children this is frightening

    I guess the best advice I was given is that everything happens for your own good, whether you like it of you hate it. There is a verse in the Quran that means: You might hate something but it's actually good for you or maybe you really love something but it's actually bad for you.

    There is no past to worry about. You can not go there, and so it isn't real.
    There is no future to worry about. You can not go there, and so it isn't real.
    There is just NOW and what you choose to do with it.
    Live now, it is all you can do, and all you need to do.
