It is great to expose controlling people and to help people who are under someone's control to be free. Teaching people that they have to tithe in order to be blessed is a control tactic as well.

Manipulation is not always accomplished by a bully or an abusive person. That is easy to recognize. It is possible to be manipulated by a very nice person with a respectable title.

I went through a phase of being a bully and hurting people . This was a short phase but i think its because my own bullying at school and home was so intense, when you feel you have no personal power you try to recoup it, Unfortunately when you dont have wisdom being a bully can be a result of this. I would disagree that all people who hurt people are hurting people. There are people who are inherently sadisitic and enjoy hurting people. Some people, there ego is so big, all you need is to shine in any kind of way you will attract their evil eye. I realize this teaching may be counterintuitive tothe Christian Life but i have found it to be true.

Really? Ephesians 6:12 does not mean what this pastor says that it means (6:16). Pushing the blame on Satan is not accurate and gives him too much power. Satan is not the author of our sin, we are. Our sins are our own, and Satan’s sins are his own. Read Romans. Paul takes responsibility for his own sin and does not pass the blame. In Genesis, sin entered through Adam. God also says in Ezekiel 18:20 “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. “ We need to take responsibility for our own sins. If we keep passing the blame, how do we change? What if a judge let a guilty criminal go for a crime just because he said the devil made him do it. Would that be right or justified? Absolutely not! In fact, our God is a just and holy God that sent His son Jesus to die in our stead. Somehow blaming Satan for our sins discounts the beautiful truth of what Jesus did for us on the cross. Romans 3:23 says “For ALL have sinned and fall short of His glory” But there’s nothing that says, because of Satan, all have sinned. Again that gives him too much power. God is Sovereign over all! Also, the examples that he’s giving are not representative of a true bullying or controlling situation. If a person is a true bully or is manipulative or controlling, its not unbiblical to flee or avoid that person (Romans 16:17). Matthew 7:6 says Do not give what is holy to dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” So, If the offenders heart is hardened from the truth its best to avoid these people if you can. And yes, pray for them. It’s not our jobs to change them though.
