I remember when I first read the manga I got really caught up on the fact of Sae converting from a striker to a midfielder, but I think I see it more clear now. The author isn’t trying to imply that being a midfielder is less than being a striker or anything, I think what it all comes down to is Rin suddenly losing his shared dream and not knowing how to react. From the manga, you could easily make the assumption that Rin was a lonely kid. His entire life basically revolved around his shared dream with Sae, and he dedicated his life to it when he was away. Sae is completely free to change his dream, but he’s a bit of a poor communicator and dropped it on Rin without considering his perspective. Rin was only 14, so it makes sense that he wasn’t able to clearly explain why it made him so frustrated. What really upsets him is how Sae disregarded him, and the subsequent harsh words and abandonment is what really turned him against Sae (The author revealed though that Sae doesn’t even know why Rin is upset and thinks it’s just a phase 😭 Kinda further illustrates his apathy, I guess)
I have a fairly popular theory but not many people want to see this way anyway. Sae is definitely not really a "good" brother but he does actually see Rin becoming the best, and for that reason he insults and abandons him to rile him up. You can kind of see Sae lose his last shred of emotion with him the moment Rin says that he isn't the same brother he shared a dream with. This is speculation of course but the author/artist wouldn't just put a panel/scene of Sae on the brink of tears for no reason. I'm going to assume you caught up but if not... Spoiler below: In the current arc, the whole idea of Sae riling up Rin works horrifyingly well. Rin pretends to see his brother in scenarios where he broke through the defense so in that case... he literally throws the match just to have more people in his way to destroy. This literally amps his growth ten-fold and he discovers the key to unlock flow which is probably one of the most broken specs anyone can get other than complex metavision
All that happened was, Sae got humbled at real madrid. Updated his dream. Rin for some reason is very dependent on his brothers dream and Sae saw that as a weakness. He is right, rin shouldn't use him as an excuse to play football. 😅 respect the game
The two episodes of the final episode of the Blue lock vs U20 Japan national team season will be broadcast in a row! The last 13 and 14 episodes will be broadcast on the same day in a row! It will be broadcast for 1 hour in total!
It’s Real Madrid’s Academy the team that Sae went to play for. Also if you guys remember against the world 5, the Spanish player Luna, he Also plays for Madrid. Although he plays for the senior team, he could be one of the many players that kinda made Sae change his dream.
Yeah guys, it was kind of an overshadowed detail, rather, something that was just mentioned in passing in Sae's first appearance in season 1, but he plays for the u20 squad of La Real, aka, Blue Lock's version of Real Madrid.
@@UnclesReact i think Sae didn't play for Japan yet, because in his very first appearance he said that he was not interested in playing for Japan due to the lack of good players and a striker who was worthy of receiving his passes. And also Aiku, the commentators and even the fans were excited to see Sae play, with the first one saying that it was time for Sae's debut when he received the ball at the beginning fo the match.
Sae and Rin’s relationship is very similar to Reo and Nagi. There can be only one best striker in the world and your goal cannot be the second best or playing with / catching up someone. Nagi and Sae changed their vision and started seeing bigger picture when they face superior players and they change their mentality. Just remember when reo pushes nagi into bluelock doors. Nagi says we cant win together and reo answers :”Then i will make you the best striker in the world”.
Sae changed his dream cause at Spain his level wasn’t enough to fit as a striker. He saw potential on Rin when they played together so he wants his brother to pursue that dream on his own
I will say, I was a bit sad that we didn't get any more of the match this week because I agree, Blue Lock is a drug I only get on Saturday and today was a bad batch, lol. But the Rin/Sae backstory is necessary and had to happen sometime so at least it's out of the way and we can get back to the good shit next week!
Rin only wanted to play with Sae and be 2nd best. I think Sae realized Rin at a young age had a talent for scoring that h didn’t have, that is necessary for the best. Realizing he himself couldn’t be the best he decided his dream was to be a midfielder and support Rin who he thinks can be the best striker. But Rin said it was only worth playing soccer if they kept their dream together. Sae realized Rin is not playing for the right reasons and knows it’s not good for his ego which is why he tells him to quiet and not use him as an excuse to play the game. You should want it for yourself
Rin kind of overreacted cause he is a teenager and he didnt really even like soccer he wanted to suuport his bro. Even thou his bro said hey ill be the mf youll be striker, bu duno, rin had an episode. Also in the match when sae said to rin that he had to stop acting like his lil bro, he just wants Rin to be himself and play him like a soccer player not like his bro
The training model in Japan is a bit different from Europe, Japan is a physical education model, their school clubs are pretty much like academies, and pro teams go to high school clubs to pick up players. That's why high school club starters are almost certain to go pro.
Sae was like 14y old when he left Japan for Spain and was supposedly leagues above other players. So it makes sense for him to be overconfident. Sae wanted to be the best midfielder and said that Rin could be the best striker. But Rin was havin non of that, he was so fixated on being the 2nd best striker after his brother. Sae saw this is as being lukewarm/half-baked.
Another Bluelock drop lego!! also ROAD TO 5K SUBS!! IKUZOOO!!
yo guys, if you need an ediitor, I work with a few react channels, lets talk. my email is in my bio. 15$/episode.
The Sae & Rin Situation is Story Implementation of Ego's Speech about Defeat & Dream Doping.

He plays at the equivalent of La Fábrica (real Madrid academy) even Sendou told him, you're only academy level Sae, and we are first division Japanese
and he also gets into Japan's main team right?

Sae really could be using reverse psychology to try and push Rin to do what he himself couldn’t or he’s just a terrible brother
